Happy birthday - Ladybird design - personalised -  Day 80 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! Sorry for the lateness of this post but better late than never!  This card is the first of a series of cards using my own ladybird design in a variety of ways. I have designed it using CAP2 (Craft Artist Professional 2) and have given him (or her) a green body with black spots but first of all I designed the background using a gradient effect from yellow to green . I then added a lattice effect border strip in the centre and placed the ladybird over it. I then added a blue thin border and then added a larger white square as the base layer. I then added a decorative border to the top and bottom of it and printed it out.  This was then placed onto some silver mirri card. For the card itself I added a panel of multicoloured strips from Craftwork Cards " Celebration " 8" x 8" paper pad and drew some faux stitches along the top and bottom of...

"For Your Fries Only,..." Happy Birthday 5x7in card

For Your Fries only... Happy birthday 5" x 7" card Hi Craft Addicts! Something different today! I often read or hear people saying that Digital or CD crafting is not really crafting as it is not the same as cutting etc. With this card I hope that I can change people's minds to show that you can actually use them in conjunction with your other forms of card making to make wonderful cards... So...  as you may have seen from other cards on my blog (and on my Pinterest site  too ), I love Craft Artist Professional 2 and often use it to design backgrounds or an actual card rather than using a "physical" one - so here is one I designed from the " At the Movies" by Bloke  digikit from Daisy Trail which I think is a really amusing set of images - it can be bought here    You do need Serif's Craft Artist Professional 2 which is the software programme needed to manipulate and design the card and can be bought here  to design you...

Snow Leopard - Pollyanna Pickering...DL Card

Image
Snow Leopard - image by Pollyanna Pickering DL Card - No message on front Hi Craft addicts! It's been a couple of days since my last post and I thought I better rectify that! Today's card is a lovely image of a Snow Leopard which was drawn by the wonderful wildlife artist Pollyanna Pickering from the Snow and Ice papercrafting kit and the accompanying DVD from Creative Crafting World. This is a DL card and is 300gsm linen card and to make it, I did the following..first of all I added some thin red liner tape (Ultra Strong) about inch from both the top and bottom making sure that the lines were straight! I did this along both front and back of the card.. I then removed the top part of the tape on the top line and spread some silver gilding flakes (the one I have is the Magical Metallic pot from My Craft Studio ) and rubbed it in until I was sure that all the tape had been covered  - I then used the " scourer " to remove any excess flakes a...

Special Day card - Father's Day or Birthday Card

Image
Special Day Card - Father's Day, Birthday or just because.. The " Suits You Sir! " paper pad from Craftwork Cards once again has proved the inspiration behind this 7" (175mm) square card. I used a strip ( 30x175mm ) of the Bowler Hat, Moustache and Pipe paper from the pad and taped it in the centre of the card.  Meanwhile, I used the DoCrafts Cable Knit pattern 6" x 6" embossing folder and embossed some cream linen card and trimmed it slightly on each side. I then placed 5 contrasting squares in a pattern on it using Create and Craft tape runner. (The squares were punched out using the Woodware Large scalloped Punch) and are approximately 4.5cm each. I then added one of the round sentiments ( Special day with yellow tie ) from the Mini Mania Die-cut pad to the central panel. I also edged the panel using a brown Alcohol marker from Spectrum Noir so it stood out a bit. After this, I glued the panel using a wet glue (as there is the debos...

DAD - Happy Father's Day square card

DAD - Happy Father's Day or Birthday square card Hi Craft addicts ! Today's card is again using the " Suits You Sir! " paper pad from Craftwork Cards , this time I have used a 144mm 260gsm square card which I turned on its' side to form a tent fold style. It is good quality linen cardstock which I got in a pack from Craft Creations  and has a good textured finish. I first of all cut 3 strips from the patterned paper approximately 2cm to 2.5cm wide and glued them to the left hand side of the card using the edge of the last one to make sure that they were "butted" up properly to each other. I then made a topper using the same papers but this time I used a Woodware punch to cut 4 squares out - similar to the ones that I used in my previous card. I this time placed them in a different design on a 100mm square cream deckle edged pre-cut square, linen decorative panels. I also got these from Craft Creations as they offer a gre...

Special Dad - happy Father's Day square Kraft card

Image
Special dad - Happy Father's Day Card from the "Suits You Sir!" papers  from Craftwork Cards Hi Craft addicts ! So, here is another that could be used for Father's Day or even a male birthday .  Special Dad - Happy Birthday This is a 13.5cm Kraft square card from DoCrafts Papermania collection which I thought would go well with the some of the " Suits You Sir! " 6" paper pad from Craftwork Cards (I am not sure if it is still available on their website).  Having spent some time thinking about how I wanted the card to look, I first of all cut a strip of the grey gingham paper ( 4cm x 13.5cm ) and then used some jute twine (doubled up) in a cross formation to the front of it (attaching it both at the back and on the front of the paper too. I then glued it using some Collall All Purpose Glue to the front of the card leaving a slight gap on the left hand side. Whilst that was drying, I then punched out 2 squares each of the...
