Just Because...swan on black background monochrome DL card

Just Because...swan on black background  monochrome DL card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a really quick and easy card that you can make in a few minutes -  great for those last minute cards you need... How I made this card:- I took the Stamps By Me Lattice Synergy No. 5 die and cut it out in black linen effect card (from Create & Craft). It is a large die so you will need a large die-cutting machine. I then folded it in half, making sure all sides match - the topper part is only attached in a couple of places so it become a sort of easel card (without the easel bit). You could put acetate/card at the back of the cut out bit and colour the flowers in but I have just left it as is. I cut out the Swan and cygnets in white card from a Tattered Lace die and attached it to the topper with foam pads so it had some dimension in parts. I then stamped out the Just Because sentiment on to white card using a Birch Press Design stamp. I was trying out the Obsidi...

Well done... butterflies on striped background black 6" card

Well done... butterflies on striped background black 6" card Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend - it is a bit too stuffy and hot for me but shouldn't complain! - Here my latest handmade card for #MonochromeMonday and I have made it using Paper Boutique dies and Hunkydory backing papers... How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the largest mat layer out of the teal and white striped paper (from Hunkydory) and then the butterfly frame from the reverse side of the same paper using The Paper Boutique Forever Friends Doily Die. I then stuck them together using PVA glue. I also cut out the smaller circle within the set, this time in white card. I already had a circle frame previously cut out in black card and I used that to separate the background layers from the white circle. I had also created the Well Done sentiment topper using teal self adhesive paper on black card and so I decided to add that to the centre of the card using some foam pa...

Hello - Champagne bottles and glasses silhouette on black and white background A6 card

Hello - Champagne bottles and glasses silhouette on black and white background A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Well it is Monochrome Monday so have made this black and white card using Tattered Lace dies and a stamp from Creative Expressions... How I made this card:- I cut out the Champagne Glasses and bottle die in white card (it is from Tattered Lace) - I didn't colour it in as I wanted to use it as a silhouette version. I cut a panel of black and white spotty paper (this is from a 12" Trimcraft paper pad) to fit an A6 white linen effect card - it is 5" x 3.5" approximately and stuck it on using a tape pen - I didn't use a wet glue as I find it sometimes shows through. I then attached the die-cut in the middle of it using a  PVA glue. The Hello sentiment is a stamp from the Modern Classic Sentiments set from Creative Expressions and I used Black Gina K Amalgam ink to stamp it in the middle of the label. As I wanted to add a bit of colour to the ca...

Trio of stars - Happy Father's Day Teal and white A6 card

Trio of stars - Happy Father's Day Teal and white A6 card Hi Craft addicts! I wanted to do a plain and simple card for today's Monochromatic Monday and thought this Father's Day fitted the bill perfectly! Simple to make but I hope it appears stylish! How I made this card:- I cut out the three mat star layers using a dark teal card/paper (I think from Tattered Lace) - I used my Gemini machine for the larger one and my Baby Blue for the two smaller ones. I then repeated this for the main star shapes, this time in white card -  I really like the effect the dies create in the paper - if I had thought about it earlier, I could have tried to make the larger one slightly 3D by pinching the lines together. I attached the white stars to the teal mat layers using a PVA glue and then stuck them in a wavy line down the front  of an A6 white card (I am amazed at how different Companies A6 vary so much!) I took the HAPPY and Father's Day stamps from Lawn Fawn's Ha...

Have a Great Day animal silhouette forest scene - blue and white 7x5in card

Have a Great Day animal silhouette forest scene -  blue and white 7x5in card Hi Craft addicts! Here  is another card using the Hunkydory Stylish Silhouettes images - this time for Monochrome Monday, I have made it in Blue and White.... How I made this card:- Once again, you need to release the pieces carefully as they are quite delicate and the "pips" come apart fairly easily... anyway, I decided to use the Forest scene animals, birds, trees etc this time and placed them on to an oval layer which I had cut out in a deep blue card using a Tattered Lace die. When I was happy with where I wanted them, I used a PVA glue (the Cosmic Shimmer mini bottle as it has a very fine nib) to add glue to all the pieces and stuck them on to it - you can use either side of them as one is a brighter white and the other a laser cut effect. I then stuck that on to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using PVA glue. I stamped out the Have a Great Day sentiment from a For T...

Inspiring.... unicorn black and white monochromatic A6 card

Inspiring.... unicorn black and white monochromatic  A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is the first in a new series I am producing - each day will have a particular theme and today's is Monochromatic  Monday! I had cut this Unicorn topper out ages ago and thought I ought to use it and thought it would be great as part of the monochromatic theme. How I made the card itself:- I first of all cut out a black rectangle background using a Tattered Lace Deckle edge die. I then stuck the Unicorn die-cut on to the middle of it using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (you could also use Pinflair's Glue It as it has a very fine nozzle). Before I added the topper, I used the Inspiring Sentiment from Thirsty Brush and stamped (using Black Gina K Amalgam Ink) the Inspiring word at the bottom of the card (I had checked beforehand that both topper and sentiment would fit). Using thin foam pads (or even Shaker Foam on a roll), I then attached the to the top third of an A6 whi...
