Thanks .. You're one in a million square card with hand coloured panels - Day 205 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my challenge is this hand coloured square card that I have made using a mix of Tattered Angels Color Wash paints and Glimmer Mists along with some Brea Reese paints too. How I made this card:- I have loads of these white pre-cut 67mm deckle edge panel (from Craft Creations) and thought I would try out using the various colours in the Tattered Angels Color Wash paint and Glimmer Mist sprays along with some colours from Brea Reese Watercolour inks.  I coloured each panel with various shades of green, green and gold, red, orange, pink and purple and lastly one with a mix of all of them. Once I was happy with the colour, I put them aside and let them dry. When dry, I stuck them to a layer of black card (Lynda Chapman's) and placed a strip of vellum/parchment across the centre of it (using tape on the back). I then stamped...

Happy Birthday Sunflower and butterfly square card -  Day 53 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I am really not comfortable making "large" cards but thought I would give it ago for today's challenge - this time using a Sunflower stamp from Stamps Away and some Fleur's Flower Forming foam to make the butterfly. How I made this card:- I took a flower shaped card (from Hunkydory) and cut it in two as I thought it would make a good layer for the card I wanted to make. I then stamped the sunflower on to it and heat embossed it with my heat tool (using Versafine Onyx Black ink and a clear embossing powder) I coloured the sunflower in using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (mainly CR1, GB6 and DR4) trying to blend them to make the inner part of the flower darker. I also used a brown alcohol marker (EB6) for the inside and added some black dots as well. I edged the flower layer with the CR1 and then a narrower edge of a black alcohol marker as I wanted ...

WooHoo! Safari animals and Jungle green themed large card -  Day 38 of my 365 day challenge HI Craft addicts! I am really pleased with this card as it turned out almost how I saw it in my head! I used Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps and co-ordinating masks along with some distress inks. How I made this card:- Main topper -  I first of all cut this panel out using a Spellbinders ornate rectangle die in white card. I kept it in the die and coloured it in using various shades of Altenew Green inks, trying to make it look like a sunrise/sunset but this time using green - I also used their Pure Graphite ink pad to give the sky a darker feel. Keeping it in the die, also meant the border that wasn't in the die was highlighted. I allowed it to dry and then used the Go Wild stamps, stamping the larger tree and grass on the topper using Onyx Black Versafine ink (first generation). along with the giraffe. I also stamped the elephants second generation (stampin...

Flowers - blank no message 7in square card -  Day 311 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my challenge is one using some flower paper from Tonic Studios, some die-cuts from Tattered Lace and some backing paper from Hunkydory. How I made this card:- I decided I would make a 7" square card which is the largest size card before postage charges go up and so used this one from Hunkydory - you always know that their cards are going to be the best quality ever! I also used one of the "Green" background papers that is in their 6" "Radiance Rainbows" paper bad and stuck it to the front of the card using fingerlift tape. I used my Brother ScanNCut to cut out the "Zig-zag" border strip in black cardstcok and glued it to the centre of the card. I then cut out 2 of the "Lacey Squares" (I think) from Tattered Lace in cream cardstock and glued them in a diamond shape overlapping each of them in the centre. ...

Autumn Leaves with butterfly embossed 7" card -  day 254 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have been trying to used different techniques over the past few days and this is the result of using embossing folders and alcohol markers .  Needs working on but I quite like the "Autumnal" feel of this card. To make the embellishments -  I used a pre-cut sheet of "gold" coloured "Mirri" card - this particular one is Kanban;s version but Hunkydory, Creative Crafting World and Create & Craft (to name but a few) sell different weights and colours. I like this version for this effect as it is a more "matt" colour. I embossed it using the "Autumn Leaves" 8" embossing folder from Tattered Lace using my Cut n Boss. I also embossed some "Silver" too.as i wanted to see the differences when colouring them. I then cut out a butterfly (this one is a Sheena Douglass die) using both the outer an...

Vintage football image on a 7" square card - Day 162 of my 366 day challenge

Vintage football image on a 7" square card -  Day 162 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well, as Euro 2016 starts today, I thought I would make this card - but with a slightly more vintage feel to it. I used a white 7" square card which Hunkydory sell and are excellent quality - they don't feel flimsy like some cardstock does! I wanted the card to have a rich feeling and so used one of the "Moroccan Mosaic" die strip from Tonic Studios and cut out one in red and another in gold mirror card leaving a narrow panel of uncut card on the right hand side. I then glued the gold one on to the red and vice versa so you are left with a mirror image of each colou r. Once it was dry, I then attached it to the front of the card trimming it from the back to make sure it fitted it perfectly. I had this football image from the "Gentleman's Journey" card making kit from Hunkydory and so added it to the card using foam pads. To finish...

Let's Celebrate - Owls in Trees DL card + Best Wishes Autumn Leaves 7" white card -  Days 154 + 155 of my 366 Day Challenge Hi Craft addicts! As I missed my blog yesterday (I know you all missed it), I am showing two cards this time - one of which you can buy on my website www.thehandmadecraftsshop.co.uk  The first one is a DL card using a cute owls topper and background from Lelli-bots and the second one using Hunkydory , Craftwork Cards , Tattered Lace and Tonic Studios products. So, first of all, the "Let's Celebrate " - Two owls in a tree  white DL card. This has been made using the really fun images from Lelli-bots "Twit-Twoo " collectio n and is really simple to make. I used one of the papers from the 8" x 8" kit and cut it using a paper trimmer (Tonic Studios is my preferred option) so that it left a narrow border. Using a fineliner pen, I then added some faux-stitching to the edge of the background. Once ...
