Love birds MDF tag or fridge magnet - Day 21 of my 366 day challenge.. Hi Craft Addicts! For day 21 , I have chosen this small MDF tag which can be used as a fridge magnet or can be hung up and would make a lovely gift for Valentine's Day or just to say I am thinking of you! To start with I painted the tag on both sides twice (it measures 100x50mm approximately) with black Pebeo Gesso paint and waited for it to dry. I then cut the bird cage with love birds - I would prefer them to have been "free" but the door may have been open... using the Tattered Lace Birdcage Tapestry die in white cardstock and then glued it to the front of the tag. Using a red Spectrum Noir alcohol marker (DR5 ) I coloured the hearts in and then added some Glossy Accents to highlight parts of them. Chocolate - the 12 step guide wall hanging... Hi Craft Addicts! You may have seen my last blog about making a stylish wall hanging using a topper from Hunkydory   and a plaque style MDF shape from Dreamees and so here is another one I have made - this time featuring that other favourite, chocolate ... The process is exactly the same as before but this time using it landscape instead of portrait. I painted the panel (which is  22cm x 10cm ) using the  Pebeo Black Gesso  acrylic paint (I had to do it a couple of times using some  Cut n Dry foam  - this, I have discovered is  SO  much better than using a brush as it does give a smoother coat. Whilst it dried on both sides, cut a  gold foiled border  (with diamond panels) into the right length for both sides - this is from another of Hunkydory's card packs.  I then glued them to the panel just to the right (or left) of the holes either side. I was looking through some of the toppers that I have from Hunkydory and was wondering what I could do with some of the larger ones and I came across one that I really liked and then had a "lightbulb" moment and thought it would look really good as a wall decoration and as I had some MDF panels, I thought they would be great together... MDF shapes - what do with them and how easy are they to decorate/use? Hi Craft Addicts! I have been wondering how easy it is to decorate MDF so thought I would have a go - the next couple of blog posts will be "charting my progress" from the first one I made to my latest one.  Home decor is now such a popular craft and so many Companies are producing blank MDF templates of all shapes and thicknesses and if they have been laser or cut by hand that it is difficult to know which ones to use or even if it makes a difference! So, now I have some to use from the small family companies  Dreamees,   Stamps Away and Imagination Crafts ) it is time to choose what to do with them - you will have to bear with me as this is definitely a "work in progress" and you will see how I improve (or not) over the next few attempts at making some decent products! As you can see from these first ones - I do have a long way to go....though I do like the black...
