Happy birthday Mum - presents - Day 17 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! So this time I have turned to a quick and easy birthday card for your mum using a very pretty topper from the "Especially for Her" paper collection from Hunkydory. I have used a C6 white card (which is approx 350gsm)- I prefer this weight of card as I feel that anything less than this feels a bit flimsy. Anyway, I added a strip of red ultra tape along the left hand side of the card and added some Tonic Studios Nuvo pink glitter to it (make sure that the whole area is covered so there is no sticky spots left. I then glued the topper on top of it (I didn't feel it needed a matt as the border "raised" it off the page. I then coloured the "Mum" sentiment with some pink Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and placed it on the card using some foam pads. You are Lovely (bird design) square card Hi Craft Addicts! Well. day 3 of the 366 day challenge and this time I have done a 6" square card using the lovely " Beau Papier" paper collection from Craftwork Cards. So, to start with I cut a square of patterned paper (13cm) and stuck it to some white cardstock using a tape pen and then coloured the edges to match the bird topper.  I then used a panel ( floral embossed ) from the "All White" c ard collection and using the Tea Dye Tim Holz mini ink pad blended it to co-ordinate with the backing paper.   Having made sure that it was dry, I then found some orange and white spotty "washi tape" and placed it in the centre of the panel and then stuck it all on to the backing cardstock.   Once I was happy with it, I then glued the bird panel on to it making sure that it was centred ok and then using Stix2 foam pads , I placed the whole thing on a 150cm (6") scalloped edge...

Happy birthday card - Japanese lady 6" square card Hi Craft Addicts! Well this is day one of my challenge and so I thought I would write about this birthday card I made - just with two different sentiments. The card is 6" square and is from Craftwork Cards - this has a floral embossed pattern on the right hand side but it can be any design or pattern you like. I then placed 2 lines of red Ultra strong tape (the narrow one) - and using Gold TODO foil added two rows to separate the embossed part from the main design. I had seen that there was a beautiful image of a Japanese "Geisha" lady in Hunkydory's Little Book of the Orient which I thought would go really well with what I had in mind so I cut round the gold frame to make it fit and then glued it down using Collall All Purpose glue so I can get the position just right. Fairy door wall hanging with chalk board notice section Hi Craft Addicts! This is a "story" of two halves - first of all the fairy door and then how I used it to make a chalkboard notice board wall hanging. So I will do this in two sections (the fairy door today and will post the noticeboard tomorrow).. I used the Dreamees Fairy Door making kit which you can buy from their website here .(this makes 2 so is excellent value for money) - you get all the necessary bits including signposts, trees, toadstools etc. Using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (I find they cover the MDF really well) in three different shades of brown, I "painted" the larger of the doors in the darker brown on both sides a couple of times and then the smaller of the doors and the "struts) in the lighter shades of brown.  I also added some silver dots to the struts to make them look like nails and used some purple Nuvo Crystal drops as a door handle but of co...

Chocolate - the 12 step guide wall hanging... Hi Craft Addicts! You may have seen my last blog about making a stylish wall hanging using a topper from Hunkydory   and a plaque style MDF shape from Dreamees and so here is another one I have made - this time featuring that other favourite, chocolate ... The process is exactly the same as before but this time using it landscape instead of portrait. I painted the panel (which is  22cm x 10cm ) using the  Pebeo Black Gesso  acrylic paint (I had to do it a couple of times using some  Cut n Dry foam  - this, I have discovered is  SO  much better than using a brush as it does give a smoother coat. Whilst it dried on both sides, cut a  gold foiled border  (with diamond panels) into the right length for both sides - this is from another of Hunkydory's card packs.  I then glued them to the panel just to the right (or left) of the holes either side. Flights of Fantasy Fairy MDF tag Hi Craft Addicts! As mentioned in my last post, I have been experimenting with various ways of using MDF and started out with a couple of smaller ones which I showed last time and slightly better ones (see below for ones made using Graphic 45 papers and my own abstract flowers ) From the smaller ones, I moved on to the Fairy one below which turned out well I think! I first of all used the Pebeo Studio Acrylic black gesso and painted the MDF (it measures approx 19x13cm ) a couple of times - I used a brush but the next time I think I will used a Braye r to give it a uniform cover.  Whilst this dried (and it is really quick), I cut out the beautiful image of the red haired fairy from the " Flights of Fantasy " paper crafting kit which Crafter's Companion brought out recently.
