Mini card Challenge 3 - set of 4 A7 Cards - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest mini challenge is this set of 4 different A7 cards using dies, stamps and hand coloured backgrounds. All the cards are A7  and come with matching envelopes and you can get them from Hunkydory and all the corners have been punched in a variety of ways using a Kit n Caboodle punch (apart from the bottom one which hasn't been) Card 1 (Top left) I cut out the Balloon and rabbit out (Woodland Celebrations dies from Sizzix) using both Lynda Chapman's Black card and Sheena Douglass Willow White card. I added the white part of the balloon to give the impression of a shadow towards the top left using a Tape pen. I had created a background using pastel hybrid inks (Tim Holtz Distress Oxide, Crafter's Companion Harmony and Nuvo ink pads). cut it out using a stitched effect die and stuck a narrow panel to the left hand side of the card and trimmed it to fit. I then added some black dots using a black alcohol marker. I glued the balloon, rabbit and...

Happy Birthday Butterfly silhouette on floral background 6in card

Happy Birthday Butterfly silhouette on floral background 6in card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I made some time ago using a couple of dies , some hand coloured paper and a sentiment stamp... How I made this card:- I had created the background paper using Gansai Tambi Metallic Watercolour paints and once it was dry I cut it out using a circle die (approx 2").  I then used another slightly large circle die from Tonic Studio's Oceana Layering Die set and cut it out in Black card. I then used the fancy circle die from the same set and cut out a larger frame using a backing paper from Creative Crafting World. Using the Butterfly Animal silhouette die from Crafter's Companion, I cut it out in black card and stuck it on to the coloured circle using PVA glue. I then attached that to the Black circle die again with PVA glue. I attached the whole panel on to the fancy circle with the same PVA glue. I used PVA glue also to stick it to the front of a ...

Happy Birthday - Mouse on abstract background A6 (A2) card

Happy Birthday - Mouse on abstract background A6 (A2) card Hi Craft addicts! I had so much fun making this card using just stamps and dies.... How I made this card:- The first thing I did was stamp the trapezoid leaf (small) stamp from Toni Darroch's Geo floral set 4 times on to white stamping card with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam ink - I really love these ink as it can be used with alcohol markers, water colours etc. I coloured them in using a yellow alcohol marker and cut them out close to the edge. I then used a black alcohol marker around the edge. Stamps by Me do the accompanying dies to this collection but I didn't use it to do this. I used the larger leaf and stamped it in each corner using Poppin' Pink and Screamin' Green Electro Pop Neon ink from Gina K - for other ideas as to how to use these inks, Gina K has produced a video here  I did mix the colours in two corners and had alternate colours in the top right and bottom left ones. I also stampe...

Just Because... dogs in silhouette on hand painted background  A6 card...  Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead! I had fun painting the background and then deciding what to use it for - these dog silhouettes were just the right thing! How I made this card:- The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course. I first of all die-cut the dogs (from the Fun, Frolics and Flight Tattered Lace Collection) out in black card. I chose these two as they look as if they are coming from different directions. The card is Lynda Chapman's black card from Creative Crafting World. I then took a small piece of white card (I used stamping card but watercolour card would do just as well) and created the sea scene using Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors and Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering watercolour paints. I love these paints as the paper shimm...

Wishing you a Bright and Happy Day Stag in silhouette square card

Wishing you a Bright and Happy Day Stag in silhouette square card Hi Craft addicts! I do love these animal silhouettes from Crafter's Companion and so  made this Birthday card using a background I created using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons. How I made this card:- I first of all used various Tim Holtz Distress Crayons (Orange, Yellow, Brown and Pink) to create the background.  I blended it in using a paintbrush and some water and let it dry. I then used one of the Tattered Lace Deckle edge Oval dies (I had measured it against the Deer die to make sure it fitted) and cut the background layer out. I cut out the Deer/Stag die using Black card and stuck it to the background layer using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I had previously scored the top and bottom of a 6" square pearlescent card several times and placed the oval background towards the top of the card and stuck it down again using the PVA glue. I stamped the Wishing You a bright & happy day sentiment (from P...

Friend... Dog in silhouette on tesselated background 6in card

Friend... Dog in silhouette on tesselated sunburst background 6in card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I have made using a variety of dies, some self adhesive paper and a hand painted background. One of the projects for my "Tesselating Tuesday" theme! How I made this card:- I love this Sunburst Synergy Paper Piecing die (No. 1) from Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me and so I cut it out twice (it does not have a cutting edge so it stays within your card). I used Black and Teal self adhesive Metallic papers from Creativity International to do this as it is easier to paper piece if you don't have to glue each piece! I then took the backing sheet off the black die-cut and placed it on a precut piece of 6" white card (from Hunkydory, but Rare Earth do this size too).  Once I was happy that it was in the right place, I then used the backing sheet to burnish it down. I took some time deciding what design to make with the teal paper and then used the...

Congratulations! Hedgehog silhouette on rainbow background top fold card

Image
Congratulations! Hedgehog silhouette on rainbow background top fold card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a fun and cheerful card for The 100 Day project made using a background created by myself along with a couple of dies and stamp. How I made this card:- I first of all coloured a piece of white stamping card creating a background of rainbow colours made by Tim Holtz Distress Crayons. I then cut a panel out using the largest Spellbinders Diamond Effects Nestabilities dies. Using the Marble 2D embossing folder from Creative Expressions, I embossed it using an electric cutting machine. As some of the diamond edges were thin, I trimmed them off and edged the rest with a black alcohol marker. Once I was happy with the result, I stuck the panel on to the front of a 7" x 5" top fold white card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I added some Black and Green ink to the Congratulations sentiment stamp (from Dreamees) and stamped it towards the bottom of ...

Trio of Animal silhouette A6 cards -  Cat, Dog and Hedgehog with flowers Hi Craft addicts! Well I hope you are having a good week so far and a Happy May Day to you all.... I had a great time making these three cards using a mix of dies and backgrounds I created myself. How I made these cards:- These are very quick and simple cards to make and would make great cards to give as Thank You cards etc. I first of all cut out the 3 dies (Cat, Dog and Seahorse) in black card (Lynda Chapman's). I then created three backgrounds - the cat and dog ones were made using Rainbow colour Tim Holtz Distress Crayons (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, lavender and violet) - the seahorse background was painted using watercolour paints - I blended them all using some water and a paintbrush. Once they were dry, I glued the die-cuts on top of each of them and trimmed around them, trying to leave as little of the background showing. I stamped 3 A6 white cards with various sentiments from ...
