Stained glass monochrome DAD 5" square card -  Day 136 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! For today's challenge, I have made this card which would be suitable for both a Father's Day or a dad's birthday. The card itself is a shaped 5" card which can be got from Hunkydory . It has a pre-cut, scalloped edge on the diagonal. I first of all used some Imagination Crafts silver coloured "Sparkle Medium" and one of the "That Special Touch" stencils to create the stained glass effect on black cardstock and let it dry.overnight. I then layered it on to white and black card until it measured about 2.5" . I edged the last layer with black alcohol marker. I had some of the grey and white checked paper left over (as a frame) from another project, so I just cut it to fit the outside edges of the front and repeated it on the inside so it matched. Parsley, Sage , Rosemary and Thyme - herb garden wall plaque -  Day 81 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! This is only a work in progress as i wanted to test out some peel off stencils and thought that I would make a wall plaque to try them out. So, first of all I used a rectangular MDF wall plaque (this one has precut holes at the top as I wanted to be able to hang it up).  I covered it in a few coats of the NUVO Mushroom Acrylic paint - I felt I needed a few of them as the MDF seemed to be "treated" and had a smooth surface to it already.  I must admit I used my heat gun in between coats to speed things up as I wanted to do both sides. Once it was dry, I then varnished it with the new Zig Varnish marker (which is like a pen and you just spread it like a glue pen) - again giving it a couple of coats. Red foiled butterfly - Best wishes 4" card  Day 71 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one that I have made using two new (ish) processes for me - one is stencilling and the other foiling! I wondered how stencilling (using Distress Inks) would work on Centura Peal cardstock, so I started stencilling (using the Mini Stained Glass stencil mask from The Crafter's Workshop) a 4" Fresh Cream card (from Craft Creations )  with orange, peach and yellow mini-pads from Tim Holtz Distress ink range. As you can see, I placed the stencil so that the central part of it matched the middle of the card itself and stuck it to a glass mat using low tack stencil tape. I then stencilled through it using the brushes that Clarity Stamps brought out allowing all the colours to merge into one another. Set of 5 mini cards or gift tags - abstract designs - Day 34 of 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Day 34 of my 366 day challenge and thought that these set of cards would make a good thing to write about... This was the first time that I had used textured paste and stencils and thought they came out really well. So, first of all I placed the stencil ( Mini Moroccan tiles from TCW Stencils ) and taped it down. I then used a spatula to fill in the stencil using the paste (there are so many types available from I magination Crafts to Phill Martin ). I then gently removed the tape and lifted the stencil off and left the design to dry. I repeated this using different patterns and colours 4 times and left them to dry as well. Once they were all dry, I cut them out and either glued them to some contrasting card or just edged them with some Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Vintage style crate - my first attempt.. Day 30 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! As the old saying goes, and now for something completely different! I really need some more storage space for my craft items so thought rather than just covering an old cardboard box, I would attempt to use one of the kits that Stamps Away (Ali Reeve) sells and see how easy it was to make! Well this one is very simple (but have to admit I didn't notice I had one of the side panels on incorrectly until I had glued it - I definitely won't make that mistake again! (but as it happens it didn't really make a difference as I am the only one who would notice it (maybe I shouldn't have admitted it). So, first of all, I made sure that all the panels were clean and following the instructions glued each of them in turn. I then used a large rubber band to hold them in place until completely stuck.
