Let's have an adventure.... 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Today's latest handmade card is a Pirates themed general card which is great fun to make for my 365 day challenge.

  • I cut a piece of white card to measure about 4" x 6" and used a circle stencil in the top right hand side and coloured through it with the remains of Gina K Obsidian Black ink on my blender brush.
  • I continued doing it until I was happy with how it looked and put it to one side.
  • I then used a blending brush and blue dye based inks to colour the rest of the card to look like sky/sea and then used a corner punch to create a bit of interest.
  • I stuck it to a piece of black card and trimmed it so only the corner bits showed through and then edged it with a black alcohol marker.
  • For the main topper, I first of all placed the two pirates on to a piece of card where I wanted them to go and then picked them up on my stamping platform and used Gina K Obsidian Black ink a couple of times to get a good impression.
  • I then stamped the two pirates on to a piece of masking sheet, let them dry a bit and then removed the backing layer and placed them over the relevant stamped images to protect them and then stamped the treasure map over them using Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide inks.
  • I used a paintbrush and some water to use the inks to colour the map and again left it to dry.
  • Once it was dry, I then coloured the pirates in using some Spectrum Noir Triblend markers and then cut around the whole image.
  • I stuck the main panel on to the front of a white 5" x 7" card using a tape pen and then added the pirate topper with foam pads.
  • I used the sentiment from a Creative Expressions set, stamped it on to some white card, coloured it with Walnut stain ink and then cut around it, added it to some black card, cut around that and then stuck it to under the pirates feet.

  Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is one that would be great for Valentine's Day and makes use of both dies and stamps! I had cut the backing layer for another project but didn't use it so decided to use it with this one. It is a Rose Gold colour Mirror card and the die is from Stamps By Me (I think). I attached it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using fingerlift tape as I didn't want to have any glue showing. I stamped the cute kids image out on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink - the stamp is from Bring on the Boys collection from Linnie Pink I coloured them in using Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir Triblenders as they make colouring in so easy with the 3 shades in one pen. I used blue and green Distress Oxide inks for the background and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. Hummingbird shadow effect on C6 white card -  Day 267 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge (day 267) came about after I had cut out the "Songbird" die from the Couture collection and thought it would be really useful as a stencil using some inks. To make the topper:- I had cut out the "Songbird" die (from Couture by Create and Craft) out in white card and thought that it would make a really good stencil to use as a background. I took one of the Stamping card tags from Craftwork Cards (in the " Stamping Must haves ) collection and coloured over the die-cut in various places (also reversing it so the bird was looking the other way).I used a variety of green ink pads - Tm Holtz " Mowed Lawn " and Generation INX G01. Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card - Day 265 of my 365 day challenge

Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card -  Day 265 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! The rain has finally stopped and so I have made this simple but effective card using stamps and dies... How I made this card:- I used one of Tattered Lace Floral Wreath dies to cut out the main topper in white card. I then coloured it with various shades of green alcohol markers and when I was happy with it, I stuck it to some Gold Mirri Card (approximately 3" square) and then using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (or Gina K's Connect glue) I attached it to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card which is part of the Core Collection from Create & Craft so it formed a diamond shape. Using Orange, Red and Yellow Bleeding Art Tissue, I coloured some card and when it was dry I used a Tattered Lace Nested Beads Essential Circle Dies to die cut a circle.
