Hummingbird shadow effect on C6 white card -  Day 267 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge (day 267) came about after I had cut out the "Songbird" die from the Couture collection and thought it would be really useful as a stencil using some inks. To make the topper:- I had cut out the "Songbird" die (from Couture by Create and Craft) out in white card and thought that it would make a really good stencil to use as a background. I took one of the Stamping card tags from Craftwork Cards (in the " Stamping Must haves ) collection and coloured over the die-cut in various places (also reversing it so the bird was looking the other way).I used a variety of green ink pads - Tm Holtz " Mowed Lawn " and Generation INX G01. Once I was happy with it, I then edged the tag using the " JG1 " green Spectrum Noir alcohol marker. To make the background for the card:- I cut out a piece of "foli...

Happy birthday - Butterfly personalised card - Day 98 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! I have been going through some of the cards that I have made over the past few weeks and haven't yet made them again so for the next couple of days (leading up to my 100th post on Saturday) I will be writing about them!! The first one is a card I made which was personalised and features the butterfly from the " Mariposa " collection from the Couture range from Create & Craft. I first of all cut out the floral panels in white cardstock and then also the butterfly frame in purple I then cut out the main butterfly in yellow from the same collection. I coloured the flowers and leaves in pink and green alcohol markers before placing them on to a square card. I then added the purple butterfly inside the frame and finally added the yellow one just gluing the body part so that the wings could stand out.  As you can see from the photo, I th...

Blank bird in purple card DL kraft card - Day 85 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Happy Easter folks - for today's post, I have made a simple but effective DL card, this time using Kraft card. I first of all cut out the left hand bird in p urple mirri card using the " Songbird " reflections die from the Songbird die collection from Create and Craft. I then cut out the relevant backing panel from the same collection and stuck the bird to it. I then added some faux stitching around it just to highlight it. and coloured a couple of the flowers with a purple alcohol marker. I also cut out two border strips in a paler Kraft colour (from Craft Creations) using the Tattered Lace " Pearl Border " dies and stuck them to the bottom of the card. I then glued the white panel on top of that. I have fallen in love with the Clear Crystal drops from the Nuvo range from Tonic Studios so added some drops to both borders and allowed them to dry cl...

Image
Hi Craft addicts... Since I missed writing my blog yesterday, I thought I better do two today (well am combining them both in one post!. I wanted to go back to see what I had made using the Raining Cars n Dogs paper collection from Graphic 45. As you can see from the photo, you can make a variety of fantastic projects and only a couple are actual cards - the rest are either home decor or stationery items. You can see how I made a lot of these on my blog - I will be making some different ones using other Graphic 45 collections over the next few weeks. If you would like me to make something special - then why not get in touch and make this a real 366 day challenge!! For today, I am looking back at a card I made using the Songbird   Couture range of dies from  Create and Craft. They really do make fantastic stylish cards and here is how I made this one... I used a 7" x 5" card and covered it in a purple tartan pape r which is from Craft Style (I thin...

Day 11 of my 366 day challenge...

Day 11 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! Well it is Day 11 of my 366 day challenge and this time I am just going to decide what I am going to do for next few challenges - so no actual making this time but what do I do? There are so many different Companies out there producing the most wonderful products that I thought it would be good to try and use one main item a day from one particular company - so there will be a die/set of dies from Tattered Lace or T onic, Couture, Creative Expressions (Sue Wilson) and Ultimate Crafts. There are toppers/papers from Hunkydory, Graphic 45, Creative Crafting World, Crafter's Companion, and Craftwork Cards (and many more...) I will also spend a couple of days looking at CD crafting and how it can be integrated into your normal crafting projects. So, with Valentine's Day approaching, I am going to concentrate on some cards and gifts for the next few days - so keep an eye out for the first one tomorrow! Than...

Day 5 of my 366 day card challenge - Floral - red, black and white Happy birthday card

Floral - red, black and white Happy birthday card Hi Craft Addicts! Well, this is day 5 of my challenge and this time am showing how to make a birthday card using the Flower Burst   Couture dies (from Create and Craf t) . I did personalise this one adding letters to the flower heads but am showing it without.... So, this time, I cut out the left hand panel (and the centre panels) using both red and white card stock and stuck the white flowery panel to the plain red one using Collall All Purpose glue as it allowed me to make sure everything was placed correctly. After it was dry, I then used pale gree n and black Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colour the flowers and stems and edged both the main panel and the "cloud" shaped in black. I added some black and white checked " washi tape " as band round the centre of the card and then placed the whole of the panel in the centre of the card using Hunkydory Foam pads to give it some height. I also ...
