Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card is quite simple to make but is one that could be used for any occasion. I first of all created the background using a variety of Rainbow Coloured Tim Holtz Distress Crayons - you just add the crayon to some Yupo paper, using my finger to blend them in first of all and then a paintbrush to blend them further. I also find that they can rub off a bit so I used a piece of kitchen roll to get any excess off. The Bee topper is made from using both the outer and inner die from Lisa Horton's Slimline Bee-autiful Panel set which I cut out from Lynda Chapman's Black Card which I had first of all added to some of Wild Spider Self adhesive sheet to make it easier to stick on to the Yupo Paper. Once cut out, I removed the backing sheet and attached it to the background and trimmed it to leave a narrow border around it which I then rounded the corners with my Hunkydory Prism punch (definitely my most favourite effect at the moment!). Background papers and how to transform them into printable formats..... Hi Craft addicts! Well, it is Technique Tuesday and so I thought, for a change from cards etc, I would try and show how I created a design on Yupo paper using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and Creative Expressions Pixie Powders and then transformed them into my own printable papers... How I made them- For the Blue flower design, I first of all added some dark blue (Blueprint Sketch Tim Holtz Distress Crayons) to a 7" x 5" panel of Transparent Yupo paper and blended them one at a time to a flower shape. I then added some paler blue crayons (such as Tumbled Glass) to the spaces and again blended them in - I use my fingers first of all and then a paintbrush with a hint of water to do this... I also added a small amount of green (Mowed Lawn) to various parts of the design. Once I was happy with the design, I then let it dry and took a picture of it using my phone and sent it to my Dropbox account....

Congratulations... flowers on flowers using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.. A6 card Hi Craft addicts! I really love the effects the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons create and so thought I would make a card using just the yellow and orange pens in the collection. How I made this card:- I first of all used the Mustard Seed Crayon to add some "splodges" to a panel of Yupo (white) and then used my finger to blend them in (one at a time as the crayons dry quickly). I then added some Spiced Marmalade crayon on top of them and again blended them in. I also added some Twisted Citron in between the flowers and again blended them - I also used a paintbrush with some water to "smooth" the flowers and background out. I  cut the panel to about 4" x 3" as I wanted to put it on the front of an A6 white card. I placed a flower stencil (am not sure who made it) over it and, using a sponge dauber added some Black ink - I didn't know what effect it would create ...

Hip Hip Horray Dragonfly Happy Birthday card using alcohol inks Hi Craft addicts! Well, I have been playing with alcohol inks again to create a background and decided to use it to make this Dragonfly themed Birthday card.... How I made this card:- I used Yupo paper (the translucent version) from Ranger and added a variety of alcohol inks, again from Ranger, to it (just dropping it on and seeing the results). When it was totally dry, I used the Dragonfly Square die from Sweet Dixie and cut it out. I I then stuck it on to a piece of white card using Pinflair Glue-it glue and cut around it leaving a very narrow border. I also used a black alcohol marker to edge it. I decided to use the Creative Expressions Modern Classic sentiments set (designed by Lisa Horton) and stamped the Hip Hip Hooray in each corner (it was only afterwards that I realised I had slipped doing one). Birthday Wishes... abstract stars  A6 cream deckle edge card Hi Craft addicts! I have been playing with Alcohol inks on Yupo paper (it has a great effect) and wondered what I could do with the background I had made and came up with this card... How I made this card:- I first of all took a pre cut panel of 5" x 7" Ranger Translucent Yupo paper (it is synthetic and recyclable which makes it more environmentally friendly) and added a variety of alcohol inks (again Ranger) on to it to create a varied background - see below for one like it.... I then left it to dry (though it does do that almost immediately) and then used the Synergy Die (Paper Piece 5) from Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me Range to cut it out - I did add a sheet of paper over it as I didn't want any of the colour to come off it so made 2 for the price of one! Happy Birthday Butterflies Z-fold card -  Day 244 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for day 244 of my 365 day challenge is a birthday card using a 5" card, a butterfly die and some Yupo paper for the background. How I made this card:- I cut out the trio of butterflies (from Hero Arts) in black card and trimmed it so that there was narrow border around it (it cuts within your card). I had got some Yupo paper to see what it was like and so cut a piece out and used various colours of Spectra Bleeding Art tissue to create the sky scene - mainly red, yellow and blue shades. I love this way of creating backgrounds as it is never going to be the same twice. I then took a 5" white square card and folded back the front back on itself so it was like a flap. I attached the butterfly panel to the background using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue and cut the latter so fit it and stuck it to the front panel leaving about 1/4 hanging over the edge.  ...
