Boo! Hallowe'en Card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge turned out so much better than I thought it would do! I took a 7" x 5" white card top fold (from Paper Boutique by Creative Crafting World) and used a punch from Hunkydory's Prism range to round the corners (my latest favourite thing to do!). I used dies from Creative Expressions Slimline collection (the two Stitched Oval aperture trio ones) and cut the main one in Lynda Chapman's Black card and then the smaller one in white and placed them on top of each other so the white showed through the holes. I trimmed them both so the white card didn't show and then edged the panel with a black alcohol marker. I had previously created this background using the Summer collection of Ink Lily Glimmer pens (it is a shame you can't see the gold glitter effect they create) and stuck it behind the panel with PVA glue. I then glued it to the front of the 7" x 5" card with PVA glue lea...

Beautifully Wicked - Witches inspired from Wizard of Oz characters DL card

Beautifully Wicked - Witches inspired from Wizard of Oz characters DL card Hi Craft Addicts! I had great fun using these stamps from Visible Image - I think I am going to try it with a darker background too soon as I think it could work with both. How I made this card:- To make the background, I measured a piece of white stamping card (I used Hunkydory's Ink Me 8" paper pad) so that it fitted the front of a DL card with a narrow border all around (approx 2.5" x 5.5") and painted it with Dreamees Dinkie Inkies Sparkle watercolour inks - especially  Phlox, Rosey (I know it isn't the right spelling but that is what it says) Cheeks and Sunset blending them all in so that the darker colours were at the top and the brighter ones at the bottom. To create the cloud effect, I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks - Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple. I heat dried it on the back and front, smoothing it down when it curled over.  I then stamped the smaller, ...

Boo! Witch and black cat on hand coloured background card  Day 289 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well I have been a bit frustrated with my computer crashing just as I was going to write this post but here it is .... How I made this card:- I first of all coloured a large piece of white stamping card with various reds, yellows and oranges distress inks and blended them in to create a sunrise/sunset background. Once I was happy with it, I left it to settle and cut out the Trellis background (from Tattered Lace) in black card.  I took out all of the diamonds but kept the top ones in sticking them back with a PVA glue and attached it to the sunrise background. I trimmed the background to fit the trellis and stuck it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using it as a tent fold card. I then cut out the Witch and Black cat in black card and glued them to the card with PVA glue. I also cut out the BOO! sentiment twice, once in Orange and another in whit...

Boo! Halloween square white card Orange and black - Day 276 of my 365 day challenge

Boo! Halloween square white card Orange and black -  Day 276 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Halloween is not something that I have usually made cards/projects for but there are some fun products around so thought I would make some for my challenge (day 276 today). How I made this card:- I first of all decided what images I wanted to use for the main toppers picking the witches' hat, Boo and Ghost from Sweet Dixie and the Skull and spider from Paper Boutique and cut them out in orange and black card (from Create & Craft's Core Collection). I then cut out two pieces of the Orange card using a Tattered Lace Forest Pines Nested Square die and then matched the size with a die from Tonic Studios, this time cutting them out in black. I stuck the ghost and the Boo! on to one of the Orange mats, and then before adding the skull to the remaining one, I placed some white card behind the eyes and mouth and then stuck that down. I repeated this adding the w...

Hallowe'en themed shaped 5" card -  day 293 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! So I wanted to make a quick card for today's challenge as it is the weekend and so came up with this one... How to make the card:- I first of all cut out the "Witch on a broomstick", "Bat" and "Crescent Moon" in black cardstock using my Brother ScanNCut. I then took a 5" shaped card (from Hunkdyory) and coloured the whole of the front of it using Generation INX ink pads - masking various parts of it to make some parts of the bottom part darker. I allowed it to dry and then added the witch etc on to the card - letting the bat's wing and part of the broom overhang the edge of the card. I then added the moon to the inside of the card. Finally, I added some of the new "Grey Mist" Nuvo jewel drops from Tonic Studios to around the edge of the card and inside the moon. And there you are - a card made using some images I cut o...
