Couple in rain Splash of Colour 5in Z fold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one that could easily be used for Valentine's Day or really just to cheer someone up! I first of all took a 5in white card and scored it down the middle of the front piece and folded it back on itself and scored it again to give it a good crease. I then cut out 3 panels of grey textured card (from Crafter's Companion 12" paper pad) allowing a very narrow border. I stuck them to the card using PVA glue (this time Dawn Bibby's glue). I then cut out the Couple under an umbrella in black card (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World) having first attached it to some Wild Spider Self Adhesive sheet. I removed the backing sheet and placed the die-cut on the front panel, trimming the umbrella as it was slightly too big. I then used an anti-static bag and dusted the inside panel, then stamped the sentiment (from Honey Doo Mandala collection), added some True white embossing powder and heat set it. Finally, I cut out the small hear...

Someone special.. Valentine's Day card

Someone special.. Valentine's Day card Hi Craft addicts! Well the sun is shining which makes a change and so have made this slightly different Valentine's Day card using some older and new dies.... How I made this card:- I had cut out the Someone Special Heart (it is an old Tonic Studios die) ages ago and thought I really need to use it up (like the last card I made). I had cut it out in red card but needed it to have mat layer so I glued it to some pale pink card (which matches one of the abstract Hearts) and cut around it. I have recently got the Plaids, Spots and Stripes card from Paper Dienamics and I used one of the blue patterned pieces and used Broken China Distress inks from Tim Holtz to ink the edge. I then attached it to some darker blue plain card and cut around it leaving a very narrow border. I then attached it to the front of a 7x5in side fold card (from Creative Crafting World) using Pinflair's Glue it glue. Using some other precut bac...

Love and Kisses Butterfly on heart card

Image
Love and Kisses Butterfly on heart card Hi Craft addicts! The weekend has come around so quickly hasn't it? I made this card a few weeks ago and was really pleased with how it turned out so decided to share it on here! How I made this card:- I used a scalloped edged heart nested die (there are quite a few Companies that now produce them) and cut it out in Black card. I then cut out the Butterfly die (I think it is a Tattered Lace one) in White card and stuck it to the front of the heart with some Pinflair Glue it Bookbinding glue. I also used the square panel die from Tattered Lace's Antique Lace 3D Decoupage collection to cut it out in White card. Once I had taken out all the waste bits, I then edged it with some Blue ink (any will do but I think it is from Altenew this time). I also edged all sides of a 6" square card so that it matched. I stuck the Heart and Butterfly panel on to the white card using the Pinflair glue again and then attached th...

Peace, Joy Love Heart Kraft card - Day 324 of my 365 day challenge

Peace, Joy Love Heart Kraft card -  Day 324 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well today is a really miserable one outside, so thought I would make this quick and simple card for day 324 of my 365 day challenge. How I made this card:- I have had these heart die-cuts (from an old set from Tonic Studios) for ages and thought it about time to use them! The largest of the two was cut out of cream/ivory linen effect card and the smaller one in a Kraft card - I like this particular card as it has a textured effect. Before attaching the two hearts on to the front of a 6" square Kraft card, I stamped the reindeer (from the Furry & Bright For The Love of Stamps set by Hunkydory) several times using Versafine Toffee ink. I then stamped the Hedgehog from the same set on to the smaller Heart (again using the Toffee ink). Using PVA glue, I attached both hearts on to the front of the card and let it dry. I also have had the Peace, Joy, Love die that Tonic Studios...

Sent with Love - monochrome heart design card - Day 302 of my 365 day challenge

Sent with Love - monochrome heart design card -  Day 302 of my 365 day challenge  Hi Craft addicts! I have been trying to use up some die-cuts that I had previously cut out and this one is a card using Tonic Studios dies. How I made this card:- I used one of the heart dies that Tonic Studios brought out ages ago, the main ornate frame in cream linen effect card and the ornate heart in black card. Tonic Studios also produced a duo set of a stamp and die and I first of all stamped the heart on white linen card and then die cut it. I then coloured it in using red and green alcohol markers. I glued the main frame on to some black card and trimmed around it leaving a narrow border. I attached the smaller hand coloured heart on to the black heart and glued both of them on to the main panel. I then stuck the whole thing on to a 6" white card using a wet glue. The sentiment was one from the Hunkydory Moonstone set Terrific Tags and Sentiments set on to a piece of ...

Love and hearts grungy style Valentine's Day Card - Day 32 of my 365 day challenge

Love and hearts grungy style Valentine's Day Card -  Day 32 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a slightly different one in that it is slightly "grungy" but I really like the effect that I have created. How I made this card:- Once again I wanted to use up some purpose made cards and I had this tri-fold aperture card and thought it would go well with the Love and Hearts topper - I thought it was one I had designed in Brother Scan n cut's Canvas but am now not sure... I cut it out in purple card and used a Tattered Lace torn edge die as a border. I then added it on to some white card and placed it inside the aperture and glued it to the inside flap. Once stuck down, I glued the whole panel to the front of the card (making it sure that it was the right way up). I wanted to decorate the front of the card and so used some Altenew inks straight from the pad alternating the colours - the card is textured which gives it an interest...

Love you to the moon and back Flamingos in love card - Day 22 of my 365 day challenge

Image
Love you to the moon and back Flamingos in love card   Day 22 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my challenge is this fun Flamingos in love 7" x 5" card which I have made using Hunkydory's Flamingo Party stamp collection, some distress inks. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the square in white stamping cardstock using a Tattered Lace die (but any one would do). I then took the two flamingos from the Flamingo Party range from For The Love of Stamps stamp collection (Hunkydory) and stamped them both using Versafine Onyx Black ink and then embossed them using a clear embossing powder. I then used 2 Zig Clean Color pens to colour them in (pink shades). I coloured the background in with both Altenew and Distress inks - using a post-it note to define where the water ended and the sky started. I also then used some grey alcohol markers to add the shadow and some shading to the water. I then attached the panel to some ...

Love Salsa dancing Couple C5 card -  Day 19 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card (day 19 of my 365 day challenge) is another card that could be made and sent for Valentine's Day or just to say I am thinking of you. How I made this card:- I cut out the red scalloped heart out on my Brother Scan n Cut in good quality card and then cut a straight edged heart in white. I used the Tattoo collection from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps range (from Hunkydory) and used the larger of the hearts and stamped it randomly around the heart using Versafine ink (Black Onyx) and then added the flower in blue, red and green inks (from Altenew and Tim Holtz). I then coloured the hearts in using a red Zig Clear Color pen and let it  all dry. I decided that it needed something else so decided to cut out the Salsa dancing couple in black card (it is a Tattered Lace die) as it would stand out more. I also cut out the LOVE Tonic Studios die in both red and ...
