Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one using stamps and embossing powder. I first of all dusted a panel of white stamping card with an anti-static pad and then added Versamark to the Floral spray stamp from Ink Lily and rather than using a stamping platform, I placed it directly on to my desk and inked it and then placed the card on top of it, gently rubbing it all over so the ink was transferred. I then added some white embossing powder (so many Companies are now producing their own version but I have Cosmic Shimmer and Thirsty Brush amongst others). I heat set it, moving my heat gun over all of the image until I saw it had all melted. I decided to play with my Ink Lily Glimmer pens and so used the Summer collection to colour over the embossed image, spritzing them with water and used kitchen roll to dry them off - I like the effect as it gives a very subtle sparkle to the card though you can't see it well in the photo. Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card is a slightly different one today - I hope you like it... I masked off a panel of white card measuring about 5" x 3" using purple tape and used the blue and purple Himi Silk Crayons to create the background - you just scribble the colour on where you want and then used a paintbrush to blend them in until you have the desired effect.  Once it was dry I added some of the white crayon to add a bit of cloud to it. I used the Safari stencil from Creative Expressions, masking off the rows I didn't want to use and coloured through it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I rounded the edge of the panel using the Prism Hunkydory punch and did the same to the large panel of blue card. I edged the white panel with a black alcohol marker and stuck it to the blue card with PVA glue and then glued the whole thing to a 7" x 5" white card which I used as a tent fold style. It's Your Birthday... Let's Celebrate Dog having fun A6 gatefold card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a gatefold card which I have made using a mix of dies, stamps and stencils.... How I made this card:- I first of all took the kriss-kross part of the Thirsty Brush Stencil (it doesn't have a name but is in the one that has Bistro and Paris included in the pattern). I then coloured through it using the Clear Skies ink pad from Simon Hurley Ranger collection on either side of the gatefold (I used a blending tool to do this). I love this bright blue - it is so much fun! There was a gap on either side of the design  so I decided to use some foil to decorate it. I therefore used red liner tape (medium width) down the edge of the fold and placed black foil over it and burnished it until there were no glue showing. Birthday lovelinesss..lighthouse in front of sunset... A6 white linen effect card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is another I have made using stamps, Distress Crayons and dies... it is quick and easy to make too! How I made this card:- The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course (I like the effect you get if stamping directly on to it). I first of all took a small piece of white card and stamped the Lighthouse (from Pretty Quick) on to it using Black Gina K Amalgam ink, I then coloured it in using red and cream alcohol inks from the Prism range from Hunkydory. Mosaic black cat Birthday Wishes 7x5in black card.. Hi Craft addicts! Well, it is apparently National Hug a Cat day today so thought this black mosaic cat would be appropriate to write about! How I made this card:- I coloured a piece of 5" Yupo paper (from Ranger) using a variety of alcohol inks - for this particular one I used Jaquard Pinata colour inks as they are lovely and bright (especially on Yupo paper). When I was happy with the design, I let it completely dry and cut out the solid mat layer in black card from the Watercolour Cat die set from Tattered Lace. I then cut the main layer out of the background using the other die in the set along with the mat die as I wanted to cut it out totally. These dies are from their Unity collection so the mat layer cuts very close to the main topper. I glued them both together using PVA Glue, but you could add a self adhesive layer so you don't have to do this... I had cut out the frame out in Silver Mirri some time ...

Birthday Wishes... abstract stars  A6 cream deckle edge card Hi Craft addicts! I have been playing with Alcohol inks on Yupo paper (it has a great effect) and wondered what I could do with the background I had made and came up with this card... How I made this card:- I first of all took a pre cut panel of 5" x 7" Ranger Translucent Yupo paper (it is synthetic and recyclable which makes it more environmentally friendly) and added a variety of alcohol inks (again Ranger) on to it to create a varied background - see below for one like it.... I then left it to dry (though it does do that almost immediately) and then used the Synergy Die (Paper Piece 5) from Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me Range to cut it out - I did add a sheet of paper over it as I didn't want any of the colour to come off it so made 2 for the price of one! Birthday Wishes... Floral spray on sunrise background A6 cream card Hi Craft addicts! I found a whole stash of these A6 Deckle Edged cards and thought I better make use of them! How I made this card:- I created the background using a panel of white stamping card (precut panels 147x76mm are available from Sweet Dixie). I used Orange, Red and Yellow Prism ink cubes and blended them in. When I was happy with the effect, I used a paintbrush and flicked some water all over it, left it a bit and then dabbed off the excess to give a bleached effect in parts. I then stuck it on to the front of one of the cream A6 Deckle Edge cards using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I stamped the Floral Spray image (from Woodware) on to another piece of white Stamping card using Black Gina K Amalgam ink (it can be used for both watercolours or alcohol markers). Birthday Wishes blossom topper on hand coloured background 7x5in  card - day 238 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card for day 238 of my 365 day challenge is a Birthday themed one using a Craftwork Cards topper, some Hunkydory Adorable Scorable cardstock and a Tattered Lace die. How I made this card:- I made the background from some Adorable Scorable cardstock (cream) and coloured it with various inks/watercolour paints. I wasn't too sure how it would turn out but was really pleased how it did. I realise now that I should have added some fixative to it as some of the colour does come off if rubbed - I think you can used a cheap hair spray? I then cut it out using the largest of the Nested Beaded Rectangle die from Tattered Lace. The topper is one I got from Craftwork Cards coloured using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks - Yellow and Green and when I was happy with it, I removed the excess from it with some kitchen roll. Happy birthday flowers and embossed resist technique square card  Day 171 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my 365 day challenge is using the embossed/resist technique which I am coming to really like doing. How I made this card:- As you can see from the pic, this is a linen effect card and so I used the Floral Favourites flower part of the Mask to edge this square card - I had to move it around every so often as I didn't want to use the straight part of the mask. I coloured it in using Parrot Altenew Ink as it is lovely and bright. I then embossed the flowers and leaves from the Floral Favourites stamps set using Versamagic ink on to some white stamping card and heat embossed them with Seafoam White embossing powder. I then coloured the whole panel with a mix of purple, greens,and blues Tim Holtz Distress inks. I tried to blend them as much as possible so each colour change was seamless.
