Happy Birthday - Flowers 7x5in card - 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is another floral one using stamps, dies, alcohol markers and pencils.
- I used the largest of the Spellbinders' Petit Picot edge rectangle die and cut it out in Ivory Crafter's Companion 300gsm card which is the weight I prefer as it gives it some stability.
- I made sure that there were no waste bits left and then attached it to some Green Metallinks card from Paper Dienamics and trimmed it so there was only a narrow border. I used a dotty tape pen so that the glue only stays where the card is and there is no residue in the spaces.
- I then made the base card using the largest of Lisa Horton's rectangle dies, cut two pieces in white, scored one of them at the top (about 3/4" down) and added some red liner tape to the inside of the card, removed the backing and attached the two together.
- For the topper itself, I stamped the Peony flower image from Jane Gill's collection from Woodware Stamps on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink.
- I then coloured it in first of all using Greens, Yellows and Orange shades of Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers and left it for a bit.
- I then used my Stabilo FSC pencils and deepened the colours until I was happy with the result.
- I trimmed it so it fitted the background frame and then rounded the corners with a Prism punch, added some Black alcohol marker to the edges and stuck it to the background with a solid tape pen.
- Finally I stamped out the Happy Birthday sentiment (I think it is from The Card Hut) on to some white card which had an outline bubble die cut on it and added it to the bottom of the card using some foam pads.
