Flowers, Butterflies and abstract MDF coasters -  Day 140 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Something different today for my 365 day challenge - this time 6 coasters that I have decorated using decoupage paper. How I made these :- I first of all used some Zig Varnish and covered both the front and back of all of these coasters and let it dry overnight. I then chose these 4 different patterns from Craft Consortium's decoupage papers  - there are so many to choose from and each pack contains 2 sheets. Using some Matte Mod Podge, I covered the coaster first of all and then added a piece of the decoupage paper on top and smoothed it down first of all (the one thing I am not too keen on with these papers is that they are folded so the creases can show). Once I was happy with the position, I then added some more Mod Podge over it using a flat brush and let it dry (which it does really quickly). Home decor - Gift coaster set  Hi Craft Addicts! I have made this as a gift for a wedding anniversary so thought it would make a good blog as to how I made it! First of all, this is the Stamps Away coaster set which consists o f 6 11cm round and 6 10cm square coasters - both with their own holders. For this one, I chose the round one and so glued the 3 "sides" into the base (using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue ) and then covered it with a couple of coats of the Pebeo Black Gesso which is really great at giving it a smooth finish. I also painted the 6 coasters in the same Gesso all over (including the sides) and let them to dry. Once the base was dry I added a Tattered Lace white circle and added a Tonic Studios black layer which I thought looked like vines to it.
