 Hi Craft addicts!

 Today's handmade card is one I made using a background coloured using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons, a Paper Boutique Dragonfly die and some backing papers from Hunkydory..


How I made this card:-

  • I had painted a background using Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Pearl Colours paints along with some Creative Expressions Iridescent Shimmering Watercolour (Perfect Pearls) paints.
  • Once it was dry, I cut out the Dragonfly wings and body (from The Paper Boutique's Dragonflies and a Bee set) and then the body out from some black self adhesive paper and attached the latter to the former (if that makes sense).
  • I had also coloured a background out on some white Yupo paper using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and I cut out a circle from it using a Tattered Lace Die.
  • I then used the Wood Grain effect stamp from the For The Love of Stamps range by Hunkydory to stamp over it (using Gina K Black Amalgam ink) and stuck the dragongfly to it, leaving the wings unglued.
  • Using a strip of brown paper (from Hunkydory's 8" paper Colour Families pad) I stuck it to the centre of the card and trimmed it on either side to fit.
  • I then stuck the main topper in the middle of that using a PVA glue (i must admit I alternate between Cosmic Shimmer and Pinflair's Glue-it Glue).
  • I stamped the Sending Lots of Love sentiment on the top left and bottom right hand corners again using Gina K's Black Amalgam ink.
  • Finally, I used some alcohol markers to colour in 6 self adhesive gems (bright blue and yellow) and added three each to the top right hand and bottom left hand corners.

Congrats... square card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Congratulations stamp and some patterned paper. I must admit i can't remember who produced this patterned paper but think it is Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World.. I rounded the corners of a 5" white square card and thought I would use it as a tent fold (that is with the fold at the top). I then cut out a piece of this foliage patterned paper so that there was a narrow border left when I placed it on the front of the card. Instead of adding a layer of black card behind it, I edged it with a Black alcohol marker and stuck it on using a tape runner pen - so many companies now do them or you could used  a light layer of PVA glue. I then cut a narrow panel (about 2") of the same paper so that it fitted the card and then stuck it to a slightly wider panel of Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock and stuck that to the card slightly left of the card front. Happy Birthday Bee card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is a bright and cheerful one with a bee theme and I hope you will read more as to how it was made! I first of all decided which of the various beautiful designs I wanted to use from the latest Bumblebee Dance paper collection from Creative Crafting World's Paper Boutique range. After a while, I chose the Bee circle topper and the bee background paper to use as i think they are so colourful. Using the topper as a template, I chose a Tattered Lace Scalloped edge die and cut out a circle slightly larger than the topper and attached it using PVA glue. I then used the Rectangle part of the Standalone Dies from Time for Tea and cut it out twice, once in Lynda Chapman's Black card and another one using the Bee paper from the Paper Boutique collection. Merry Christmas to all circle Christmas Card - 365 day challenge

  Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this one made totally from scratch. I used the largest circle (about 4") Petit Picot edge die from Spellbinders and cut out two pieces of card - the front is Paper Dienamic Metallink A4 card and the back part is Sheena Douglass A4 white willow card. I scored the back part about 3/4" towards the top and married the two pieces together and added some red liner tape, removed the carrier sheet and stuck them to each other. The black frame is cut out of Lynda Chapman's Black card using the Inverted Scallop die from Crafter's Companion Gemini collection and I stuck it to the front of the card using a dotty pen as it allows the glue to only go on places it needs to. I had a scrap piece of red cardstock and I cut the oval bauble (from Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Festive Collection Sparkle Baubles set) and then used silver mirror card to cut out the top part.
