Steampunk Owl mini pallet art wall hanging

Steampunk Owl mini pallet art wall hanging Hi Craft Addicts! This was really enjoyable to make as it is slightly different from the cards I usually do!  How I made this wall hanging:- The background on which the owl has been placed has been made using a "feather" die-cut as a stencil which I coloured through using "Pinks, Blues and Yellows" distress/dye based inks - Tim Holtz and Generation INX mainly... Whilst that was drying, I then cut out all of the elements - they are all dies from Tattered Lace (Owl, cogs and hats) using Silver Mirri card. I then coloured them in using "Pink, Green, and Blue" shades of alcohol markers - Spectrum Noir, Tonic Nuvo or Promarkers are great for this. I allowed these to dry overnight before handling them again as they are very slippy straight away. I placed the owl on some black card as I wanted to raise it slightly from the background and cut round it. For the wall hanging, I painted the 4 mini pa...

Fun Birthday card using a Cut, Tuck and fold circle -  Day 263 of my 366 day challenge HI Craft addicts! So for today's project ( day 263 of my 366 day challenge) -  I have used a die, some cream cardstock, some Mirri card and a sentiment. To make the topper and card:- I had cut this lovely circle using the Tattered Lace "Cut, Tuck and fold Circle" in cream card (it would be lovely cut out in Topsy Turvy card so you could have 2 tones showing. I tried it on a variety of coloured backgrounds, but thought it looked really great on this "Gold" Mirri card (from Hunkydory) especially as it was cut to size already so glued it on using "Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue". I had also cut out the background using an "animal print" design from Pollyanna Pickering's "Walk on the Wild" card making kit from Creative Crafting World . This particular design is a "Lattice " style die from Tattered Lace. This d...

Autumn Leaves with butterfly embossed 7" card -  day 254 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have been trying to used different techniques over the past few days and this is the result of using embossing folders and alcohol markers .  Needs working on but I quite like the "Autumnal" feel of this card. To make the embellishments -  I used a pre-cut sheet of "gold" coloured "Mirri" card - this particular one is Kanban;s version but Hunkydory, Creative Crafting World and Create & Craft (to name but a few) sell different weights and colours. I like this version for this effect as it is a more "matt" colour. I embossed it using the "Autumn Leaves" 8" embossing folder from Tattered Lace using my Cut n Boss. I also embossed some "Silver" too.as i wanted to see the differences when colouring them. I then cut out a butterfly (this one is a Sheena Douglass die) using both the outer an...
