Sending Love and Happiness... dragonfly 7x5in Kraft card
Sending Love and Happiness... dragonfly 7x5in Kraft card
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's card is a bright and cheerful card which I have made using the dragonfly die from Paper Boutique, some "shape" dies from Tattered Lace, alcohol inks and some stamps....
How I made this card:-
- I must admit that I had used the dragonfly embellishment before on another of the cards I have written about, but if you haven't read it, I created a background using Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polishes (Parakeet Green, Lavender Blue and Flamingo Pink) and once dry, used one of the dragonflies in The Paper Boutique Dragonflies and a Bee set to cut it out. I also cut the body part in black self adhesive paper and attached it to the main bit.
- I had also created the background on which it is placed by using browns, greens, yellows and reds Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and when I was happy, cut a circle out of it and then stamped over it using the Woodgrain background stamp from Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps in black ink.
- I then used the largest of the Torn Edge Rectangles dies from Tattered Lace to cut out the main background layer from some old Kanban card.
- Using Pinflair's Glue-it Bookbinding Glue, I stuck all of the pieces on to the front of a 7" x 5" Kraft Card, trying to make sure it was in the centre.
- Finally, I stamped the Sending Love... your way today sentiment on to some white stamping card (Hunkydory and Rare Earth both do great card). I used Gina K Black Amalgam ink to do this. I cut around it in a wavy pattern - which is a great way of avoiding wonky lines!
- I then used foam pads to attach it at the bottom of the card. I also added some cream insert paper inside for messages.
- 7" x 5" Kraft Card and envelope (I can't remember where I got it)
- Dragonflies and a Bee die set from The Paper Boutique range from Creative Crafting World
- Tattered Lace circle die (or any other will do)
- Tattered Lace Torn Edge rectangle dies
- Sentiments and quotes stamps from Pretty Quick
- Orange/yellow card from Kanban
- White stamping card

- Alcohol inks - either Ranger or Jaquard Pinata
- Tim Holtz Distress Crayons
- Black Amalgam ink from Gina K
