   Hi Craft addicts!       Well today's latest blog is about these three different cards I made using Lisa Horton Flowers.... I had created some backgrounds using a variety of products from Himi Silk Crayons to Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and thought they would make good flowers. I cut out the various flower shapes from the Shabby Florals die set from Lisa Horton and then cut out the stalks in green card. I really like this backing paper which Becky Seddon produced for her collection and thought it would make the flowers really stand out and so trimmed a couple of pieces to fit the cards used and stuck them to the card with a tape pen - I wouldn't use PVA glue as it would show through the paper. Two of the cards are small (4") cards and I used two different punches (from Kit n Caboodle and Prism from Hunkydory) to round the corners along and then scored the edges with my Prism Scoreboard with an A6 card too. Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card is a different shape, this time a Z fold 5 inch square card. I first of all took one of the unscored pieces of card from Red Button - this measured 250x125mm and I used my Hunkydory Scoreboard to score it first of all down the middle and then down the middle of the left hand side. I then folded the left hand side back on itself to create the Z fold shape. I then rounded the corners of all the relevant bits of the card as I think it gives a softer edge to it. I cut out two panels of green card (from Crafter's Companion), the first to fit the front part of the card and the second to fit the inside part of the card. I decided to use the green flower paper from Toni Darroch's It's All about You Vibrant tones 8" paper pad and cut out two more panels this time slightly smaller than the plain green card and stuck them together using PVA glue and then attached them to the front and inside of the Z fold card. Congratulations... flowers on flowers using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.. A6 card Hi Craft addicts! I really love the effects the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons create and so thought I would make a card using just the yellow and orange pens in the collection. How I made this card:- I first of all used the Mustard Seed Crayon to add some "splodges" to a panel of Yupo (white) and then used my finger to blend them in (one at a time as the crayons dry quickly). I then added some Spiced Marmalade crayon on top of them and again blended them in. I also added some Twisted Citron in between the flowers and again blended them - I also used a paintbrush with some water to "smooth" the flowers and background out. I  cut the panel to about 4" x 3" as I wanted to put it on the front of an A6 white card. I placed a flower stencil (am not sure who made it) over it and, using a sponge dauber added some Black ink - I didn't know what effect it would create ...

Just  Because Chrysanthemums and Tulips Shaped card  Hi Craft addicts! I have had these shaped cards for ages and really had no idea what to do with them until I had this idea - using Thirsty Brush dies/stamps along with Hunkydory's Prism alcohol pens and a Just because sentiment... How I made this card:- I had some ink daubers with some ink left on them so decided to create this pastel background with what was left - I blended them in so they made new colours too! I decided to ink both the front part of the card along with the part of the inside that is showing. I then stamped out the large flower image (from the Chrysanthemum die and stamp set from Thirsty Brush on to some white stamping card using Gina K's Amalgam ink (so I can use both alcohol markers or watercolours) and coloured them in using Hunkydory's Prism Alcohol markers - I decided to make them bright and cheerful as I thought it would make it stand out more.  Once I was happy with the shading ...

Special Friend watercolour flower spray square card Hi Craft addicts! Today is "Watercolour Wednesday" (am trying to think of ways in which to theme the projects I make).. and so the card I have made is using the stamps and co-ordinating dies from Thirsty Brush and watercolour paints (my first attempt at doing this type of thing..) How I made this card:- I had made a card using the fancy edge ages ago but it didn't go quite right so I threw the front away but kept the back and used it for the background. I first of all stamped the large floral spray (from the Modern Floral stamp and die collection)  using Versamagic, covered it with True White Embossing powder and heat set it. Once it had cooled down a little bit, I painted the flowers and leaves using Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me Watercolour paints (her Wheel) - the embossed areas meant that the paints kept within the specific parts. Happy Birthday Floral Cupcake square card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card (another one for the 100 Day challenge) is a bright and cheerful card using a Stamp set from Woodware.. How I made this card:- I stamped the Floral Cupcake stamp (it is quite a large one so I used a Stamping press to make it easier) onto white stamping card. I used Gina K Amalgam ink to do this as you can use either Watercolour paints or Alcohol markers to colour it in. For this card, I used Chameleon Alcohol markers as I have had them for ages and haven't really used them! I then cut around it as close to the edge as possible and then edged it with a blue alcohol marker. I cut out a panel of green and white spotty paper (from For The Love of Stamps 8" pad) slightly smaller than a 6" card and another slightly smaller on in white card and stuck them together. Sometimes...memory flower panel 7x5in black pearlescent card Hi Craft addicts! I thought I would use one of Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me flower stamps to make this 7" x 5" card.. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the "A Miracle" Deco plate in white card (it cuts the whole panel out) and then stamped the co-ordinating detail design onto it using Gina K Amalgam ink.  I used the Eureka 101 to make sure that it was exactly in the right place. I then glued the detail panel on to the diecut using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue. I used Crafter's Companion Tri-blenders to colour the flowers/leaves in (Purple Blend - P2,3 and 4 and Light Green Blend - LG1,3 and 5). I stamped out the sentiment onto a scrap piece of white card using Gina K Amalgam Black ink and then cut it out in a cloud shape and edged it with a purple alcohol marker (Spectrum Noir chisel edge). I then attached the whole panel on to the front of a 7" x 5" black ...

Have an amazing birthday floral 7x5 white card.... Hi Craft addicts! I had great fun making this bright and cheerful card using dies and stamps and I hope you like it! How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the main floral frame (from Tattered Lace) in a dark teal blue paper and then the main panel again on white card. I stuck the blue one on top of the latter only using the narrow edge to glue it. I then stuck the whole panel on to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using Collall All Purpose Glue as it allows me a bit of wiggle time.. I then used the large flower stamp (from one of Toni Darroch's collection from Stamps by Me) and stamped it with black Gina K Amalgam ink on to some white card. I used Crafter's Companion Tri-blenders (Purple marker) to colour the flowers in and then one of the green ones to colour the stalks. I cut it out leaving a narrow white border around it and glued it to the left hand side of the card. I also used a torn ...

Just Because blue and white floral 7x5in card -  Day 242 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I am really pleased with how this floral themed card turned out - monochromatic using blue and white for day 242 of my 365 day challenge. How I made this card:- I cut out the panel behind the flower using a Spellbinders Create a Card die, and keeping the card in it, I coloured through the die using a variety of blue Distress and dye based inks (Tim Holtz and Altenew). Once I was happy with the blending, I took the card out of the die and added it to some blue Hunkydory Flexiweight card and trimmed round it to leave a small border. I cut the sunflowers out from White cardstock, once again using a Tattered Lace die. I then attached it to the main panel using the Midas Touch Sticky dots. I drew two lines across the bottom of the card using a Tonic Studios black alcohol marker - I like these pens as they don't actually bleed through to the back of the card if done light...
