Boo! Witch on broomstick Hallowe'en card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this slightly different Hallowe'en 4" card using dies and stencils... I first of all took a 4" white card (from Paper Boutique or Hunkydory) and rounded the corners with a Hunkydory Prism Punch. I then took a piece of Willow White cardstock (from Sheena Douglass) and placed a Woodware abstract design stencil over it and coloured through it with a variety of inks - reds, yellows, blues to create this vibrant background. I cut it down to fit the front of the card leaving a very narrow border around it and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. I stuck it to the card with some PVA glue. Using the Witch, Broom and Bat dies from Tim Holtz's Toil and Trouble set from Sizzix, I cut them out in Lynda Chapman's Black card along with the spider's web from a Tattered Lace die. I used a Crafter's Companion Dotty tape pen to stick them to the background, positioning them first befo...

It's Your Birthday.. Let's Party! Dachshund A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is one using only stamps from Sheena Douglass and inks from Izink. I decided I wanted to stamp directly on to the front of a card, so used an acrylic stamping block to stamp the Dachshund (from Sheena Douglass's Guess Who set from her Halfway There collection). I used Gina K's Obsidian Black ink for this as I can use both Watercolour or Alcohol inks. I then coloured it in using Stabilo FSC pencils (Brown, Yellow and Orange shades) and then coloured his ruff in with reds and pinks. I again used Gina K's ink to stamp the sentiment from the same collection directly underneath the image. As I felt the card looked a bit "grey", I decided to add some rainbow colours to it and so used Izinks (from Aladine) Dye inks - red, yellow and blue. So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:- Follow us on Twitter       Like us on Facebook           Like us on Pinterest     ...

Happy Birthday - flowers and dragonflies in silhouette - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a bright and cheerful card using just stamps and paints. I took a piece of white card and using Cosmic Shimmer Neon polishes (yellow, red and orange) and took some of each of them and placed them on to a craft mat and mixed them slightly with some water to create a paint effect and coloured the card for a sunrise effect. Once I was happy with the colours, I left it to dry as I would be using stamps on it. Whilst that was happening, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment (from Lisa Horton) out, cut around it and then placed it on to some Brown linen effect card, again cutting around it and put it aside. When the background was dry I used Rare Earth Silhouette flower and dragonfly stamps to create the scene. I must admit I didn't have a plan to start with and just went with the "flow". Once I had finished the scene, I cut around it, edged it with a Black alcohol marker and placed it on a ...

Love... Gnome with heart balloon 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Well, I must admit I am addicted to these wonderful Gnomes from Woodware Stamps and designed by Francoise Read. I first of all stamped out the Gnome stamp from Francoise Read's Gnome collection from Woodware Stamps on to white card and coloured it in using a variety of Spectrum Noir's Triblender markers. Once I was happy with it, I cut around it leaving a border around it. I thought that a red background would work well, so used a Tattered Lace Scalloped Edge Die to cut out a panel that I glued the Gnome on to using PVA glue. I glued it to the front a 7x5in white card again using PVA glue - both Pinflair's Bookbinding and Dawn Bibby's glue work really well. I have used the LOVE Alphabet dies before, but this time I cut the letters out in  Silver Mirri card and glued them on to some of the red card and cut around it. I then attached it to the bottom of the card using foam pads.  So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:- Follow us on Twitt...

With Love birds under mistletoe A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is another one suitable for any occasion that we want to send that person some love but could be great for Valentine's Day too. I really love these edger dies from Creative Expressions, and even though this was brought out for Christmas, I do think it is great too for Valentines Day. I therefore cut it out in bright white card, trimming it to fit the front of an A6 cream/ivory card. I attached it with some PVA glue to some Red textured card (from Crafter's Companion) and trimmed that so it fitted the card. Once I was happy with that, I glued it to the card again using PVA glue. I also stamped out the With Love sentiment on to the same white card using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink (the stamp is from Lisa Horton). I trimmed around it giving it a wavy edge and then glued that to a strip of the same red card, also giving that the same wavy edge. I then added it to the bottom of the card with some foam pads. Finally, I used some Nuvo drops in ...

Dream Big... Panda on tartan background 6in square card

Dream Big... Panda on tartan background 6in square card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I had great fun making but I think it could easily be made into a piece of home decor as the stamp is so large! How I made this card This stamp is approximately 4in in height so you really do need a stamping platform to get a crisp image as you can place the card and stamp where you want and then repeat stamping until it is right. I used a Rare Earth one but the Eureka 101 is great too. I used white stamping card and Gina K Obsidian Black ink to do this. Once I was happy with the result I coloured the flowers in using a variety of alcohol markers (I used a mix of Spectrum Noir and Ink Lily). I then cut it leaving some white space around it . I used a large square die (about 4.5in) to cut out the background mat layer in the green tartan from Craftstyle and then used a  corner punch (from Hunkydory) to round the edges. Using Pinflair Glue-it Glue, I attached the mat to the...

Have a Tweet Christmas....

Have a Tweet Christmas Robins and snowflakes on tartan card Hi Craft addicts! I hope you had a great weekend! Here is a fun card I made using stamps... How I made this project:- This is a C6 white linen effect card which I bought ages ago from Craft Creations but you can of course use any type of base card! I cut a panel of this red tartan paper (from Hunkydory's 8" paper pad collection) to fit the front of the card leaving a border all around it and attached it using PVA glue. I then used a stamping platform (again there are so many brands around - from Stamps by Me Eureka 101 to Rare Earth's Load n Fold.  I arranged the two Robins stamps opposite each other (from a Woodward collection), the two Holly leaves and then the Have a tweet Christmas sentiment and stamped them all on to some white stamping card (This is Hunkydory's Ink Me) using Gina K's Black Amalgam ink. I coloured the Robins in using two shades of Brown alcohol markers (from H...

Just Because... dogs in silhouette on hand painted background  A6 card...  Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead! I had fun painting the background and then deciding what to use it for - these dog silhouettes were just the right thing! How I made this card:- The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course. I first of all die-cut the dogs (from the Fun, Frolics and Flight Tattered Lace Collection) out in black card. I chose these two as they look as if they are coming from different directions. The card is Lynda Chapman's black card from Creative Crafting World. I then took a small piece of white card (I used stamping card but watercolour card would do just as well) and created the sea scene using Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors and Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering watercolour paints. I love these paints as the paper shimm...

Happy Birthday abstract flowers large DL easel card. Hi Craft addicts! Haven't posted in a couple of days - have you missed me :) - anyway as it is #TessellatingTuesday - here is a card I have made using a Stamps by Me die and some stamps... How I made this card:- This is a lovely, bright and cheerful floral DL card (with an extension) which is a side fold card from Paper Boutique. I used the Stamps By Me Synergy - Lattice 5 Die and cut it out using a sheet of Black self adhesive paper. I didn't want the solid part of the die-cut so I snipped it off  I then removed part of the backing sheet, and gradually adhered it to some white stamping card, burnishing it down as I went. I coloured the flowers in with Pink, Dark Pink, Yellow and Orange Prism (from Hunkydory) alcohol markers. Using PVA glue, I then attached it to the front of the side-fold DL card, making sure that I only added glue to the bottom half of the hexagon shape as I wanted it to be free standin...
