Love is the real magic... dragonfly at sunrise 7x5in topfold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a topfold card using dies, inks and stamps.... I first of all created the background using Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Neon Polishes (pink, yellow and orange) watering them down so I could blend them in to create the sunrise effect. I cut out the dragonfly using the Dragonfly Lattice die from Stamps by Me and some of Lynda Chapman's black card and some self adhesive backing sheet (removing one layer of the backing sheet first). I then removed the remaining backing sheet and carefully placed it on top of the background and trimmed it so it fitted perfectly. I then placed it on to the front of a 7" x 5" white card (topfold) with some foam pads to give it some height. I had previously stamped out the Love is real magic sentiment which is from the Enchanted Heroes collection from Sheena Douglass on to some white card using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink, fussy cut around it and then stuck it on to a background th...

U is for Unicorn Z fold Birthday A6 card

U is for Unicorn Z fold Birthday A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is a slightly more creative one I think in that it meant working out how to do the Z fold part of it! How I made this card:- I am still using up these A6 white Deckle Edge cards and so first of all scored the front of one of them using a scoreboard and folded it back on itself. I then repeated the process with the other card and then trimmed about an inch from the bottom of it. I then folded the front panel so that part of the inside wasn't showing and coloured the top 2/3rds of both the inner and outer card using Orange and Yellow Prism inks blending them in until I was happy with the shading. Using the strip that I had previously cut from the spare card, I then turned it over so that the longer edge was on the left hand side and the shorter one on the right. I then coloured them with a Blue dye based ink pad (Prism or Rare Earth) leaving one quarter of it white. I glued the stri...

Believe in Magic with ghost and cat square card  Day 292 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my challenge is one that could be used for Halloween but could be for anyone who likes Harry Potter etc. How I made this card:- I cut out the background mat using the largest die from one of Paper Boutique's Wonderfully Wicked set that came out recently using some orange Dapple cardstock from Create & Craft's latest Core Collection. I then cut out the Believe in Magic layer using the die from Tattered Lace in Lynda Chapman's black card. As it cuts within the card, I then cut around it in randomly! Using PVA glue, I then stuck it to the mat trying to centraliseit. I then glued the whole panel on to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card. I felt it needed something else so I cut out the Ghost and Cat in white card and stuck them to the top left and bottom right hand corner. A nd there you are  - a homemade/handmade card that ...

Magic - daisy flower C6 white linen effect card - day 114 of my 365 day challenge

Magic - daisy flower C6 white linen effect card -  Day 114 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a simple but striking card using some Tattered Lace dies and a Hunkydory For the Love of Masks stencil. How I made this card:- I first of all scored a C6 white linen effect card (with the fold at the top) 4 times on the right hand side and then diagonally - I let the score go over the top row deliberately reducing the gap towards the bottom. I then cut out the Daisy flowers in both dark and light blues (one being smaller of the other) and placed the lighter one on top of the darker one. I had cut out the stem (well it is a die cut from Lawn Fawn) in green card and glued it on the right hand side of the front of the card. I then stuck the daisy on top of that using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue - some of it went over the edges so I trimmed them to fit. I had also cut out the leaves again using a Tattered Lace die in a different colour green cardstoc...

Thank you Fairy Much - Unicorn and flowers 7x5in card -  day 74 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well the sun is shining (for a change) and I have made this 7x5in card using some dies, pattered paper and Wink of Stella pens. How I made this card:- I first of all  cut out the ornate lattice rectangle die (Spellbinders) using some dotty paper/card and then stuck it to a sheet of purple card and trimmed it so there was a narrow border. I then cut out the unicorn in white card and glued it to the centre of the main panel. I stuck the whole mat and layer on to a 7" x 5" White Hammered effect card towards the right hand side using a wet glue. I took one of the flower stamps from the Flutterbye Fairies stamp collection (For the Love of Stamps range from Hunkydory) and stamped it twice at the top and bottom of the left hand side using Versafine Onyx Black ink and coloured them in using a purple Wink of Stella pen.  I also coloured the Unicorn's mane us...
