Relax, Calm, Unwind Sunflower mosaic style  square card  Hi Craft addicts! Today is Tessellating Tuesday, so have made this bright and cheerful mosaic style sunflower card using watercolours and a die. How I made this card:- I decided to use the Lisa Horton's Broken Tiles Collection - Sunny Days die set to make this Sunflower topper. There are three parts to it, the main frame (which I cut out first in white card), then added the sunflower part to the inner part of the die and cut it out in black card. I then stuck that part on to the white panel using a PVA glue (you need a bottle that has a fine nozzle as some of the bits are very narrow).  Once the glue was dry, I then coloured the Sunflowers in using Oranges and Yellow watercolour paints (any will do but I used the Watercolour wheel that Toni  Darroch's Stamps by Me company sold.  When that was dry, I then glued the whole panel on to the front of a 5" white card. I used the Relax, Calm, U...

Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card -  Day 265 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! The rain has finally stopped and so I have made this simple but effective card using stamps and dies... How I made this card:- I used one of Tattered Lace Floral Wreath dies to cut out the main topper in white card. I then coloured it with various shades of green alcohol markers and when I was happy with it, I stuck it to some Gold Mirri Card (approximately 3" square) and then using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (or Gina K's Connect glue) I attached it to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card which is part of the Core Collection from Create & Craft so it formed a diamond shape. Using Orange, Red and Yellow Bleeding Art Tissue, I coloured some card and when it was dry I used a Tattered Lace Nested Beads Essential Circle Dies to die cut a circle. I used the Relax, Calm and Unwind sentiment from Thirsty Brush & Co to stamp it on to the circle using Versa...

Relax, Calm Unwind Seaside and Fish n Chips sign 7x5in card -  Day 252 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have been practising using watercolours - both inks, stamps and "proper" palettes and so am just beginning to learn how complicated it really is! How I made this card:- I created the background by using the Dreamees Chalk inks - both the cubes and the re-inkers - gradually laying down various colours to create the sky, sea and land. I realise now that I need to let it dry before adding a new colour on to it as it just becomes a sludgy colour if I don't! Once it was dry, I realised it would make a great sea scene (I don't start off with a plan as you can see!) and so added some white to the sea to create wave effects and also some rays to the area that I thought looked like the sun. I then cut out the Fish n Chips sign out of white cardstock (it is a Tattered Lace die) and coloured it in using Pink and Green alcohol markers for the bunti...

Relax, Calm, Unwind fairground silhouette on sunset background card - Day 230 of my 365 day challenge HI Craft addicts ! Today's card (for day 230 of my 365 day challenge) is one I made using Tattered Lace dies, a stamped sentiment and a hand coloured background. How I made this card:- I first of all coloured the background in using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks trying to blend them in to make it look like a sunset (or sunrise) - I used Ripe Persimmon, Barn Door, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed. I then cut out the fairground scene and the small hot air balloon in black card and attached them to the background using Midas Touch Sticky Dots. I placed the fairground scene slightly higher up so that I could add some shadow to them using some grey/brown alcohol markers. I edged the panel using a black alcohol marker and stuck it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using Collall All Purpose glue. Finally,I stamped the Relax sentiment (from Th...
