Happy Birthday - Flowers 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is another floral one using stamps, dies, alcohol markers and pencils. I used the largest of the Spellbinders' Petit Picot edge rectangle die and cut it out in Ivory Crafter's Companion 300gsm card which is the weight I prefer as it gives it some stability. I made sure that there were no waste bits left and then attached it to some Green Metallinks card from Paper Dienamics and trimmed it so there was only a narrow border. I used a dotty tape pen so that the glue only stays where the card is and there is no residue in the spaces. I then made the base card using the largest of Lisa Horton's rectangle dies, cut two pieces in white, scored one of them at the top (about 3/4" down) and added some red liner tape to the inside of the card, removed the backing and attached the two together. For the topper itself, I stamped the Peony flower image from Jane Gill's collection from Woodware Sta...

Just wanted to say... DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a DL card using stamps and a single die (and a punch).... I first of all stamped out the Orchids in Bloom stamp from Creative Expressions Designer Boutique range using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink on white card. I coloured the flowers and leaves in using the FSC Stabilo crayons trying to leave some white space within the design. Once I was happy with the outcome, I used an oval die (any will do) to cut it out and edged it with a Blue alcohol marker. I then stuck it to the front of a DL (the corners of which I had rounded using the Prism punch - from Hunkydory) using a tape pen as sometimes it comes through to the inside of the card when using a PVA glue - but that is probably because I use too much. The Just wanted to say sentiment is one preprinted from Lisa Horton and so I added it to a scrap of blue cardstock, fussy cut around it and stuck it to the bottom of the card using a t...

This is a hug in this envelope...flowers handmade card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is one I have made from scratch including the card itself... I first of all used the 15x10.5cm Creative Expressions Noble stitched die from one of Sue Wilson's collection and cut out two pieces of white card.  I hadn't at that point decided to use these as the card itself so I stamped the Dancing Daisies (from Honey Doo Crafts) directly on to one of the panels using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink and then as I had decided by then that I would be using them as a card, I had to choose how to colour them. In the end I chose the brilliant Stabilo's FSC certified crayons which I find are great for colouring in and also blend brilliantly. I used red, yellow and orange for the flowers and two shades of green for the leaves and stems. Once I had coloured it in, I scored the remaining card approximately 3/4" down from the top and then added some red liner tape, removed the backing and attached them together, making sure they ...

You make me smile... owl on branch square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a general card using just stamps and colouring pencils. I took the Little Owl stamp from Sweet Dixie and stamped it on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then coloured it in using shades of brown and green Stabilo Green Color Arty pencils which are FSC certified which is brilliant! They also blend in really well too which is a definite bonus. I then stamped the "You make me smile" sentiment just below the owl on the right hand side again using Gina K ink. I trimmed the panel to approximate 4.5" square and stuck it to a slightly larger panel of light green card (from Crafter's Companion) using PVA glue and then added that to another slightly larger panel of darker green (again from Crafter's Companion). I wanted to add some splats, so watered down the Absinthe Green Neon Cosmic Shimmer polish and spattered it with a paint brush. I then added some green self adhesive gems to the pane...

Hope you have a colourful Birthday...A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade A6 white card is one using just stamps and coloured pencils... I first of all stamped the Butterfly Bloom stamp (from the Designer Boutique range from Creative Expressions) on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I coloured the image in using Stabilo coloured pencils as they do blend quite well don't streak so much. Once I was happy with how it looked, I cut around it and edged it with a Black alcohol marker using the chisel end. Before attaching it to the front of an A6 white card, I used the Prism corner punch and rounded the corners. I used PVA glue to stick it but a tape pen would do just as well. I stamped the Colourful Birthday sentiment (from Woodware Stamps) on to some white card this time using some pink, yellow and purple inks from the Harmony range from Crafter's Companion. I attached it to some Green linen textured effect paper (again from Crafter's Companion) and added it to the front of the card with ...

Congrats Birds and Rose DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card is using a process I haven't tried before but will definitely do so again!  I first of all took a piece of black card (I used Lynda Chapman's cardstock from Creative Crafting World) and measured it so that it would fit the front of a white DL card (Landscape format).  I then took the birds, Congrats and Rose stamps from Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me Congratulations Silhouettes set and placed them onto a stamping platform, making sure they fitted the cardstock. I then stamped them on to the card using Gina K White Pigment ink and let it dry as it is sticky for some time. Once dry, I used Stabilo colouring pencils to colour the images in - I really like the subtle effect they create. I then used some scissors to add a wavy edge to the card and stuck it to the front of a white DL card (landscape) with PVA glue. Finally I used some Nuvo drops to each side to add some dimension. So if you think this sounds interesting...

With love... Beetle and flowers 5in square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Well today's latest handmade card is a different one for me and I really love this set of stamps from Creative Expressions. I used the Jewelled Beetle stamp and stamped it directly on to the front of a 5" white card, the corners of which I had rounded using my Prism (Hunkydory) punch. I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink to do this and also a stamping platform as I needed to stamp it a couple of  times to get a clean image. I then scored the right hand side 5 times at 1/2cm intervals. As I couldn't used water colour paints or alcohol markers on the card, I used two shades of green and purple Stabilo coloured pencils to colour it in. I then used a distress ink to stamp the floral spray in the top left hand corner and used a paint brush to blend it slightly. The With Love sentiment is from a Tattered Lace set and I used the Obsidian Black ink to stamp it out and then coloured it with the same green pencils.  The actual stamp is a bit bigger tha...

Just fur you... geometric dog A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I hope all is well with you! Here is another card for my 365 day challenge -  I hope you like it! I placed some Wild Spider self adhesive sheet on the reverse of Lynda Chapman's Black card and cut out the Geometric Dog out of it. I then attached it to some white card after removing the backing sheet. I burnished it with a bone folder to make sure it was firmly attached to it. Once I had done that, I took one of Tattered Lace Torn Edge rectangle dies and cut around the white card leaving a narrow border around the dog. I coloured the dog in using 3 shades of brown colouring pencils from Stabilo - they really are great to colour in and they do blend a bit too! Once I was happy with the result, I then coloured around the dog using some Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. The blue card/paper is from Crafter's Companion Textured 12x12" pad and I stuck the white card to it and cut around it trying to replicat...

You are my Happy Place... cute dog on square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts So here is another handmade card using Stamps by Me products, this time with Colouring pencils instead of Markers or watercolour paints. I first of all stamped the dog image from the Garden Safari Stamp set 2 out on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then coloured it in using Stabilo Colouring pencils and cut around it leaving a white narrow border. I also cut out a scalloped edged circle (various companies do produce this type of die) in brown card I had previously scored the front of a 5" white card using the Hunkydory's Scoreboard three times in .5" increments. I then stuck the circle on to the middle of the card using PVA glue and then placed the dog topper on top of that with foam pads. I used the You Are my Happy Place sentiment from Lisa Horton's Ticker set, added it to some of the brown card, cut around it giving it a wavy edge and placed it at the bottom of the card using foam strips. Finally, I added some Blushi...
