Coaster set of 6 - round 11cm

Home decor - Gift coaster set

Hi Craft Addicts!

I have made this as a gift for a wedding anniversary so thought it would make a good blog as to how I made it!

First of all, this is the Stamps Away coaster set which consists of 6 11cm round and 6 10cm square coasters - both with their own holders. For this one, I chose the round one and so glued the 3 "sides" into the base (using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue) and then covered it with a couple of coats of the Pebeo Black Gesso which is really great at giving it a smooth finish. I also painted the 6 coasters in the same Gesso all over (including the sides) and let them to dry.

Once the base was dry I added a Tattered Lace white circle and added a Tonic Studios black layer which I thought looked like vines to it. I then coloured in a flower which I had cut out from some black and white floral A4 240gsm Popset cardstock from Craft Creations using Orange, Red and yellow Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and glued it to the  centre of the panel.

I then covered it with a matt Modge Podge to give it an added protective layer.

I then added various designs including foiled letters and butterfly to the coaster themselves and a couple of other designs that I thought I looked good. I did used Sparkle Modge Podge on one of them but don't think it worked as well as either of the Matte or Glossy versions - the 6 coasters are to the left:-

C - is for Cocktails - this has a foiled C and some Tattered Lace flowers in pink and white

C is for Coffee - on a plain scalloped edged circle

T is for Tea - this has a foiled T on a scalloped white layer

B is for Beer - this has a foiled B on a tuck and fold Tattered Lace layer

Butterfly - this is foiled on a Tattered Lace lacy layer

Love and flowers - this is a foiled abstract flower on a Tattered Lace lacy layer
