Snowflakes on snowflakes - 6in square card -  Day 338 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a "Snowflake" themed one - day 338 of my 366 day challenge - I have used various Tattered lace and Tonic Studios dies along with some Nuvo crystal drops and has a blue theme! How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the "snowflake" doily die (main 2 dies) from Tattered Lace in black cardstock and stuck them to some "White" cardstock which I had previously coloured using "Blue" distress/dye based inks. I then cut round it leaving a very narrow border and glued that to the larger "blue" circle which I cut out using the larger "Threaded Scallop" die from Tonic Studios. I then stuck that to a 6" white straight edged card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. Finally, I used some "Ripened Pumpkin" Nuvo crystal drops in all of the holes left in the die cut and a few in the middle of the s...

Congratulations or Celebrations Dachshund with balloons 6" square card - Day 166 of my 366 day challenge

Congratulations or Celebrations Dachshund with balloons 6" square card -  Day 166 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a fun and cheerful card which could be used for both a birthday or wishing someone congratulations ! You can buy pre-embossed cards so I am using one of the ones with a really pretty daisy style on the front (I think it is a Hunkydory one but could be mistaken) - you could of course also emboss your own card if you prefer!! I used some Red Generation INXS inks (RA01 ) and coloured the front of the card, using more on the opposite corners to darken it slightly as I didn't want the card to be totally white. I then glued the main patterned frame from the Hunkdory topper just slightly off centre using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I then added the main dog topper to the right hand corner using Hunkydory 2mm foam pads as I do like to give some dimension to cards. Once that was done, I cut out the wavy border in black ca...

Oriental peacock blank DL landscape card -  Day 163 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! As it is Sunday, I thought for today's challenge, I would make this simple but pretty card. I first of all die-cut a rectangle frame in bright blue mirror card ( it measured about 4" x 3" and cut it in half so that it lengthened it and glue both parts on to the front of the card. I then took the Oriental peacock topper from the Hunkydory Orient cardmaking kit and attached it to the front of the card using a double thickness of foam pads . I then used some "Carnation" Gloss Nuvo crystal drops to add some more colour to it  - and there you are a really simple but stylish card. You can visit my website  The Handmade Crafts Shop  to see what else I have for sale. Products and items you may need to make this card DL white card and envelope from Hunkydory but other comapnies sell them Rectangle dies from any  Bright blue mirror card Carnation G...

Elephant eating grass DL card Pollyanna Pickering design - Day 109 of my 366 day challenge

Elephant eating grass DL card Pollyanna Pickering design - Day 109 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have once again used an elephant eating grass image from the " Walk in the Wild " Pollyanna Pickering's Card Popper Pad to make this DL card. I cut out the " tribal " looking border strip using one of the " Honeycomb Simple Screens " die set from Tonic Studios in black cardstock. You can decide on how wide the strip can be so might want it narrower than I have done. I glued it into place and then started work on the topper. It comes with a lovely frame but I wanted it to have a black border so cut the outer one away and then glued it to some black card. I then used strip foam pads by Hunkydory to place it in the centre of the card. I had already cut out the strip in Kraft card so used some of the " waste " honeycombs and placed them back into the border to add some colour.  I really love the effect that the ...

Abstract flower in 3 colours 6" square card - Day 74 of my 366 day challenge

Abstract flower in 3 colours 6" square card -  Day 74 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! Another beautiful day with the sun shining through the window, so thought I would do something a bit brighter today. This card has been made entirely using dies ( from a variety of companies) and I think it has turned out to be quite striking as I only used 2 main colours (and white). I first of all used Spellbinders flower open and closed petal sets to cut out the flower in both red and white card and then layered them up offsetting the "full sets" to give it more interest. I then cut out 3 panels in red, white and black in 2 sizes from Tonic Studios (I wish I could remember which set it was from). I glued them all together offsetting the black and white one so it gave it a shadow.effect. I then added the flower to the centre of this panel. For the card itself, I cut off part of the front (approximately 4.5cm ) and used some medium ultra strong red liner ...

Blue bird Oriental themed 7" x 5" card - Day 35 of my 366 day challenge..

Blue bird  Oriental themed 7" x 5" card  -  Day 35 of my 366 day challenge.. Hi Craft Addicts! This pretty 7" x 5 " card has turned out really well - am learning more about distressing and so used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour the edges of it to "dim" the whiteness of the card. I then used a really lovely topper from Hunkydory and glued it on to a die cut panel of yellow Adorable Scorable or you can use Centura Pearl which was then placed on a larger panel of gold coloured mirror card. Once the distress ink border was dry, I then placed a panel of pretty yellow/gold patterned paper from Craftwork Cards on the lower half of the card and separated it from the top part using black and white hexagon shaped Washi style tape. I then used some foam pads to raise the panel and placed it on the card (leaving some room at the bottom for a sentiment to be added if needed). As this card is suitable for any occasion, I have left the inside...

Day 3 of the 366 Day challenge - You are Lovely (bird design) square card

Image
You are Lovely (bird design) square card Hi Craft Addicts! Well. day 3 of the 366 day challenge and this time I have done a 6" square card using the lovely " Beau Papier" paper collection from Craftwork Cards. So, to start with I cut a square of patterned paper (13cm) and stuck it to some white cardstock using a tape pen and then coloured the edges to match the bird topper.  I then used a panel ( floral embossed ) from the "All White" c ard collection and using the Tea Dye Tim Holz mini ink pad blended it to co-ordinate with the backing paper.   Having made sure that it was dry, I then found some orange and white spotty "washi tape" and placed it in the centre of the panel and then stuck it all on to the backing cardstock.   Once I was happy with it, I then glued the bird panel on to it making sure that it was centred ok and then using Stix2 foam pads , I placed the whole thing on a 150cm (6") scalloped edge...
