There's no-one who deserves a Birthday... DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge was a fun one to make and again didn't have a die in sight! I used a DL card for this design and used a Hunkydory Prism punch to create the inverted edge to the corners. I cut a strip of white card measuring the length of the DL card and approximately 1.5" inw width and coloured it using Solent Green (Nuvo), Salty Ocean (Tim Holtx Distress Oxide) and a Yellow ink pad from Aladine Izinks. Once I was happy with the blending, I stamped the balloons image (from the Birthday Bears Box stamp and die set from Crafter's Companion Gemini range) three times, starting with the middle and then the top and bottom. I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink to do this as it is a hybrid ink and so can be used with either watercolours or alcohol inks. I then took a paint brush and bleached parts of them with some water, dabbing off the excess. I then added some of Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink on to a glass...

With Love Balloon in flight silhouette A6 card - Day 220 of my 365 day challenge

With Love Balloon in flight silhouette A6 card -  Day 220 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is mix of Tattered Lace dies, Kuretake Watercolours for the background and a stamped sentiment! How I made this card:- I took a piece of white linen card (the back of an old card) and attached the Art Deco Tattered Lace frame which I had cut out in black card using Midas Touch Sticky dots. I coloured inside the frame using various blue shades of Kuretake Watercolour paints trying to make it as atmospheric as possible! I let it dry overnight as I find using a heat gun makes it curl up too much. I then stuck it to the front of an A6 white linen effect card (so they matched) using a mix of finger lift tape and a wet glue. The balloon and the house are both Tattered Lace dies and I cut them out in black card. I added a tiny bit of yellow card to the back of the house where the windows are to look like lights. I then used the Midas Touch Sticky Dots t...

Let Your Dreams Take Flight - balloons over lake at twilight window card - Day 113 of my 365 day challenge

Let Your Dreams Take Flight - balloons over lake at twilight window card - Day 113 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I hadn't used the paper pad "Twilight Forest" that Hunkydory produced some time ago so thought it was about time I did and I am quite pleased with the way this card turned out.. How I made this card:- I first of all took the window apertures out of the white card and separated the frames and the solid parts (which I will use another time). I then coloured the frame using Tea Dye Tim Holtz Distress Ink placing a blank piece of paper behind it to protect the inside. I cut a piece of acetate to fit the window and stuck it on the reverse using red liner tape. I then added the two white frames to opposite corners on both sides of the cards so you can't see the glue. For the inside of the card, I used a sheet of the Twilight Forests 5" paper pad and using the Up, Up and Away For The Love of Masks stencils, added two balloons...

Just a note to lift your spirits balloons C6 card - Day 43 of my 365 day challenge

Just a note to lift your spirits balloons C6 card -  Day 43 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card was made as my project for day 43 of my 365 challenge - once again it is using one of the stamp sets from Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps Collection (Up and Away) and Tattered Lace die. How I made this card:- This is a C6 white linen effect card and as I didn't want to have anything showing through it (as I would be using alcohol markers as well as inks), I cut a panel 145x85mm approx in white stamping card. I used what was left on my sponge daubers (blues and greens) to create the sky and land scene allowing it to be quite "pastel" in effect. I let that dry and concentrated on the balloons which are stamped once again on stamping card, this time using Versafine Onyx Black ink and a clear embossing powder which I heat set so that I could use alcohol markers to colour them in. You can of course use any colours for these bal...

Love is in the air... balloon hearts dl card -  Day 14 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well I seem to be making more DL cards recently - they do make you think a bit more as to how things can be made and this time, I have made this Love is in the Air one - think it reminds me of those cartoons that you used to see... I had also decided that there should be a red, white and blue theme to it too.... How I made this card:- I had an part of an old dl card and trimmed it to make a panel for the front of the card which measures 19.5x9.5cm approximately. I first of all stamped the cute couple (from For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory) using Versafine's Black Onyx ink on either side of the panel and coloured them in using Zig Clean Color Pens (grey, orange, red and pink). I then stamped them out again on some spare card and cut them out to use as a mask and stamped the Hearts Balloons first in Altenew's ink - it is such a beautiful blue I can't stop using...

Just for you cute elephant reveal it DL aperture card -  Day 13 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge is one that I have made using the reveal it stickers from Stamps By Me over some hand coloured balloons and elephant which I stamped using the Stamps By Me stamps. How I made this card:- I have had these stamps (and reveal it stickers) from Stamps by Me for ages and thought it was about time I used them so first of all I used some Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp them out on good quality stamping card, adding some clear embossing powder and embossed the design. I then coloured it in using various shades of Grey alcohol markers adding some pink to the inside of the elephant's ears and feet. I also coloured the hat in red and blue markers and the balloons to match his/her hat! Once dry, I cut the elephant and balloons out and then separated them as I wanted the balloons to be in the aperture of the card. When they were dry, I added the...

Hip, Hip Horray - Celebrate Happy New Year - DL balloons card - Day 366 of my 366 day challenge- Day 366 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a celebratory card - I have completed my 366 day challenge and am now thinking as to what to do for my next one starting tomorrow! This one is made by using some Peel Off stickers, some embellishments from Craftwork Cards and a DL card from Hunkydory! How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the pink "serrated edged" border strip using a template on CANVAS and cut it out using my Brother ScanNCut. Before I glued all of it down, I added some twine to the "Hip,Hip Hooray" tag and placed part of it under the strip so that it was attached. I had coloured the "Champagne Flutes" peel off stickers using alcohol markers and cut it out using a Spellbinders ornate frame die  and added it to the middle of the card using foam pads. I then used some "Balloons" from the ...

New baby - elephants and balloons 5" x 7" card -  Day 343 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a "New Baby" 7" x 5" card which has been personalised with the new baby's name. I have used various dies (including Tonic Studios and Tattered Lace) on some "Tear and Share" cardstock from Kanban. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out out the small "elephant" in the "orange" cardstock (which is the reverse of the "Yellow" Tear and Share A3 one). I then cut out the large panel using a torn edge die rectangle (the largest one) and a smaller square in the "orange" and a circle in the "yellow" I matt and layered them all on top of each other and stuck them (using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue onto a 5" x 7" white card which I turned on its' side to make it landscape. I then cut out the "Baby" balloons in the "Yellow" and cut ...
