Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one that could easily be used for Valentine's Day or really just to cheer someone up! I first of all took a 5in white card and scored it down the middle of the front piece and folded it back on itself and scored it again to give it a good crease. I then cut out 3 panels of grey textured card (from Crafter's Companion 12" paper pad) allowing a very narrow border. I stuck them to the card using PVA glue (this time Dawn Bibby's glue). I then cut out the Couple under an umbrella in black card (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World) having first attached it to some Wild Spider Self Adhesive sheet. I removed the backing sheet and placed the die-cut on the front panel, trimming the umbrella as it was slightly too big. I then used an anti-static bag and dusted the inside panel, then stamped the sentiment (from Honey Doo Mandala collection), added some True white embossing powder and heat set it.   Well hello! It is such an age since I last did a blog but thought as we are in the New Year I better start doing one again! This first card for 2021 is one that I was really pleased with how it turned out... so here's how I did it. 1) I used the Geometric Owl die from Thirsty Brush and cut it out - using some black Lynda Chapman's cardstock which I had previously attached to some Wild Spider self adhesive paper. 2) I then stuck it to some Kraft card and cut around it. I also used a Pigma Micron pen and added some "Zentangle" to some of the spaces. 3) Using a Tattered Lace circle die (with a scalloped edge), I cut a circle and then embossed it with Lisa Horton's Circles 3D folder. 4) I coloured the circle using Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and glued the owl on top of it. 5) I also cut out a square of Brown paper or card (from Crafter's Companion 12" pad) and rounded the corners using a Prism corner punch and stuck it to the front of a 6...

With Love Abstract flower in pink, black and white on hand coloured flowery background square card Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card is a result of using a background I have created myself using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons along with dies from Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me. How I made this card:- I had been playing with some Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to make the flowery background (it measures approx 5" square as the card itself is a 6" one - to do it, I used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry, experimenting with the "strokes"  I used - it took a bit of time to get the effect right - I used normal stamping paper this time rather than Yupo as it gives a totally different effect. I also used a paintbrush and some water to blend them in even more. Once I was happy with what I had done, I then added some green alcohol marker to create the stalks and some faded blue and yellow spots dotted around the pattern. Just  Because....Floral B on vellum on hand inked background  A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I have made using stamps, matching dies, some vellum and a hand inked background that I created myself. How I made this card:- This is a lovely, bright and cheerful floral A6 white card that is very simple to make.... I used the Stamps By Me Just Because stamp and matching die set and cut out the middle sized B several times in white card and then stamped the floral B on to some white stamping card, placed the die over it, taped it down and cut it out. I coloured the flowers etc out Prism watercolour pencils and blended them in. Using PVA glue, I then attached all of the cut out bits together so that it had some height and then added the actual coloured one on top of them. I used my anti static bag and rubbed it over a strip of vellum (measures 2.5" deep and about 6" long as it needed to fold over the background to attach it). I eyeballed wher...

Happy Birthday Floral Spray on Kraft card square card  Hi Craft addicts! I have been using a variety of techniques/cardstock to create different effects with the same stamp - this is one using White embossing powder on Kraft card.... How I made this card:- I first of all used Versamark ink to stamp the Bold Blooms - Caroline flower spray onto some Kraft card and then added some True White embossing powder and heat set it.  I then used the largest of the Scallop Layered squares die as it has a very decorative edge to it to create a topper. Using the white pencil from the Chameleon set of crayons,I coloured in the flowers. I also added some green and blue to the leaves and smaller blooms. Once I was happy with the colouring, I then attached it (with a PVA glue) to a slightly larger square of dark teal card (I think this is from an old pack of Shades stock from Tattered Lace). Celebrate! Watercolour sea scene hand painted  7x5in card Hi Craft addicts! I am really trying to learn how to watercolour (with a varying degree of success) but thought I would use this scene I painted to make this Celebrate card...... How I made this card:- I had this shaped oval left over from a previous project, and thought that I would use it to create the scene and used pinks, oranges, yellows, reds and blues watercolour paints (any will do, but I used the ones in the Watercolour Wheel that Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me sold some time ago. When I was fairly happy with it, I let it dry naturally and then edged it with a bright blue alcohol marker. I wanted to add some items to it, so used the bird and yacht stamps from the Lighthouse Harbour set For the Love of Stamps range adding 3 birds and 2 ships to the scene using Black Gina K Amalgam ink. I realised that a part of the scene wasn't quite dry when I stamped it and so would make sure it was the next time ...

Just to Say ... Thinking of you Poppies square card -  Day 306 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! With Remembrance Sunday fast approaching, I have made this square card featuring hand coloured poppies for day 306 of my 365 day challenge. How I made this card:- I used one of Hunkydory's Prism Poppy images from their recent Paper pads and coloured the poppies in using various shades of red alcohol markers - you can use Hunkydory's own or any other brand of course - I still have to try out Copics! Once I was happy (are you ever totally happy with what you do?) with them, I then added a background to it using blue watercolour paints (either Rare Earth, Altenew or even a couple of shades of the Bleeding Arts tissue). Once it had dried, I then added some Green distress inks in the corners (adding a small border to it too). You could be somebody Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland card -  Day 277 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I really love the stamps that Visible Image produce and I wasn't disappointed with the Alice in Wonderland set. The first card I made was this one with the Caterpillar.... How I made this card:- I first of all took a pre cut white label tag (it measures about 4"x2.5") and stencilled the brick wall (from Skull & Cross Buns) on to it using Wild Honey Tim Holtz Distress Oxide and a stamping brush. I took a piece of Hunkydory's Colour Families 8" paper pad (there are lots of colours in this range) and trimmed it to fit an A6 card leaving a white border and stuck it down using a tape pen. I then attached the label tag on top of that using a PVA glue and placed it at an angle. I stamped all of the items in the Caterpillar set from Visible Image on to some white stamping card and coloured them in using a mix of alcohol markers - you...

Happy birthday - dancing Salsa couple in silhouette 7x5in card -  Day 272 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a very simple but stylish handmade card using just some Tattered Lace dies, some Mirri card and a birthday sentiment. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the dancing Salsa couple (a Tattered Lace die)  and then the Trellis Arch (again a Tattered Lace die) both in black card. I then stuck the couple on to some Matt Gold Mirri card (either Hunkydory or Kanban) using a PVA glue. I used Midas Touch sticky dots to attach the Trellis arch on to some Gold Mirri card and trimmed it so there was only a narrow border around it. I again used some PVA glue to stick it to the front of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card, placing it towards the top of the card as I wanted to have the sentiment at the bottom (well I did try various places but ended up thinking it looked better there).
