New Year 2019

Hi Craft addicts! Well I hope you all had a great Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! I decided not to do my usual 365 day challenge this year but needed to have something to work on - so have various ideas - one of which is taking part in the 64 million artist challenge which you can find on Twitter, Facebook etc... Some of them are really good (I am doing this with my daughter and so far have written a couple of stories (very short and silly) but it is great fun to do it with her as we can compare notes etc.... So there is a challenge a day - some to be honest are a bit vague but others are indeed worth doing - for instance today's option is to upcycle/recycle something (I am still trying to work out what to do for this one) and I am looking forward to seeing what comes in the next weeks. I have also decided that I have so much crafty stash that I must try and used some of them up before I disappear under them! So again, I am planning to perhaps use a particula...

Celebrate! Paper clip people on C6 Adorable Scorable card -  Day 189 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I had some paperclips left over and thought they would make some interesting "people" so I used them to make this card... How I made this card:- I have had these paper clips for ages and have never used them for their right purpose and suddenly thought they would make some interesting people (I know my mind can work in strange ways). Anyway, I took 5 of them (if I had used a bigger card, I would have tried to use 7 so they could be a rainbow (especially as it was Pride over the weekend). I cut a panel of white stamping card (135x75mm) and stuck the clips in a row on it using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I then added the "head", arms and legs to them using a black alcohol marker - I tried to make them look as if they were holding hands. I then added some very thin ultra strong red liner tape to the top and bottom of the panel and then placed...

MDF - what to do with it and how easy is it decorate?....

MDF shapes - what do with them and how easy are they to decorate/use? Hi Craft Addicts! I have been wondering how easy it is to decorate MDF so thought I would have a go - the next couple of blog posts will be "charting my progress" from the first one I made to my latest one.  Home decor is now such a popular craft and so many Companies are producing blank MDF templates of all shapes and thicknesses and if they have been laser or cut by hand that it is difficult to know which ones to use or even if it makes a difference! So, now I have some to use from the small family companies  Dreamees,   Stamps Away and Imagination Crafts ) it is time to choose what to do with them - you will have to bear with me as this is definitely a "work in progress" and you will see how I improve (or not) over the next few attempts at making some decent products! As you can see from these first ones - I do have a long way to go....though I do like the black...

So many Craft products to choose from - what to do?

So many choices of craft products - what to choose? Looking at the various craft magazines, browsing the various craft shops (such as   Handy Hippo , DoCrafts ,   CraftCreations , you can find online and now watching the   Create and Craft TV   channel (the only dedicated 24 hour Craft channel in the world and now showing in the US too), it gets more and more confusing as to products I should be using for different projects from "am I using the right sort of paper", "which dies would be good to use", are digital stamps better than real ones to "should I embrace CD or paper crafting"?  The list goes on and on... It is hard to find a definitive answer as we all have our own preferences (I like all of them which makes things harder)  - there are also limitations as to what we can and can't use when selling our cards - does the Company have a flexible Angel Policy or is the license a strict one so that we can only make them to give away? Is i...
