Celebrate! Watercolour sea scene hand painted  7x5in card Hi Craft addicts! I am really trying to learn how to watercolour (with a varying degree of success) but thought I would use this scene I painted to make this Celebrate card...... How I made this card:- I had this shaped oval left over from a previous project, and thought that I would use it to create the scene and used pinks, oranges, yellows, reds and blues watercolour paints (any will do, but I used the ones in the Watercolour Wheel that Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me sold some time ago. When I was fairly happy with it, I let it dry naturally and then edged it with a bright blue alcohol marker. I wanted to add some items to it, so used the bird and yacht stamps from the Lighthouse Harbour set For the Love of Stamps range adding 3 birds and 2 ships to the scene using Black Gina K Amalgam ink. I realised that a part of the scene wasn't quite dry when I stamped it and so would make sure it was the next time ...

Congratulations sunrise hand coloured and stamped C6 card for Day 137 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I was really pleased with the way this scene turned out - I hope it does look like a sunrise/sunset!! I have also used some Rare Earth and For the Love of Stamps for the decoration. How I made this card:- I first of all took a piece of white Water colour card and using the textured side, I coloured it in using reds, oranges, yellows, blue and black to make the sunrise/sunset background. So I could mirror the top and bottom (to give an idea of shadow), I did each colour at a time blending them in as I went along. I then masked off the majority of the background, leaving only a small gap in the centre and sponged through it using some True Graphite Altenew ink (I moved the paper slightly at an angle so it gave the impression of there being land on each side. Rare Earth's Oriental set of stamps has both the bird and blossom branch included so I stamped them b...

Set Sail vintage galleon on hand coloured background 7x5in card - Day 124 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I was playing with some Brea Reese Watercolour inks to make the background for this 7x5in card. How I made this card:- I first of all covered a piece of white cardstock with water and then painted the sea scape scene using blue, greens, purples and yellow watercolour inks from Brea Reese. I left it to dry overnight and trimmed it so that there was no white card showing. I then used the hill part of a mask and stencilled through it using Pure Graphite Altenew ink cube. I used the galleon stamp from For the Love of Stamps Set Sail set and stamped it on the bottom part using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured it in using some brown and grey alcohol markers. I also used one of the stars stamps and stamped it all over the sky using DoCrafts Crystal White pigment ink. I also stamped the Set Sail sentiment in the sky using Rare Earth Clear Gloss ink and Sea...

Every day is an adventure - Seascape hand stamped 7x5in card Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card is a hand stamped and coloured seascape made using some Tattered Lace dies and Hunkydory "For the Love of Stamps" stamps, along with some dye based inks.. Read how I made it here.... I had coloured the topper (which was cut out using a Tattered Lace die using a white Linen cardstock which gives it a more subtle effect) ages ago using "Pinks, Greens and Blues" Distress and dye based inks, and was wondering how I could use it and after getting the " Ahoy Matey" stamps from Hunkydory, I  thought I could use some of the stamps to make it into a proper scene.  I first of all, added the "Lighthouse" to the foreground using "Onyx Black" Memento ink and then added the small "Ship" a few times to the background (using the stamp a couple of times to give an effect of distance).  I also added the "Waves" to it a...

Vintage Galleon on the high seas - 7x5in card -  Day 296 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I had coloured this background a few days ago and had just cut out this "Vintage Galleon" die-cut from Tattered Lace and had that "lightbulb" moment that they would work together - so I made this card... To make the background:- I took a panel of stamping card (from the "Stamping Must haves" collection from Craftwork Cards and coloured the whole area very lightly in shades of "blue" (mainly from Generation INX) gradually making the bottom part darker (trying to make it look like the shimmerng sea). I then masked off part of the panel at a slight angle with some paper I had torn to create the two islands (there is one behind the ship) using "Tuxedo Black" Memento ink. I then masked off both top and bottom and created the skyline again using the black ink. I also added some shadow effect to the islands using what was left o...
