Trio of stars - Happy Father's Day Teal and white A6 card

Trio of stars - Happy Father's Day Teal and white A6 card Hi Craft addicts! I wanted to do a plain and simple card for today's Monochromatic Monday and thought this Father's Day fitted the bill perfectly! Simple to make but I hope it appears stylish! How I made this card:- I cut out the three mat star layers using a dark teal card/paper (I think from Tattered Lace) - I used my Gemini machine for the larger one and my Baby Blue for the two smaller ones. I then repeated this for the main star shapes, this time in white card -  I really like the effect the dies create in the paper - if I had thought about it earlier, I could have tried to make the larger one slightly 3D by pinching the lines together. I attached the white stars to the teal mat layers using a PVA glue and then stuck them in a wavy line down the front  of an A6 white card (I am amazed at how different Companies A6 vary so much!) I took the HAPPY and Father's Day stamps from Lawn Fawn's Ha...

To a very special Man - Wine, Books and Travel 7" x 5" white card - Day 157 of my 366 day challenge

To a very special Man - Wine, Books and Travel 7" x 5" white card -  Day 157 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well it is another lovely day and so have made this simple but effective Father's Day (or male birthday) card using one of the Hunkydory toppers from the Little Book series, some gold mirror and brown card. So, first of all I glued the A6 topper sheet (from one of the " Little Book of toppers" - think it was the " Charming Chaps " one) on to some brown cardstock (which I got from Craft Creations ) and then trimmed some gold Mirror card (this is from Kanban as it is a "matter" version rather than the really gold Mirri card from Hunkydory). Once it was dry, I then added the whole thing on to a 7" x 5" white card (300/350gsm) which you can get from Hunkydory - their cards are really great quality - lovely and substantial which makes a change from other suppliers whose cards I find quite flimsy! ...

To a Super Star - to the moon and back - Astronomy themed 7" x 7" card - Day 148 of my 366 day challenge

To a Super Star - to the moon and back - Astronomy themed 7" x 7" card - Day 148 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So for today's challenge, I have used one of the card blanks from the "Gentleman's Journey" card making kit which Hunkydory produced a few months ago to make this 7" x 7" card rather than use it as it was meant to... The pieces are all die cut and so I separated them and decided which ones I would like to use for this card and eventually chose one of the side panels and the main "telescope" topper and cut the "flaps" of the side panel so it would lay flat. I also took one of Hunkydory's precut 6" x 6" square panel of gold mirror card (I did cut out another frame from the centre as it seemed a waste to cover it all up) and glued it to the centre of the front of the card.  **TOP TIP** Use a microfibre cloth to get rid of any dirty marks on the mirror card! ...

Man with trilby hat in silhouette with guitar - Celebrate! Day 146 of my 366 day challenge

Man with trilby hat in silhouette with guitar - Celebrate!  Day 146 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Day 146 of my challenge and thought another "masculine" card was in order. I made this simple but stylish (well I hope so anyway!!!) I used a 6" embossed card from the "All White" cards from Craftwork Cards as the basis and made it as follows... I first of all took one of the frames that I had left over from the "Shadows and Silhouettes" card making collection from Kanban and glued it to the front of the card leaving the embossed part free. I then detached one of the toppers in the same kit and cut it to fit using the Tattered Lace Pin dot circle dies. Before placing the topper on to the card, I took the "Celebrate" sentiment from Craftwork Cards and coloured it slightly and attached it on the card so that it would show when the topper was in place. I then used some foam pads to raise it up, making sure that it w...

Baby elephant Pollyanna Pickering 7" x 5" card - DAD - Day 145 of my 366 day challenge

Baby elephant Pollyanna Pickering 7" x 5" card - DAD -  Day 145 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Once again I have turned to the stunnng artwork from Pollyanna Pickering , and this time I have used the baby elephan t image to make this card that could be good for a birthday card or even Father's Day. So, I first of all used one of the larger toppers that comes in the card making " Walk in the Wild " kit and glued it to a small layer of black cardstock. I then took one of the smaller images that is in the Card Popper pad and trimmed it to how I wanted it. I cut out the Tonic Studios " Honeycomb Simple Screens " border in a darker Kraft card and attached it to the left hand side of the card with a small gap of the white card showing. I then replaced alternating " honeycombs " in a line down the border. I used foam pads to place the larger of the toppers to the right hand side of the card and stuck the smaller ...

Man of the Match - enjoy your Day Sports theme card - Day 144 of my 366 day challenge

Man of the Match - enjoy your Day Sports theme card -  Day 144 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So for day 144 of my 366 day challenge, I have made this "Man of the Match" - Enjoy your day 5" x 7" card - it is landscape so that it opens on the short side (or should that be long) - anyway it is different from the normal card (or even a tentfold style). I wanted to test out the latest Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Polish so painted the whole area of a pre-cut piece of white linen cardstock and let it dry - it really does make it look "metallic" and am really pleased with the result. I also repeated it on some thinner card for the panel for the 3" card and also the background for the sentiment. I then separated the toppers and sentiments from the sheet - Hunkydory really produce excellent quality items! I wasn't sure how precisely I wanted them on the card so played around for a bit until I was happy with the layout. I glued t...

Awesome DAD - stylised vintage gent 6" square white card -  Day 134 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So today's project is a 6" square card that could be used for a DAD's birthday, Father's Day or just to say how great he is! I used my Brother Scan n Cut (along with CANVAS ) to cut out nearly all of the items that I used to make this card (the only exception is the " Awesome " sentiment that I cut out using a Tonic Studio sentiment die. I must admit that I spent quite some time working out which items would look best for this card and I ultimately chose a rounded edged square, the " Moustache " and " Spectacles " and " DAD " and resized them all in CANVAS - the former measures 4" approximately which i cut out in grey cardstock, the glasses and moustache in white (they measure 3" & 2.5" respectively)  and the "DAD" lettering in black cardstock (measuring about...
