Father's Day card - suave gentleman C6 card

Hi Craft addicts!

Suited Gent - Father's Day C6 card Still 2 weeks to go till Father's Day and this is a really quick and easy card using a topper from the "Suited Seduction" fullworks collection from the brilliant Lelli-bot Company.  I really love the quality of their products and they really know what the crafter wants. And with NO dies or stamps used in it at all...

This is a C6 card which I used tent-fold (ie landscape) and thought I would include an insert that I designed myself within Serif using various digikits - if you would like me to send you details as to how I designed it just get in touch in the comments below...

I first of all cut a strip of the black embossed dotty card that Lell-bot provide in some of their kits (I does vary from kit to kit) 4cm x 15cm long and glued it just under where the centre of the card was and then used some black and white fabric gingham washi tape to make 2 borders on the top and bottom of the strip - again this helps if you haven't quite cut it straight!

Once this was done, I added the square topper to the right hand side centring it so that there was equal space top and bottom, and then added a "Happy Father's Day" sentiment which is included in the Hunkydory Essential Book of Sentiments (This is a really usefull addition to their collection of "books" as it keeps all of the sentiments in one place rather than scrabbling around to find the right one!) but is out of stock at Hunkydory at the moment.

I must say that if I had a foiling machine such as the MINC one, I would probably make my own in the colours to match the card or project.

Suited Gent - Father's Day C6 card insert
And now for the insert... once again I designed it using CAP2 from Serif and then saved it as a JPG and took it into Microsoft Publisher (I find it easier to print from there for some reason), created a custom page size so that it was just a bit smaller than the card (20cm x 14.5cm), added a text box half that size (ie 10cm x 14.5cm), copied and pasted it so that there were 2 halves and inserted the JPG into the bottom half, saved it and then printed it out.

I then used a C&C tape pen along the top edge of the folded insert and placing it carefully in the card closed it so that it now opens to show the inside of the card straight away.

I haven't decorated the envelope in anyway but was thinking that I might add a liner of some sorts to make it even more special - if I do I will add it to this blog....

Products and items you might need for this card
