Two Christmas Cards today - Day 336 of my 365 day challenge

Image
Two Christmas Cards today -  Day 336 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! i have made two cards today - both DL but totally different in design - one using a topper, the other a die-cut.... How I made these cards:- Card 1 (top) I painted this background some time ago using various Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints, creating this sunrise/sunset background and thought it would be great to use with these Three Kings die cuts (from Tattered Lace) which I cut out of black card. I trimmed the background so that it would fit a DL card (leaving enough room on the right hand side) with black alcohol marker. I then edged it with a black alcohol marker and glued it to the left hand side of the card. I used Midas Touch Sticky dots to attach the Three Kings to the panel trying to make it look as if they were travelling in a row. I then cut out the Season's Greetings sentiment (again from Tattered Lace) in black and glued it to the right hand side of the card. ...

Polar bears (Pollyanna Pickering design) narrow dl card -  Day 336 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Polar Bears are the theme today - this is a really lovely design from the renowned wildlife artist from Pollyanna Pickering which I have used on a narrow DL white card. The card is a lot whiter than the photo shows. How I made this card:- I used this lovely image of "Polar bears" from the "Snow and Ice" paper kit from Pollyanna Pickering (Creative Crafting World) and mat and layered it on to some black card which I had cut out using a Tattered Lace oval die. I cut two pieces of the "Snowflake" paper and placed them on either end of a narrow DL card - I had lightly coloured them with some "green" inks (Generation INX stamp pad) to  differentiate them from the card itself. I then added the topper to the middle of the card using some Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue. To decorate it a bit more, I added some "Key Lime" Jewel ...

Leopard on a branch small wall hanging -  day 247 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts Pollyanna Pickering's beautiful artwork features once again in this project for day 247 of my 366 day challenge. How to make this wall hanging... I first of all took a small MDF "Plaque" (it measures 105x90mm ) and painted it on both sides using the "Chocolate Bronze" Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Guilding polish. it gives a really great textured feel to the MDF Whilst waiting for it to dry, I cut two pieces of the "animal print" backing paper I had left over from the "Walk in the Wild" Card kit to fit (95x85mm) and once it was dry glued them both to each side. I then took two of the "Leopard" image from the accompanying "Walk in the Wild" paper popper pad and cut around the image so that it looked like a banner. Before gluing one of them down, I attached some "wired twine " to the centre of th...

Set of 3 A6 cards Wildlife themed (Pollyanna Pickering) - Day 190 of my 366 day challenge

Set of 3 A6 cards Wildlife themed (Pollyanna Pickering) -  Day 190 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! For today's challenge, I have made a set of 3 A6 (105x148cm) cards using the fabulous images from Pollyanna Pickering "Walk in the Wild" card making kit. The first card is the "Born to be Wild" card using one of the "Wolf" images in the set - I first of all took one sheet of acetate ( double sided - gold/silver leafy from Hunkydory) and cut it to fit the front of the card. I then added some red liner tape to the top of the card ( tent fold style ) and added the acetate to it. I then glued the border on top of it so you can't see the tape. For the topper itself,  I glued the wolf image on to some matte "gold" mirror card (from Kanban ) using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue as it sticks well and cut it so there was a very narrow border. I then added some foam pads to it and stuck it to the top left hand corner. For th...

Take it Easy - Leopard on branch - Pollyanna Pickering - 5" x 7" card - Day 180 of my 366 day challenge

Take it Easy - Leopard on branch - Pollyanna Pickering 5" x 7" card -  Day 180 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So for today's challenge, I have decided to use one of the inserts from the " Walk in the Wild " insert collection from Pollyanna Pickering that Creative Crafting Wolrld sells. I really love this image as it is so striking and thought it might be an idea to cut it into different sections and see what happens! So, I first of all cut the 2 patterned edges off and glued them to either side of the card so that it matched on both sides. I then cut off the main image and added it to some cardstock (any will do but I used Lynda Chapman's black version) and separated the leopard section from the 2 black parts. I then took the section that had the sentiment " Take it Easy " on it and turned it upside down to make sure first that it was in the right place. I cut it out and using a tape runner, attached it to the inside of...

Leopard on branch Pollyanna Pickering desgn C6 Kraft card - Day 156 of my 366 day challenge

Leopard on branch Pollyanna Pickering desgn C6 Kraft card -  Day 156 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So for today's card, I have once again used the leopard on a tree image from Pollyanna Pickering's "Walk in the Wild" popper paper pad (from Creative Crafting World).  This time I have used it with a small C6 Kraft card and one of the accompanying inserts from the same collection. I cut the front of the card in half so the inside of the card was showing and then wondered how I could use the insert**  and as you can see I have been able to decorate the card totally with just one sheet (with some left over). I glued a section of the fur part lengthways along the front of the card (both sides) and trimmed the sentiment (which reads " Have a great day " section to fit the inside of the card so it all matched with it reading sideways to make it slightly different. I also added another section of the fur design to the top of th...

Born to be Wild  - Leopard on branch (Pollyanna Pickering) C5 fancy edged card - Day 151 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have once again used this stunning image from Pollyanna Pickering's "Walk in the Wild" Paper popper pad to make this card. I first of all decided that this fancy edged (wavy) C5 card would make a good basis for it so took out all the bracket shapes and the fold of the card. I then cut out the border strip (Tonic Studios "Beautiful Buckle Strip " die set in black cardstock and glued it along the centre of the card. I then placed the topper in the middle of it using foam pads to raise it up and added one of the "Born to be Wild" sentiments that come in the pad to the right of it. I also added some " Pale Gold " Nuvo crystal drops around the edges of the brackets. For the inside of the card, I used one of the matching inserts - "You're one in a million"   that comes with the ca...
