Love... outline butterfly on Kraft card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is slightly different as I made the card myself using some dies along with the outline butterfly die which I love! I first of all used a large rectangular die that had a fancy edge (any would do) but I think this is either Lisa Horton or Time for Tea) and placed it on an A2 Kraft card (from Tonic Studios), attached it with some low tack tape and cut it out (I had left it hanging over the fold so that it didn't cut that bit out). I then cut a separate piece out using the same die and then scored it on either side several times using my Hunkydory Scoreboard and stuck it to the front of the card so it matched. I cut out the Outline Butterfly die in Lynda Chapman's Black card (with some Wild Spider self adhesive sheet on the reverse). I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide, Gemini Harmony and Prism inks to colour in some card and stuck the butterfly on top of it having peeled off the backing sheet. I then cut around it and placed it in the middle of the ...

I woof you... cute dog aperture card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Well, this card would, I think, be great for Valentine's Day and isn't too hard to make! I first of all took a 5" white square card and using my Tonic trimmer, cut out the square aperture. (There are of  course pre cut cards available for sale). I used Tim Holtz and Simon Hurley inks to colour the front of the card creating a sky and grass feeling. I then stamped out the cut dog image (back and front) from Crafter's Companion spinner collection and coloured them in using a Brown Triblender from Spectrum Noir. I added a bit of pink for its' tongue. Using a piece of the wood panel effect paper from Stamps by Me Vibrant Tones 8" paper pad. I distressed it a bit with some brown Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink and stuck it to the inside of the card. I stamped the sentiment "I Woof You" on to the front of the card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and also the bones and ball.  I used a damp brush to bleach these to give it a bit of texture...

With Love birds under mistletoe A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is another one suitable for any occasion that we want to send that person some love but could be great for Valentine's Day too. I really love these edger dies from Creative Expressions, and even though this was brought out for Christmas, I do think it is great too for Valentines Day. I therefore cut it out in bright white card, trimming it to fit the front of an A6 cream/ivory card. I attached it with some PVA glue to some Red textured card (from Crafter's Companion) and trimmed that so it fitted the card. Once I was happy with that, I glued it to the card again using PVA glue. I also stamped out the With Love sentiment on to the same white card using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink (the stamp is from Lisa Horton). I trimmed around it giving it a wavy edge and then glued that to a strip of the same red card, also giving that the same wavy edge. I then added it to the bottom of the card with some foam pads. Finally, I used some Nuvo drops in ...

Be Mine heart card

Image
Be Mine heart card  Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a good weekend!  Today's card is one that could be used for Valentine's Day and is really easy to make... How I made this card:- I had cut out the Be Mine Heart (it is an old Tonic Studios die) ages ago and thought I really need to use it up... I love Tartan patterns and the pad that Craftstyle produced some time ago has a wide variety of colours and I used one of the Green shades to use as the background which is slightly smaller than the A6 white card I am using. I stuck the tartan panel on to the front of the card using Pinflair's Glue it Bookbinding glue, leaving a narrow border around it. I then cut out a frame (using 2 different rectangle nesting dies) in Black card and a smaller panel out in Silver/Holographic Mirri card (from Hunkydory) and stuck the frame to the top of the Silver card using the Pinflair glue. I attached that to the front of the card and then glued the heart in the c...

Love Salsa dancing Couple C5 card - Day 19 of my 365 day challenge

Love Salsa dancing Couple C5 card -  Day 19 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card (day 19 of my 365 day challenge) is another card that could be made and sent for Valentine's Day or just to say I am thinking of you. How I made this card:- I cut out the red scalloped heart out on my Brother Scan n Cut in good quality card and then cut a straight edged heart in white. I used the Tattoo collection from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps range (from Hunkydory) and used the larger of the hearts and stamped it randomly around the heart using Versafine ink (Black Onyx) and then added the flower in blue, red and green inks (from Altenew and Tim Holtz). I then coloured the hearts in using a red Zig Clear Color pen and let it  all dry. I decided that it needed something else so decided to cut out the Salsa dancing couple in black card (it is a Tattered Lace die) as it would stand out more. I also cut out the LOVE Tonic Studios die in both red and ...

Love and hearts square card -- black, white and red theme - Day 18 of my 365 day challenge

Image
Love and hearts square card -- black, white and red theme -  Day 18 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I am really pleased with this card as the main panel (the black flowery one) came about as a die cut that didn't quite cut out right! How I made this card:- I had cut out this main black panel using the Thank You panel from the latest Paper Boutique's range from Creative Crafting World but I hadn't cut it out properly and some of the flowers were still in the card. I didn't want to waste it, so I trimmed it so that the top part had one extra flower on either side and then cut the bottom so that it was just the same size as the inside panel. I then glued it to some white hammered card using the Glue-it Glue from Pinflair and let it dry. Whilst it was drying, I went into CANVAS (Brother Scan and Cut online web app) and cut out the red heart which is part of the stamping designs. The gingham circle is a pre-cut one from Kanban Crafts and so I g...

Unicorn with flowers LOVE wall hanging plaque - Day 8 of my 365 day challenge

Image
Unicorn with flowers LOVE wall hanging plaque -  Day 8 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge is a wall hanging that could be used in any room and would make a lovely gift for someone.  How I made this project:- I had this wall hanging chipboard plaque 20x13cm (I think from the Hobby House) and first of all painted it in white gesso and gave it a couple of coats on both sides. I used a heat gun to dry one side and then painted the other. I then used one of the leaves stamps from the Screen Sensations collection and stamped them on either side of the plaque using Altenew inks ad they are a really lovely colour. Once they were dry, I then added the flowers on top of them again using an Altenew stamp as it is such a rich colour. Whilst they were drying,I cut out the latest Unicorn die from Tattered Lace in the turquoise (teal) DoCrafts self adhesive paper and attached it to the middle of the plaque in between the holes - making ...

With Love Steampunk heart meets traditional hearts square card

Image
With Love Steampunk heart meets traditional hearts square card Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card is a mix of "Steampunk" and traditional and can be used for either Valentines Day or really any time you want to say you love someone.... How I made this card:- I first of all took a plain 7" white card (from Hunkydory) and cut about 4cm off the right hand side. I then coloured the front of the card using the "Love is in the Air" mask (from the Love of Stamps range by Hunkydory) with a "Red" Generation INX ink pad (I used the XOXO, hearts and balloon heart). Using the Tattered Lace "Love is in the Air Lattice" panel, I cut out the strip for the inside of the card in black card - I had made sure that it fitted before cutting the front part. I also used some Tonic Studios "Hearts" in a couple of sizes/styles to cut out the larger of the hearts in pale Kraft (and embossed it using an A6 embossing folder from DoCrafts Xcut ...
