Happy Birthday - father and child silhouette on starry background square card
Happy Birthday - father and child silhouette on starry background square card
Hi Craft addicts!
Well it is another sunny and hot (in my view) day here and I am enjoying watching Wimbledon! Here is a card that I think turned out quite well using dies, stamps and stencils/masks....
How I made this card:-
- I first of all cut out the main image of the man and a child (flying kites possibly) out in black card - there are 2 parts to the die set from Pretty Quick and I cut another one out in white and attached the silhouette one on top of it slightly offsetting it.
- I then coloured the background using blues and red dye based inks (any will do but i used the Simon Hurley pads).
- I stuck the whole panel on to a piece of dark teal card and cut around it leaving a narrow border.
- Using a starry stencil/mask, I attached it to the front of a 5" square white card using low tack tape and then coloured through it with a teal coloured ink cube (on a sponge dauber), trying to make parts of it darker than others.
- Once I was happy with it, I used PVA glue to stick the panel on to the card (towards the top).
- Finally, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on to some white card (using Black Gina K Amalgam ink), added some of the teal card to it using PVA glue and gave it a wavy edge.
- I then used foam pads to add it to the card towards the bottom centre.
