Unwind... Hot air balloon in silhouette on hand coloured background card - Day 249 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is another hand coloured one along with a Tattered Lace die... How I made this card:- I first of all coloured a white label tag (you can get a pack of 20 really cheaply) using Tim Holtz Distress Oxides - yellow, orange and green -but you could use watercolour pens or even the Spectra Bleeding Art Tissue to create the background though these could make the paper/card to "cockle"... I then cut out the Hot Air Balloon (from Tattered Lace) from black cardstock (I used Lynda Chapman's) and attached it to the label using Midas Touch Sticky dots. I edged the panel using a black alcohol marker (I think I left it the wrong way up as I can see it is a bit patchy). Hunkydory used to have pre cut A6 cards in Adorable Scorable but you could easily cut your own card to fit and so I had this gold...

Just Because blue and white floral 7x5in card -  Day 242 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I am really pleased with how this floral themed card turned out - monochromatic using blue and white for day 242 of my 365 day challenge. How I made this card:- I cut out the panel behind the flower using a Spellbinders Create a Card die, and keeping the card in it, I coloured through the die using a variety of blue Distress and dye based inks (Tim Holtz and Altenew). Once I was happy with the blending, I took the card out of the die and added it to some blue Hunkydory Flexiweight card and trimmed round it to leave a small border. I cut the sunflowers out from White cardstock, once again using a Tattered Lace die. I then attached it to the main panel using the Midas Touch Sticky dots. I drew two lines across the bottom of the card using a Tonic Studios black alcohol marker - I like these pens as they don't actually bleed through to the back of the card if done light...

Happy Birthday with butterflies on an ombre background Kraft card - Day 217 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So today's card is a simple but effective birthday card using a Tattered Lace die and an ombre background which I coloured myself. How I made this card:- I cut out the Happy birthday sentiment from some black card (it is a Tattered Lace die). I then measured a piece of cream linen effect cardstock so that it was slightly smaller than the 135mm Kraft card (120mm) and blended Red, Dark Red, some black, Yellow and Orange so that the was an Ombre effect that looked like a sunset - I really like the way the linen effect gives it a different texture. Once it was dry, I stuck it on to a slightly larger piece of white card (about 125mm) and then attached them both to the 135mm Kraft card. I then used some Midas Touch sticky dots to attach the Butterfly sentiment to the front of the card, at a slight angle so it fitted the card. I used some Morning Dew Nuvo...

Thank You, Birthday and Special day A6 white set of 5 cards -  Day 210 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's project are a set of 5 different (but similar) white A6 cards that I have made using Craftwork Cards, Hunkydory. Catherine Pooler and Altenew inks. How I made this card:- The cards are made in the same way and so I will go through the method for the Thank You butterflies and flowers card (middle row right). I used the Thank You hexagon resist topper and coloured over it using a variety of inks - pinks, blues and greens from Catherine Pooler, Tim Holtz and Altenew Dye based inks - they are really juicy so you only need to use a little. Once I was happy with the colouring, I used a kitchen roll and removed the excess inks so that the white stood out. I then cut a panel of green paper (from Hunkydory) slightly smaller than the card itself and stuck it to the front of it.  I used a strip of coordinating (darker shade) of paper stuck it in the...

Dream Big.. Flowers on rainbow background - emboss resist 7x5in card - Day 206 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I really love the effect of stamping an image with Versamagic and then heat set it with a coloured (in this case white) and then colouring over it.... here is how I made this card.. How I made this card:- I took a piece of card and trimmed it so it measured 90x140mm (approx) and rubbed my anti-static bag over it to remove any "debris" and then stamped the flower design on to it using Versamagic ink (you can also use Rare Earth's Clear Glass ink or any other sticky ink). I then covered it with True White Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder, removed the excess and then heat set it using my heat gun. Once it was cool, I then used a variety of distress/dye based inks (from Tim Holtz and Altenew), moving from blue, pink, purple, red, orange, yellow and green - rainbow colours but not necessarily in the right order!. New baby washing line with hand coloured background C5 card - Day 183 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well craft addicts, I am now half way through this year's challenge and I have made this New Baby card - well I made a couple of them and someone preferred the other one! How I made this card:- I first of all used a mix of purple. blue and yellow inks (Catherine Pooler and Tim Holtz) to colour through the footprint part of the For The Love of Masks Mask - trying to alternate the colours and position of them as I covered it. Whilst that was drying, I then coloured a smaller piece of white stamping card using blues and greens to create sky and grass effect and again let it dry. I then stamped the washing line posts on to the card using Versafine Onyx Black ink on either side of the card and added a line across them using a Fineliner pen. I will always stand by your side Flamingos and tropical things C6 card -  Day 175 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I hope you had a great weekend! Today's card is a bright and sunny one featuring flamingos, pineapples and leaves! How I made this card:- I first of all placed both of the flamingos on to an acrylic block and using Onyx Black Versafine ink stamped them on to a precut white oval layer that Hunkydory produce. I then coloured them in using pink shades of Zig Clean Color water color pens. Once I was happy with the colouring, I then used a sponge to add the blue ink around them (I used Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress ink). I left a lighter area around the flamingos, I stamped the sentiment (again from the Flamingo Party set of stamps from For The Love of Stamps) using the Versafine ink above the flamingos. Thank you flowers and leaves open gatefold card -  Day 155 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a result of this C6 pink gatefold card having been in the sun too much and so the edges had been bleached a bit and rather than throwing it away decided to see how it would work if I turned the front panels inside out! How I made this card:- I took this C6 pink gatefold card and folded the front panels in on themselves (towards the outer edges) and scored them well. I then cut out the 3 diamond nesting shapes in red and white gingham paper (Tattered Lace dies) (the largest is about 130x70mm) and attached the first one directly on to the inside of the card, and the next two on top of that using foam tape to give them dimension. The Flower is one from Altenew's Folksy Florals stamps/dies collection and I stamped it on to some white stamping card using Blue, Green and yellow ink pads directly on to the stamp.
