Smile - Abstract tulips DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one using a mix of Stamps by Me dies and stamps. I cut out the film strip die (from the Smile for the Camera Stamps by Me collection) in green linen effect card (both American Crafts and Crafter's Companion - amongst others do this type of card). I then attached it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card with PVA glue and trimmed it to fit. Using PVA glue, I stuck it to the middle of a white DL card. The tulips are created using the Abstract Tulips stencils and die set from Stamps by Me and I followed the instructions using the same purple colour (Tim Holtz's Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink) for the flowers and the Safari Green Nuvo Hybrid inks for the leaves and stems. I cut it out and attached it to the film strip with foam pads (strips) to give it some height. I stamped the Smile stamp from the Foliage banners set again from Stamps by Me using Gina K Obsidian Black ink, cut it out and stuck it t...

Beautiful... Floral spray on oval background 7" x 5" card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one I really enjoyed making using stamps, dies, alcohol markers and pencils ( and yes it is a white card).... I have also added a couple of pictures showing the difference between just alcohol markers and adding the pencils. I first of all cut out a piece of white stamping card using the largest of theSpellbinders Petit Picot edge oval die set. I then stamped out the Floral Spray stamp image on to it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and left it to dry a bit. I coloured it in first of all using pastel shades from the Sketching set of Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens and this is the result. As you can see, it is very pale and I could have left it like that but felt that I wanted to see how different it would be if I used Stabilo FSC pencils on top and so coloured half in and again this is how it turned out (and you can definitely see how vibrant they became).. So I then coloured the rest in (see the main...

Hummingbird in flight Thank you DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Well this card took me a bit longer than usual but am pleased with how it turned out! If you want to read more then there is some after the pic! I first of all used the largest of the DL square hole die (I think it is from Lisa Horton) and cut two of them out in white card. To make the card, I scored just under the top set of holes and added some red liner tape to the space and stuck the two pieces together. I then added some Wild Spider Self adhesive sheet to a piece of Lynda Chapman's Black card and using the smaller outline and frame dies from Lisa Horton's Slimline Cracked Frame die, took the backing sheet off and attached it to some card - I used blue card as I thought I would leave some of the spaces without the flowers but as I didn't you could use any card! I then repeated the same thing with a sheet of Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me It's all about you flower 8" x 8" paper pad - thinking about it after spending some time paper piecin...

Forever Friend cute dog A6 card 365 day challenge

Image
Well hello again It might sound like a broken record, but I really enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it too! I cut out the film strip using one of Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me dies in black card (Lynda Chapman's Creative Crafting World) having previously attached it to some Wild Spider Self Adhesive roll. I then attached it (removing the backing sheet) on to some white card. I felt that it would be ideal to use the fun Dog stamps from Lisa Horton so I stamped the two dogs out using Gina K's Obsidian Black Amalgam ink (it is great as you can use any media to colour the image in) and then stamped the Forever Friend in the centre space. I also used one of the pawprints to add a bit more fun to it. Spectrum Noir's Triblender markers make it really easy to colour and shade and so used 2 Brown ones to colour the dogs in. Using a Sigma Micro pen (black) I added a balloon shape to the sentiment and made it look like the dog in the bottom strip was holding on to it. Fin...

Just  Because....Floral B on vellum on hand inked background  A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I have made using stamps, matching dies, some vellum and a hand inked background that I created myself. How I made this card:- This is a lovely, bright and cheerful floral A6 white card that is very simple to make.... I used the Stamps By Me Just Because stamp and matching die set and cut out the middle sized B several times in white card and then stamped the floral B on to some white stamping card, placed the die over it, taped it down and cut it out. I coloured the flowers etc out Prism watercolour pencils and blended them in. Using PVA glue, I then attached all of the cut out bits together so that it had some height and then added the actual coloured one on top of them. I used my anti static bag and rubbed it over a strip of vellum (measures 2.5" deep and about 6" long as it needed to fold over the background to attach it). I eyeballed wher...

Sometimes...memory flower panel 7x5in black pearlescent card

Sometimes...memory flower panel 7x5in black pearlescent card Hi Craft addicts! I thought I would use one of Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me flower stamps to make this 7" x 5" card.. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the "A Miracle" Deco plate in white card (it cuts the whole panel out) and then stamped the co-ordinating detail design onto it using Gina K Amalgam ink.  I used the Eureka 101 to make sure that it was exactly in the right place. I then glued the detail panel on to the diecut using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I used Crafter's Companion Tri-blenders to colour the flowers/leaves in (Purple Blend - P2,3 and 4 and Light Green Blend - LG1,3 and 5). I stamped out the sentiment onto a scrap piece of white card using Gina K Amalgam Black ink and then cut it out in a cloud shape and edged it with a purple alcohol marker (Spectrum Noir chisel edge). I then attached the whole panel on to the front of a 7" x 5" black ...

Maple Leaf and roses square card - Day 17 of my 365 day challenge

Image
Maple leaf and flowers square card Day 17 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today I have made this square card using the Maple Leaf Stamps By Me Synergy die along with some of their flower stamps and both alcohol markers and watercolour pens. How I made this card:-     I took the Maple leaf Synergy die (outer edge) and placed it in the centre of a 7in white card and cut it out in my Cut n Boss – I hung the back half of the card over the edge of the plate so it wasn’t part of the cutting process. Using the Maple Leaf die cut that was left, I then used the main die and placed it over it (making sure there was an even border all round and again cut it out. I then repeated the process using one of DoCrafts Xcuts red self-adhesive papers.   Using various shades of alcohol markers I coloured the leaf in trying to make sure that the veins etc showed. Whilst that was drying, I added the outer border from the red maple leaf to the inside o...
