Happy Birthday...Leaf in silhouette on hand coloured tag A6/A2 card Hi Craft addicts! Nearly the Bank Holiday weekend and so I have made this quick and easy Birthday Card using a Stamps by Me die and some stamps (along with a hand painted tag)... How I made this card:- The base card is an A6 (A2 in the US) which can be got from all sorts of companies such as Hunkydory, Paper Boutique etc.... I had coloured the tag (it is a medium sized cream one) using orange, yellow, green and red water colour paints and left it to dry. Whilst that was happening, I cut a panel of blue card, 4.5" x 5.5" (from Create & Craft's Core Collection) to fit the front of the card and embossed it with the Skinny Woodgrain Embossing Folder from Creative Expressions. When the tag was dry, I place the leafy foliage die from the latest Stamps by Me collection and cut it out in the centre. I will use the actual die cut in a later project as I wanted to use the "waste" cut...

Fairy and flower cartonnage gift tag or home decor -  Day 157 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well the sun is shining today which makes a lovely change and for my challenge today, I have been playing with tag shaped cartonnage/chipboard shapes. How I made this project:- These are, I think chipboard/cartonnage label shaped tags (not MDF) and I think I should have painted it first with some Gesso to act as  a primer but still I think it still turned out ok. I used Tattered Angels Colour Wash paints (blues, greens, browns and a hint of yellow to colour in the background. I let each coat dry before adding another (I think I did about 4 or 5) and then let it dry overnight. I cut out the fairy and the flower toppers in white cardstock (both Tattered Lace dies) and coloured them in - I left the fairy's hair white as I thought it added some interest and her wings and flowers in a couple of shades of pink. Fairy and flowers Large MDF tag shaped wall hanging - Day 24 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! So, this is another wall hanging - hadn't quite realised how many I had actually made - they are all so much fun to do! So for this one I took a large tag MDF shape and painted it a couple of times with black Pebeo Acrylic Gesso paint. Once dry, I cut out a Tonic Studios Fairy die in white and glued it using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. You could of course either paint it with chalkboard paint or use chalkboard paper so that you can use the space for messages. After it was dry, I made up some paper flowers and butterfly (from different companies) - for my next one, I am going to try and stamp some flowers out (such as the Honey Doo or Dreamees ) and use them. MDF shapes - what do with them and how easy are they to decorate/use? Hi Craft Addicts! I have been wondering how easy it is to decorate MDF so thought I would have a go - the next couple of blog posts will be "charting my progress" from the first one I made to my latest one.  Home decor is now such a popular craft and so many Companies are producing blank MDF templates of all shapes and thicknesses and if they have been laser or cut by hand that it is difficult to know which ones to use or even if it makes a difference! So, now I have some to use from the small family companies  Dreamees,   Stamps Away and Imagination Crafts ) it is time to choose what to do with them - you will have to bear with me as this is definitely a "work in progress" and you will see how I improve (or not) over the next few attempts at making some decent products! As you can see from these first ones - I do have a long way to go....though I do like the black...
