Congrats... A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this fun card inspired by a video I saw from Gina K Designs on You Tube... I took a piece of white card and added the squares to it directly using a variety of ink pads from Aladine's Izinks - not being too worried that some of them were quite juicy and added a bit more colour in the corner. I left it to dry and then placed it on to a stamping platform and taped it down. I placed the three different stamps (Congratulations stamp set from Stamps by Me) on to the design, picked them up and inked them with Gina K Obsidian Black ink and pressed down. I did this a couple of times as I wanted the silhouettes to really stand out. I cut the panel to about 3x5in and rounded the corners with a Hunkdory punch and then stuck it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card, trimmed it and then rounded those corners too. I then attached it to the front of an A6 white card (I had also rounded the corners of that t...

Thank you for your kindness... London silhouette A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is one using just stamps and dye based inks.... I created the background using Red, Yellow and Pink Izink Dye based inks - I must admit they do blend really well though the pads tend to raise when using a brush. When I was happy with the result, I spritzed it with some water and dabbed the excess off. Once it was dry, I decided not to take the London skyline and birds stamps off their carrier sheet and placed it directly on to my desk and inked it with Gina K's Obsidian Black ink and then placed the piece of card on top of it and rubbed it gently to make sure that the image was transferred correctly. I saw that Creative Expressions had an image of an aeroplane in one of their collections so stamped that towards the top again using Gina K's ink. I then used a guillotine to trim it to fit the front of an A6 white card and rounded the corners of both with my Prism (Hunkydory) punch. I also edged the topper with a black alcohol ma...

On Your Special Day... Sunflowers DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's is a bright and cheerful Birthday card using stamps and dies for my 365 day challenge. I used the Slimline Delicate square stripes die designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions to cut out this panel from some hand coloured cardstock (using Greens and yellow water reactive inks). I removed all the waste and fussy cut around it and attached it to the front of a white DL card (the corners of which I had rounded using the Prism punch) using Crafter's Companion Dotty tape pen. I stamped out the Sunflower design on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and coloured it in using Stabilo pencils. I fussy cut around it and then edged it with a black alcohol marker and then added it to the top half of the card with some thin foam pads. I also stamped out the On your Special Day sentiment (from Stamps by Me) on to some white card, fussy cut around it, edged it with an alcohol marker and attached it to the bottom of the card wi...

So happy for you.... flower and leaves 7in square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this large flower card - I hope you like it! I first of all took a piece of white card and painted the background using various pinks, yellows and greens Be Creative Twilights watercolour paints (they are metallic which is hard to see in the photo). Once it was dry, I placed the cardstock in a stamping platform and stamped the large flower stamp from Stamps by Me with Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then added the leaves by stamping the image several times around the flower again using the Gina K ink. Once I had finished the stamping, I rounded the corners using my Prism punch and attached it to some purple textured card (from Crafter's Companion) using PVA glue. I also rounded the corners with the same punch and stuck it to the front of a 7" square card (again rounding the corners). I used the So Happy for you sentiment stamp on some white stamping card, cut around it with a wavy edge an...

Congrats Birds and Rose DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card is using a process I haven't tried before but will definitely do so again!  I first of all took a piece of black card (I used Lynda Chapman's cardstock from Creative Crafting World) and measured it so that it would fit the front of a white DL card (Landscape format).  I then took the birds, Congrats and Rose stamps from Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me Congratulations Silhouettes set and placed them onto a stamping platform, making sure they fitted the cardstock. I then stamped them on to the card using Gina K White Pigment ink and let it dry as it is sticky for some time. Once dry, I used Stabilo colouring pencils to colour the images in - I really like the subtle effect they create. I then used some scissors to add a wavy edge to the card and stuck it to the front of a white DL card (landscape) with PVA glue. Finally I used some Nuvo drops to each side to add some dimension. So if you think this sounds interesting...

Rose and pocket watch Life is better... laughing 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card is one using Stamps by Me products for my 365 day challenge. I had cut out a circle in a piece of card for another project and decided to use it as  a mask to colour another piece of white card using some "grungy" colour ink pads (Mainly Tim Holtz) I then stamped the Rose and pocket watch image (from a Stamps by Me collection) on top of the the ink using Gina K Black Obsidiain ink. I used Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Crystal Tints (Orange and yellow) as paints to colour the stamped image.  I trimmed a piece of the wood effect Stamps by Me paper pad I had to fit the front of a 7x5" white card (leaving a narrow border all around). Using the same Crystal Tints I coloured the card that had the circle aperture in it until I was happy with the result. I stuck it to the stamped it image using PVA glue and then attached that to some black card which I then trimmed to fit the card. Once I had glued the whole topper panel o...

Hello! Birds in tree with nest of eggs 7x5in White card - 365 Day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I wasn't quite sure how this card would turn out but in the end I was pleased with the result - I hope you like it too! I stamped out the birds image out on to some white stamping card approximately 4.5" x 3.5" (this is a Stamps by Me set) using the Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then coloured the nest and birds using Spectrum Noir Triblenders brown pens (there are 2 different ones in the Deep Blends collection. I used a Green Triblender to colour in the leaves and twigs (again from the Deep Blends collection). I thought it looked a bit stark, so I used Tim Holtz's Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide ink to colour the white card, trying to get an Ombre effect by making it darker at the top. I then edged it with a Black alcohol marker using the Chisel end and stuck it to the front of a 7x5in white card. Finally, I took the Hello Sentiment stamp from Lisa Horton Essential Words set and stamped it at the bottom of the card again using Gina K's ink. I ho...

Happy Birthday Flowers and leaves hand coloured DL card - 365 Day Challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I had good fun making as I used fibre tip pencils instead of Alcohol markers or watercolour paints. This is a really beautiful stamp from the Joy in Every Day stamp from Toni Darroch's Stamp By Me collection and I stamped it on to some white stamping card using Gina K's Obsidian Black amalgam ink. I then used some fibre tip pencils to colour the image in - they are from Stabilo and do colour well but am also going to try using the same stamp but with either alcohol markers or watercolour paints. Once I was happy with how it looked (though I am), I cut around it giving it a wavy edge and attached it to a strip of red cardstock (this is the Textured version from Crafter's Companion) and rounded the corners using Hunkydory's Prism corner rounder and attached it using some PVA glue to the front of a white DL card, the corners of which I also rounded. I then added some red Nuvo drops to either corner. The Happy Birthday sentiment is ...

Something beautiful...horizon landscape at sunset 7x5in card

Image
Something beautiful...horizon landscape at sunset 7x5in card Hi Craft addicts! I was really pleased with how this card turned out and it was fairly simply to do too using just stamps and some inks. How I made this card:- I created the sunrise/sunset background paper using Orange, Yellow and Red dye based and Distress Inks (from Tim Holtz, Prism or Rare Earth). I tried to blend them in so that it looked as if the sunrise or sunset was just happening. I used white stamping card for this part which measured 3" x 4.5" Once I was happy with it, I edged it with a black alcohol marker so I didn't have to add another layer to the card. I then stamped the trees stamp (from Rare Earth) on to the bottom half of the background using Gina K Jet Black ink (as it takes both watercolour and solvent based products). To colour the trees in, I used a couple of green alcohol markers ( you could also use water colour paints too).  I found the flock of birds stamp in another...
