Have a wonderful day.... abstract flower and leaves tall card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this tall DL card I have made from scratch using dies and stamps.... I first of all took one of the larger Shabby Edge Tall rectangle dies from the Tattered Lace range and cut out two pieces of card (you need an A4 cutting machine to do this and I used my Kit n Caboodle Pro-cut). I scored one piece of the card about 3/4" from the top (down the long edge but you could do it at the top to make a tent fold version). I added some red liner tape, removed the backing and then placed them both together (making sure that they matched) to make the card. I took another of the Shabby Edge dies which was slightly smaller and cut out another rectangle, this time in this purple colour paper (from the World of Paper by Creative Crafting World) and stuck it to the front of the card using a solid tape pen. I used another piece of Sheena Douglass's Willow White cardstock and placed it in a stamping platform (t...

Hello there my friend... gnome and toadstools 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge has been made from scratch and here is how I did it..... I first of all took the 7x5in die (from Creative Expressions Noble Rectangle die collection designed by Sue Wilson) and cut two pieces of white card and attached them together by scoring about 3/4" from the top of one of them, adding some red liner tape and sticking them together. I then cut out two further pieces, the mat layer in Lynda Chapman's Black card and then one in white. I stuck the black mat layer on to the front of the card and then coloured the white piece using various Izink Dye based ink pads to create a magical looking background. I was playing with the latest Gnome collection that Crafter's Companion's Nature Collection - Gnome Home and Gnome child and created the larger of the toadstools using the dies and stencils and some of Izink ink (what was left on my brushes). I stuck the toadstool towards the bottom of the coloure...

Just for you.. Have a wonderful day Giraffe in frame card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun, quick and easy one using a Giraffe Creative Expressions stamp. The Giraffe stamp is a red rubber one with a co-ordinating die from a Wildlife range from Creative Expressions and so I stamped it out on to some white stamping card with Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then used some Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers to colour the image in using some neutral colours for the Giraffe itself. Once I was happy (well I wasn't really as I thought the frame needed to be redone..) I decided not to use the die but fussy cut it out myself. I stuck the topper to the front of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card (now discontinued from Create & Craft), the corners of which I had rounded with the Prism punch from Hunkydory. I then cut around the two sentiment from Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World and attached it to the bottom of the card with some foam pads. So if you think this sounds interesting th...

Happy Birthday - cute mouse in silhouette 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a cute Birthday card that could be sent to anyone you like! I used the mouse silhouette Paper Cuts Die from Creative Expressions and cut it out using Lynda Chapman's Black Card. I created the sunrise background on some smooth cardstock using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Oranges, Reds and Yellows) or you can used watercolour paints to colour the background too! I then used some PVA glue to attach the silhouette die cut on to it and edged it with a black alcohol marker. I rounded the corners of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card (which are now discontinued from Create & Craft) - I used a punch from Hunkydory's Prism range. I then took a piece of Orange and white dotty paper, rounded the corners and attached a strip of black card to the middle of it (approximately 4.75" x 1") and then stuck both to the front of the card. I used some thin foam pads to attach the topper panel to the centre of the card to...

Birthday wishes... Giraffes in silhouette on hand coloured background - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card is a slightly different one today - I hope you like it... I masked off a panel of white card measuring about 5" x 3" using purple tape and used the blue and purple Himi Silk Crayons to create the background - you just scribble the colour on where you want and then used a paintbrush to blend them in until you have the desired effect.  Once it was dry I added some of the white crayon to add a bit of cloud to it. I used the Safari stencil from Creative Expressions, masking off the rows I didn't want to use and coloured through it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I rounded the edge of the panel using the Prism Hunkydory punch and did the same to the large panel of blue card. I edged the white panel with a black alcohol marker and stuck it to the blue card with PVA glue and then glued the whole thing to a 7" x 5" white card which I used as a tent fold style. I then took the Giraffe die from the same set as the ...

Celebrate your Birthday cute girl on abstract background 7x5 landscape card

Celebrate your Birthday cute girl on abstract background  7x5 landscape card Hi Craft addicts! I have had the rainbow cardstock from Kanban for ages and thought I better try and use it up so decided to use it with this cute girl image from Tattered Lace. How I made this card:- I cut about 2" off the front of a 5" x 7" white landscape card with either a paper trimmer or guillotine. I then attached some medium width ultra strong red liner tape to the edge and another to the back edge (which is now showing through). I took off the protective backing off the front one and then added some Glitter flakes (Honey Doo Sunrise) and pressed it into the glue and continued do that until I couldn't feel any stickiness to the touch. I then burnished it to remove any excess flakes with a brush and then repeated the process on the back part of the card. I cut the rainbow abstract design card using a Rectangle picot edged die (I think this is a Tattered Lace one) ...

Sending Lots of love... dragonfly on wood effect background A6 card

Sending Lots of love... dragonfly on wood effect background  A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Today's handmade card is one I made using a background coloured using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons, a Paper Boutique Dragonfly die and some backing papers from Hunkydory.. How I made this card:- I had painted a background using Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Pearl Colours paints along with some Creative Expressions Iridescent Shimmering Watercolour (Perfect Pearls) paints. Once it was dry, I cut out the Dragonfly wings and body (from The Paper Boutique's Dragonflies and a Bee set) and then the body out from some black self adhesive paper and attached the latter to the former (if that makes sense). I had also coloured a background out on some white Yupo paper using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and I cut out a circle from it using a Tattered Lace Die. I then used the Wood Grain effect stamp from the For The Love of Stamps range by Hunkydory to stamp over it (using Gina K Black Amalga...

Hello - Champagne bottles and glasses silhouette on black and white background A6 card

Image
Hello - Champagne bottles and glasses silhouette on black and white background A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Well it is Monochrome Monday so have made this black and white card using Tattered Lace dies and a stamp from Creative Expressions... How I made this card:- I cut out the Champagne Glasses and bottle die in white card (it is from Tattered Lace) - I didn't colour it in as I wanted to use it as a silhouette version. I cut a panel of black and white spotty paper (this is from a 12" Trimcraft paper pad) to fit an A6 white linen effect card - it is 5" x 3.5" approximately and stuck it on using a tape pen - I didn't use a wet glue as I find it sometimes shows through. I then attached the die-cut in the middle of it using a  PVA glue. The Hello sentiment is a stamp from the Modern Classic Sentiments set from Creative Expressions and I used Black Gina K Amalgam ink to stamp it in the middle of the label. As I wanted to add a bit of colour to the ca...

Relax, Calm, Unwind Sunflower mosaic style square card

Relax, Calm, Unwind Sunflower mosaic style  square card  Hi Craft addicts! Today is Tessellating Tuesday, so have made this bright and cheerful mosaic style sunflower card using watercolours and a die. How I made this card:- I decided to use the Lisa Horton's Broken Tiles Collection - Sunny Days die set to make this Sunflower topper. There are three parts to it, the main frame (which I cut out first in white card), then added the sunflower part to the inner part of the die and cut it out in black card. I then stuck that part on to the white panel using a PVA glue (you need a bottle that has a fine nozzle as some of the bits are very narrow).  Once the glue was dry, I then coloured the Sunflowers in using Oranges and Yellow watercolour paints (any will do but I used the Watercolour wheel that Toni  Darroch's Stamps by Me company sold.  When that was dry, I then glued the whole panel on to the front of a 5" white card. I used the Relax, Calm, U...
