Cats make life sweeter..A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is A6 and has been made using dies, stamps and colouring materials. I cut out the largest panel (Lisa Horton's Harlequin Bubbles Mini Slimline Die) in Lynda Chapman's Black card first of all. I then cut out a smaller rectangle in white and whilst still in the die, coloured it with a variety of Harmony inks from Crafter's Companion - red, yellow and orange and blended them in until I was happy with the result and took it out of the die to dry. I cleaned the die so that there was no ink left on it. I then cut out the sentiment panel dies which are from the Tags collection from Carnation Crafts - the layering panel in white and coloured it in to match the main background, then the ornate part in Lynda Chapman's Black card and the sentiment panel in white. I then used a dotty pen (from Crafter's Companion) to attach the ornate panel to the back layer and then a normal tape pen to attach the white panel. The sentiment, ...

Geometric Cat on floral background A5 blank notebook - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's project is not a card - I had bought this notebooks ages ago and thought I should actually do something with it! I took two pieces of the Stamps By Me It's All About You Vibrant Tones 8" square paper pad and placed one of them on the front and covered it and part of the back with it and glued it in place using PVA glue. I then cut a smaller piece to cover the join and the rest of the back and glued that in place again with PVA Glue. I really love this Geometric cat die and stamp from Thirsty Brush and so cut it out in black card (Lynda Chapman's of course), and as before, I added some Wild Spider self adhesive sheet on the reverse and cut it out. I placed it on some white card and trimmed around it leaving a narrow white border and then edged it with a Black alcohol marker. I stuck it to the top of the notebook with Pinflair's Bookbinding Glue and used some white and black Nuvo Drops to add an eye to the cat. Finally, I cut out the postcar...

Mosaic black cat Birthday Wishes 7x5in black card..

Mosaic black cat Birthday Wishes 7x5in black card.. Hi Craft addicts! Well, it is apparently National Hug a Cat day today so thought this black mosaic cat would be appropriate to write about! How I made this card:- I coloured a piece of 5" Yupo paper (from Ranger) using a variety of alcohol inks - for this particular one I used Jaquard Pinata colour inks as they are lovely and bright (especially on Yupo paper). When I was happy with the design, I let it completely dry and cut out the solid mat layer in black card from the Watercolour Cat die set from Tattered Lace. I then cut the main layer out of the background using the other die in the set along with the mat die as I wanted to cut it out totally. These dies are from their Unity collection so the mat layer cuts very close to the main topper. I glued them both together using PVA Glue, but you could add a self adhesive layer so you don't have to do this... I had cut out the frame out in Silver Mirri some time ...

Cute Kitty with teddy bear friends 6in square card -  Day 330 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well I thought I would leave Christmas for one day and have made this cute hand stamped and coloured card... I hope you like it... How I made this card:- I first of all used a Tattered Lace Scalloped Edged circle die and cut out the mat in white linen effect card. I stamped the cat image (Best Friends stamp from Sweet Dixie) directly on to the circle using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured the cat in using the markers in Prism's Cool Greys set (the three darkest ones) until I was happy (ish) with its' colouring and then used brown shades to colour in the teddy bears. I also stamped the XXXX image just underneath using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink again. I used Blue and Green Prism inks to colour in the background with separate sponge daubers. I then cut out the larger background layer using the Reach For the Stars die (from Paper Boutique's Celestia...

Cat on Laundry hand coloured square card -  Day 312 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today is a fun hand coloured cat themed card for day 312 of my 365 day challenge using Chameleon pens. How I made this card:- I first of all used one of the cute pre printed images from one of the Prism colouring books (they are approximately 5" square. I coloured the cat and laundry in using a variety of Chameleon pens (this is the first time I have used them and have still SO much to learn as to their use). Once I was happy with the colouring, I then used some ink daubers with the ink that was left on them to colour the floor and wall (blue and yellow). I attached this to some coppery/gold paper and trimmed it so there was a narrow border around it. I then edged the whole thing with a black alcohol marker. Finally, I stuck the entire topper on the front of a 6" white card with some PVA glue. I also added some Ebony Black Nuvo drops And there you are  a card...

Sending you Furry Good Wishes A6 card -  Day 311 of my 365 day challenge HI Craft addicts! Today's card for day 311 of my 365 day challenge is a fun general card which I have hand stamped and coloured using alcohol markers. How I made this card:- I stamped out the cat image (from Personal Impressions) on to some white card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I wanted to use alcohol markers. Once it was dry (which was almost immediate), I coloured the cat in using Prism (from Hunkydory) Browns series - 526 (Honey), 539 (Ginger) and 547 (Sepia) and then used Spectrum Noir Orange (CR10) and a Blue (TB3) for their apron and cupcake. I then cut around it leaving a narrow border all around. Using a PVA Glue, I then stuck it on to a pre cut deckle edge white panel (from Craft Creations) and then used a sponge dauber and the ink that was left on it from another project to colour around it. I also edged the whole panel with a black alcohol marker (the chisel end of a Prism ...

Have a purrfect day...cute cat on square card - Day 262 of my 365 day challenge

Have a purrfect day...cute cat on square card -  Day 262 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a fun and cheerful card that I made out of a happy accident - day 262 of my challenge already!  How I made this card:- I had had this card from Hunkydory (I think) for ages and thought I should use it so I misted various colours over it from Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (Tone on Tone Orange,Yellow and Pink). Once I was happy with the effect, I then realised that though I had wanted the inks to go through to the back, it had smudged in a couple of places so rather than throwing it away decided to use the front as a background for another card. I used Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue to attach it to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card from Create & Craft's Core range. I then cut out two circles from the Tattered Lace Nested Beaded Chains Essential Circles set - the larger of the two in black and the smaller in white card (both from Ly...

Just for you... cats silhouettes in window C6 green card -  Day 170 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well it is a busy day sports wise - football and tennis - am doing a bit of channel hopping I must admit! Anyway, today's card is a bright and cheerful one using peel off stickers on a Hunkydory's Adorable Scorable card. How I made this card:- Using my Tattered Lace mini score board, I embossed the top, front and right hand side of a C6 green card from Hunkydory - it is Adorable Scorable so it does so really easily. I first of all scored inside and then repeated it on the outside. I used Tattered Angels Color Wash paints to colour a background (blues and greens) on to some white stamping card. I tried to make it look like sky and grass again. I then added the Cats in a window silhouette peel off sticker on top of it and trimmed round it and used a black alcohol marker to conceal any white parts. I then added the whole panel on to some white card which...

Hugs and Kisses Zentangled Cat 7x5in card -  Day 161 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well have the French Tennis Open on in the background whilst doing this blog and as usual want both players to win! Anyway, I thought this card turned out quite well and thought I would tell you how I made it! How I made this card:- I first of all used Canvas (the website app for my Brother Scan n Cut and exported a picture of a cat on to it and resized it to 3.5" x 4" and cut it out in white card. I then used a fine Micron pen with black ink and Zentangled inside the cat - I probably will make them a bit larger the next time. I coloured them in using Zig Clean Color Real brush pens and some alcohol markers. I took a sheet of Khaki green paper (from a pack from Creative Crafting World I think) and stuck it to the bottom half of a 7" x 5" white card and trimmed it to fit (turning the card over so I could see the edges. I then used some medium ultra stron...
