Just for you. DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this DL card using a variety of Companies dies and papers. I decided to add a variety of coloured cardstock to some self adhesive paper to see what sort of effects I could create so first of all added strips of Purple, Green (both light and dark) and Yellow to it after removing the backing sheet. Once I was happy with it, I took the Slimline Starry Background die (designed by Sue Wilson) and placed it over the card and cut it out. I then removed all of the stars, removed the second backing sheet and stuck it to some of Lynda Chapman's black card. I also cut out the Decorative Rectangle Aperture die (again designed by Sue Wilson) and trimmed it so that it was slightly larger than the starry design and then glued them together, making sure that there was a narrow black border around it. I used PVA glue to attach it to the front of a white DL card, ensuring that there was an equal border around ...

Happy Birthday - father and child silhouette on starry background square card

Happy Birthday - father and child silhouette on starry background square card Hi Craft addicts! Well it is another sunny and hot (in my view) day here and I am enjoying watching Wimbledon! Here is a card that I think turned out quite well using dies, stamps and stencils/masks.... How I made this card:- I first  of all cut out the main image of the man and a child (flying kites possibly) out in black card - there are 2 parts to the die set from Pretty Quick and I cut another one out in white and attached the silhouette one on top of it slightly offsetting it. I then coloured the background using blues and red dye based inks (any will do but i used the Simon Hurley pads). I stuck the whole panel on to a piece of dark teal card and cut around it leaving a narrow border. Using a starry stencil/mask, I attached it to the front of a 5" square white card using low tack tape and then coloured through it with a teal coloured ink cube (on a sponge dauber), trying to make part...

Trio of stars - Happy Father's Day Teal and white A6 card Hi Craft addicts! I wanted to do a plain and simple card for today's Monochromatic Monday and thought this Father's Day fitted the bill perfectly! Simple to make but I hope it appears stylish! How I made this card:- I cut out the three mat star layers using a dark teal card/paper (I think from Tattered Lace) - I used my Gemini machine for the larger one and my Baby Blue for the two smaller ones. I then repeated this for the main star shapes, this time in white card -  I really like the effect the dies create in the paper - if I had thought about it earlier, I could have tried to make the larger one slightly 3D by pinching the lines together. I attached the white stars to the teal mat layers using a PVA glue and then stuck them in a wavy line down the front  of an A6 white card (I am amazed at how different Companies A6 vary so much!) I took the HAPPY and Father's Day stamps from Lawn Fawn's Ha...
