Just fur you... geometric dog A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I hope all is well with you! Here is another card for my 365 day challenge -  I hope you like it! I placed some Wild Spider self adhesive sheet on the reverse of Lynda Chapman's Black card and cut out the Geometric Dog out of it. I then attached it to some white card after removing the backing sheet. I burnished it with a bone folder to make sure it was firmly attached to it. Once I had done that, I took one of Tattered Lace Torn Edge rectangle dies and cut around the white card leaving a narrow border around the dog. I coloured the dog in using 3 shades of brown colouring pencils from Stabilo - they really are great to colour in and they do blend a bit too! Once I was happy with the result, I then coloured around the dog using some Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. The blue card/paper is from Crafter's Companion Textured 12x12" pad and I stuck the white card to it and cut around it trying to replicat...

You are my Happy Place... cute dog on square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts So here is another handmade card using Stamps by Me products, this time with Colouring pencils instead of Markers or watercolour paints. I first of all stamped the dog image from the Garden Safari Stamp set 2 out on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then coloured it in using Stabilo Colouring pencils and cut around it leaving a white narrow border. I also cut out a scalloped edged circle (various companies do produce this type of die) in brown card I had previously scored the front of a 5" white card using the Hunkydory's Scoreboard three times in .5" increments. I then stuck the circle on to the middle of the card using PVA glue and then placed the dog topper on top of that with foam pads. I used the You Are my Happy Place sentiment from Lisa Horton's Ticker set, added it to some of the brown card, cut around it giving it a wavy edge and placed it at the bottom of the card using foam strips. Finally, I added some Blushi...

Forever Friend cute dog A6 card 365 day challenge

Image
Well hello again It might sound like a broken record, but I really enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it too! I cut out the film strip using one of Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me dies in black card (Lynda Chapman's Creative Crafting World) having previously attached it to some Wild Spider Self Adhesive roll. I then attached it (removing the backing sheet) on to some white card. I felt that it would be ideal to use the fun Dog stamps from Lisa Horton so I stamped the two dogs out using Gina K's Obsidian Black Amalgam ink (it is great as you can use any media to colour the image in) and then stamped the Forever Friend in the centre space. I also used one of the pawprints to add a bit more fun to it. Spectrum Noir's Triblender markers make it really easy to colour and shade and so used 2 Brown ones to colour the dogs in. Using a Sigma Micro pen (black) I added a balloon shape to the sentiment and made it look like the dog in the bottom strip was holding on to it. Fin...

It's Your Birthday... Let's Celebrate Dog having fun A6 gatefold card

It's Your Birthday... Let's Celebrate Dog having fun A6 gatefold card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a gatefold card which I have made using a mix of dies, stamps and stencils.... How I made this card:- I first of all took the kriss-kross part of the Thirsty Brush Stencil (it doesn't have a name but is in the one that has Bistro and Paris included in the pattern). I then coloured through it using the Clear Skies ink pad from Simon Hurley Ranger collection on either side of the gatefold (I used a blending tool to do this). I love this bright blue - it is so much fun! There was a gap on either side of the design  so I decided to use some foil to decorate it. I therefore used red liner tape (medium width) down the edge of the fold and placed black foil over it and burnished it until there were no glue showing. I had had the oval frame cut out from an old Create & Craft die in black card and decided to use it for this,so added some glue/tape to the...

Just Because... dogs in silhouette on hand painted background  A6 card...  Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead! I had fun painting the background and then deciding what to use it for - these dog silhouettes were just the right thing! How I made this card:- The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course. I first of all die-cut the dogs (from the Fun, Frolics and Flight Tattered Lace Collection) out in black card. I chose these two as they look as if they are coming from different directions. The card is Lynda Chapman's black card from Creative Crafting World. I then took a small piece of white card (I used stamping card but watercolour card would do just as well) and created the sea scene using Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors and Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering watercolour paints. I love these paints as the paper shimm...

Wishing You a Furry Christmas A6 card -  Day 345 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Wow only 2 weeks to Christmas and here is another card to celebrate it using Stamps from Personal Impressions and alcohol markers. How I made this card :- I first of all coloured a pre-cut white label tag (approx 5" x 3") using blue and black Gansai Tambi watercolour paints and left it to dry and edged it in a black alcohol marker. I then stamped out the cut dog in its' kennel (from Personal Impressions Christmas Santa Paws) on to some white stamping card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then coloured it in using a couple of brown alcohol markers for the kennel, grey and light grey for the snow and other colours for the fairy lights and cut round it leaving a narrow white border. I stamped some holly leaves directly on to the front of an A6 cream linen effect card again using the Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in using green alcohol markers. Using Cosmic Shim...

Two Christmas Cards today - Day 336 of my 365 day challenge

Image
Two Christmas Cards today -  Day 336 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! i have made two cards today - both DL but totally different in design - one using a topper, the other a die-cut.... How I made these cards:- Card 1 (top) I painted this background some time ago using various Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints, creating this sunrise/sunset background and thought it would be great to use with these Three Kings die cuts (from Tattered Lace) which I cut out of black card. I trimmed the background so that it would fit a DL card (leaving enough room on the right hand side) with black alcohol marker. I then edged it with a black alcohol marker and glued it to the left hand side of the card. I used Midas Touch Sticky dots to attach the Three Kings to the panel trying to make it look as if they were travelling in a row. I then cut out the Season's Greetings sentiment (again from Tattered Lace) in black and glued it to the right hand side of the card. ...

Happy birthday - Scottie dog - C5 Shaped card -  Day 312 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So today's challenge is a very quick and easy card made using one of the "Pawsome Pets" topper sheets from the Little Book series from Hunkydory. How I made this card:- I used a C5 scalloped edged linen effect card which can be got from various suppliers including Create & Craft. I then added the "Scottie dog" topper sheet (from the Pawsome Pets Little Book of Toppers on to some "Silver" A6 Mirri card (which you can buy pre-cut from Hunkydory) using some Fingerlift tape (I prefer that when using Mirri card as it doesn't smudge it like wet glue does). I stuck the whole thing on to the middle of the card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I also die-cut the "Dog bowl" in the "Silver" Mirri card (I cut it from the middle of the one used for the panel and glued it to the panel with the same PVA glue. Finally, I added...

Hello - duo of Dachshunds - hand coloured DL Kraft card -  Day 251 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! For today's card, I have used a mix of hand colouring using Distress inks and colours along with die cuts. The result I think is really good fun and would make a lovely card for someone just to say Hi! To make the background - I first of all cut out a piece of white stamping card and coloured a "landscape" scene using Generation INX "Green G01" and "Blue B01!", Tim Holtz "Mowed Lawn" distress ink and other blue/green shades, I also added a touch of black Memento ink to make the clouds a bit more noticeable. I then cut it to fit the card (it measures 140x95mm ) and edged it in black alcohol markers. To make the embellishments -  I first of all cut out two of the "Dachshunds" i n white card using the "Pets" collection dies from First Edition along with the bone that is in the set. I pu...
