Hummingbird shadow effect on C6 white card -  Day 267 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge (day 267) came about after I had cut out the "Songbird" die from the Couture collection and thought it would be really useful as a stencil using some inks. To make the topper:- I had cut out the "Songbird" die (from Couture by Create and Craft) out in white card and thought that it would make a really good stencil to use as a background. I took one of the Stamping card tags from Craftwork Cards (in the " Stamping Must haves ) collection and coloured over the die-cut in various places (also reversing it so the bird was looking the other way).I used a variety of green ink pads - Tm Holtz " Mowed Lawn " and Generation INX G01. Once I was happy with it, I then edged the tag using the " JG1 " green Spectrum Noir alcohol marker. To make the background for the card:- I cut out a piece of "foli...

Create your imagination - Oriental tree shaped card -  Day 243 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card is part of a series I am going to be launching on my website in the next couple of days. I have got to design these cards and gifts using both Tattered Lace images that can be found on one of their USB's which are used in conjunction with the Brother ScanNCut and Pinflair's Background Artist series. To make the topper:-  I first of all cut out the white doily shape using a Sue Wilson (Creative Expressions) die and backed it on to some Lynda Chapman's Black card and cut round it following the shape loosely. I then cut out a scalloped circle and inked it using some Generation INX ink pads, Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Altenew inks in "Pink" , "Orange" , "Green" and " Yellow" trying to make it look like the sky. For the tree, I went into Brother ScanNCut's web app CANVAS and took...

Time to Relax - Oriental grasses and crane - Day 238 of my 366 day challenge

T ime to Relax - Oriental grasses and crane -  Day 238 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Been playing around with some of the "Oriental" images that can be found on the Tattered Lace " Typically Tattered Lace patterns " USB (No. 3) along with some of Create & Craft's Topsy Turvy cardstock and some black card! To make the embellishments...   I love the "Oriental" themed images on the USB and have been making a series of cards using them (which will be a post soon) and thought I would adjust them slightly to use on this card... I first of all took the "Crane" and "grass" images and took them into Brother ScanNCut's web app CANVAS and resized them - the crane is approximately 14x8cm and the grass is about 10cm - i duplicated it and flipped it, moved it so that just overlapped the first one and welded them. i then duplicated that and made it smaller. I also added a single one ...

Be a voice, not an echo - dandelion canvas - Day 50 of my 366 day challenge

Be a voice, not an echo - dandelion canvas - Day 50 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So day 50 of my challenge has arrived (am so amazed that I have kept it going)! I was playing with some stamps and thought that the dandelion or alium image from Clarity Stamps would look great as a focal point on a canvas so.... I first of all painted the canvas ( 4x6ins approx) olive green using Tonic Studios Nuvo Acrylic paint collection with a couple of coats and left it to dry. Using the Tattered Lace oval pin point dies , I cut out one of the largest dies in white card stock. I then stamped the biggest alium in the collection using Black Onyx Memento Luxe pigment ink on it and then added some Stamps Away clear Embossing powder and heated it so that it became shiny. I added the sentiment " Be a voice not an echo " from the Altenew " Painted Inspirations " stamps and repeated the process. Once that was done, I then used the D oCrafts Pap...

Day 44 of my 366 day challenge - Hand coloured roses on Narrow DL card

Hand coloured roses on Narrow DL card -  Day 44 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! So for today's challenge I have made a quick card from a hand coloured topper I had made some time ago and thought it would make a good Mother's Day or Valentine's Day card. Anyway, I first of all, placed some of the gold Celtic ros e (very Charles Rennie McIntosh i nspired) peel off stickers on some cream hammered cardstock - you can get the latter from Craft Creations here . I then used the markers to colour the edges and placed it on to white and black cardstock. Once this was done,I used some of the backing papers from Dreamees (the rosebud one which I though matched the sticker perfectly) and placed it on to the bottom half of the card. and then used some Red Ultra strong liner tape and placed a strip of it to create a border just below the centre of the card, foiling it using the TODO red foil which you can get from Create & Craft here . I placed...

I Love you - Love birds on branch 7" x 5"card -  Day 29 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! So it is nearly the end of January and I have surprised myself by having continued with my 366 day challenge ! For this one, I have returned to the Love subject as there is still time to make (or buy) this card... So, I first of all selected the topper of 2 love birds sitting on a branch and matted it on to silver mirror card (you can buy them already cut into an A6 size now from Hunkydory) . I then wanted the image to stand out a bit more so I used some black and white Washi tape along the centre of the card and then used some red Ultra strong liner tape on either side of it and placed some TODO red foil on it - you then peel it off and you are left with a foiled strip. Using Stix2 foam pads , I then stuck the topper on to the card leaving more room at the bottom for my sentiment which I made using my Brother Scan n Cu t to make the design from their st...

I heart U DL Valentine's Day card - Day 22 of my 366 day challenge

I heart U DL Valentine's Day card - Day 22 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! As Valentine's Day is approaching, I thought for this post I would make this card - I am quite pleased as it is simple but stylish (well I think so anyway)... So, I used a DL cream linen card (which I got from Craft Creations ) as I thought the design I had in mind would work well with it. I then die cut the heart shapes using the Sara Signature Love and Romance Heart Cluster die (from Crafters Companion ).  I glued the hearts in a pattern down the card and then used a Micron pen to add some faux stitching to "attach" them. I then used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out one of their sentiments ( I heart U) and cut the letters out and glued them in the relevant places on my card. Once I was happy with the way it looked, I used some Crafter's Companion Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to add some glitter to the larger dies.  For the insert, ...
