Thinking about you lots... poppies 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Poppy themed 7x5in card. I used a Hunkydory Prism punch to round the corners of a 7" x 5" landscape white card (from Paper Boutique) but decided to use it as a tent fold one instead. I then used one of the larger Rectangle Mini Lace dies from Tattered Lace and cut it out in Holographic Mirror card (from Kanban). I took a piece of Willow White card (from Sheena Douglass) and placed it in a stamping platform and then stamped the Poppy image (from Sheena's Tall & Elegant Refined stamp set) a couple of times to get a crisp image using Gina K Black Obsidian ink. I die cut the image using a slightly smaller die from the same Rectangle set and stuck it to the larger panel using a tape pen as I didn't want any glue seeping on to the Mirror card. I attached the completed panel on to the front of the card with some PVA glue, trying to leave a narrow border all the way around it. F...

Happy Halloween 5x7in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Hallowe'en card using dies and Distress Oxide inks. I was playing with the waste from a die cut I had cut out and coloured through it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink to create a moon and trimmed it so it would fit the front of a 7" x 5" white card. I then used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch to name but two) to create a background colouring over part of the circle to make it look like there were were clouds over it. I rounded the corners of it using a Hunkydory Prism punch and attached it to some Lynda Chapman's Black card, trimmed it with my We R Memory Keepers Guillotine so that there was a narrow border and rounded the corners as well. Once I was happy with the background, I cut out the Happy Hallowe'en sentiment and the Underwater Ruins dies (both from Tattered Lace) using the same card as the panel and used a tape pen to attach them. ...

Happy Birthday to you... Lighthouse stained glass effect 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade cards is a 7" x 5" card using dies and stamps and is suitable for a Birthday. I decided to use the Black 7" x 5" pearlescent card as a landscape card and thought that the Lighthouse Stained Glass effect die cut would be perfect for it. I therefore cut out the mat layer using a piece of cardstock that I had used Himi Silk Crayons to create the background. I then added some Wild Spider Self Adhesive paper to a piece of Lynda Chapman's Black card, cut out the Lighthouse Outline die from Crafter's Companion. I removed part of the backing sheet from the die cut, placed it over the mat layer so that it looked symmetrical and gradually removed the rest, burnishing it down with the release paper. I then stuck it to the card using PVA glue. I stamped out the Happy Birthday to you sentiment (again from Crafter's Companion I think) on to some white card, fussy cut around it and attached it to the bottom of the card with ...

Do small things with great love... vibrant flowers 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hiya Craft addicts! Today's card is one using just paper from Stamps by Me and a sentiment from Lisa Horton - so if you want to know how to make something like this then why not read more! I really love the colours in this paper pad from Toni Darroch's Its All about You - Vibrant Colours 8" pad. I wanted the poppies to stand out and so used one of the paler designs (with the script on it) and cut it to 4.75" x 5.5" (approximately) and attached it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card. I then cut a smaller piece of the Poppy design about 2.75" x 5"and stuck it to some more black card. I used PVA glue (or you can used fingerlift tape) to attach the larger panel to the front of a 7" x 5" white card and then added the smaller topper to it towards the bottom right hand corner, this time with thin foam tape to give it some height. I took the sentiment from Lisa Horton's Ticker tape collection, cut it out and stuck it to some black card, this...

The Hurrier I go.... White Rabbit (from Alice in Wonderland) 7x5in Kraft Card

The Hurrier I go.... White Rabbit (from Alice in Wonderland) 7x5in Kraft Card Hi Craft addicts! Well, this card was brilliant fun to make - the stamp was from Visible Images' Alice in Wonderland collection and here is how I made it (for Day 4 of the 100 day project). How I made this card:- I first of all stamped out all of the words and the White Rabbit on to some white stamping card (using Gina K Amalgam ink) I then coloured the Rabbit in using Spectrum Noir Tri-blends (my new favourite alcohol markers as they are so easy to use). You can of course use any colours you want as he is a magical creature! I then cut them all out leaving a narrow white border around them all. I stuck the words on to some yellow paper (the reverse of the striped paper used for the background) and cut round them in a zig-zag design. Before that, I had also cut a piece of yellow and white diagonal striped paper with a zig zag edge (from Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps paper range) ...

Bee Happy - Bees and honey jar on 7x5in white card - Day 177 of my 365 day challenge

Bee Happy - Bees and honey jar on 7x5in white card -  Day 177 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well as it is sunny outside, I thought I would produce this bright and colourful card using some dies, stamps and alcohol markers. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out ornate frame (I think it is a Tattered Lace die) in white card and then the mat layer in black. I then used one of the bees stamps from the Bee Happy set from For The Love of Stamps by Hunkydory in Versafine Onyx Black ink and coloured the body in using orange and yellow Zig Clean Color pens. I also stamped the Bee Happy sentiment (adding the two stamps on to the acrylic block at the same time) again with the Versafine black ink. I then stuck the whole panel on to the front of a 7" x 5" white card (with the fold at the top) using Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue. I used an Altenew green ink pad (I think it was either Parrot or Moss) to stamp the flower in each of the 4 corners. Using Vers...

Hugs ... for your friendship Flowers and bling 7x5" white card - Day 169 of my 365 day challenge

Hugs ... for your friendship Flowers and bling 7x5" white card -  Day 169 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my 365 day challenge has been made using Chameleon pencils and a Stamps By Me die along with a Hug.. for your friendship stamps. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the flower die (from Stamps By Me) in black card stock and as it stays within it, I then added some white linen effect card on the back and cut round both. I then coloured the image in using Chameleon pencils (they are great as they are double ended so you can shade things easily). As you can see I used Orange and Yellows for the flowers and greens for the leaves. I used a panel of brown card (either Lynda Chapman's World of Paper or American Crafts) which measures about 4" x 6" and added it to a landscape fold 7" x 5" white hammered effect card. I then added the flower to the centre of the card and added 3 jewel style gems (from H...
