There's no-one who deserves a Birthday... DL card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!     

Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge was a fun one to make and again didn't have a die in sight!

  • I used a DL card for this design and used a Hunkydory Prism punch to create the inverted edge to the corners.
  • I cut a strip of white card measuring the length of the DL card and approximately 1.5" inw width and coloured it using Solent Green (Nuvo), Salty Ocean (Tim Holtx Distress Oxide) and a Yellow ink pad from Aladine Izinks.
  • Once I was happy with the blending, I stamped the balloons image (from the Birthday Bears Box stamp and die set from Crafter's Companion Gemini range) three times, starting with the middle and then the top and bottom. I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink to do this as it is a hybrid ink and so can be used with either watercolours or alcohol inks.
  • I then took a paint brush and bleached parts of them with some water, dabbing off the excess.
  • I then added some of Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink on to a glass mat and painted some of the balloons to try and give them some shadows.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the same set between the balloons again using Gina K Obsidian Black ink.
  • Once it was dry, I stuck it to the front of the DL card slightly to the left using some PVA glue.
  • Using some red liner tape (narrowish) I placed two pieces of it either side of the panel, removed the backing and added some black foil to them and burnished them until there was no glue showing.
  • I stamped the three bears on to some Willow White cardstock (from Sheena Douglass) and coloured them in using a couple of Brown Spectrum Noir triblender alcohol markers and some blue ones for the balloon and cake stand (as well as some pink for the cake itself).
  • I fussy cut around them as I can never quite get the die to cut around them as I want, and then glued them with a dotty tape runner pen on the right hand side.

  Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is one that would be great for Valentine's Day and makes use of both dies and stamps! I had cut the backing layer for another project but didn't use it so decided to use it with this one. It is a Rose Gold colour Mirror card and the die is from Stamps By Me (I think). I attached it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using fingerlift tape as I didn't want to have any glue showing. I stamped the cute kids image out on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink - the stamp is from Bring on the Boys collection from Linnie Pink I coloured them in using Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir Triblenders as they make colouring in so easy with the 3 shades in one pen. I used blue and green Distress Oxide inks for the background and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. Hummingbird shadow effect on C6 white card -  Day 267 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge (day 267) came about after I had cut out the "Songbird" die from the Couture collection and thought it would be really useful as a stencil using some inks. To make the topper:- I had cut out the "Songbird" die (from Couture by Create and Craft) out in white card and thought that it would make a really good stencil to use as a background. I took one of the Stamping card tags from Craftwork Cards (in the " Stamping Must haves ) collection and coloured over the die-cut in various places (also reversing it so the bird was looking the other way).I used a variety of green ink pads - Tm Holtz " Mowed Lawn " and Generation INX G01. Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card -  Day 265 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! The rain has finally stopped and so I have made this simple but effective card using stamps and dies... How I made this card:- I used one of Tattered Lace Floral Wreath dies to cut out the main topper in white card. I then coloured it with various shades of green alcohol markers and when I was happy with it, I stuck it to some Gold Mirri Card (approximately 3" square) and then using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (or Gina K's Connect glue) I attached it to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card which is part of the Core Collection from Create & Craft so it formed a diamond shape. Using Orange, Red and Yellow Bleeding Art Tissue, I coloured some card and when it was dry I used a Tattered Lace Nested Beads Essential Circle Dies to die cut a circle.
