Special Day card - Father's Day or Birthday Card
Special Day Card - Father's Day, Birthday or just because..
The "Suits You Sir!" paper pad from Craftwork Cards once again has proved the inspiration behind this 7" (175mm) square card.
I used a strip (30x175mm) of the Bowler Hat, Moustache and Pipe paper from the pad and taped it in the centre of the card. Meanwhile, I used the DoCrafts Cable Knit pattern 6" x 6" embossing folder and embossed some cream linen card and trimmed it slightly on each side.
I then placed 5 contrasting squares in a pattern on it using Create and Craft tape runner. (The squares were punched out using the Woodware Large scalloped Punch) and are approximately 4.5cm each.
I then added one of the round sentiments (Special day with yellow tie) from the Mini Mania Die-cut pad to the central panel. I also edged the panel using a brown Alcohol marker from Spectrum Noir so it stood out a bit. After this, I glued the panel using a wet glue (as there is the debossed pattern on the reverse of it) and stuck it to the grey and white gingham patterned paper from the pad.
You then need to glue the whole panel on to the front of the card making sure it is even on all sides.
For the insert, I designed my own using various digikits and items found in Craft Professional 2 (CAP2) from Serif - if you would like more information about this, then just get in touch with me.
As you can see this is for a birthday but it could be altered to cover any occasion.
There you are - one stylish card suitable for all occasions!.
