I'm all ears! A6 white card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a quick and easy card using dies and stamps from a variety of Companies... I cut out the main panel in white card using Lisa Horton's Harlequin Bubbles from her Slimline Die collection. I had previously used some off cuts from Crafter's Companion linen effect cardstock to create a panel and I cut it the smaller rectangle out and kept the waste pieces and then stuck them back randomly and glued the whole thing on to the main mat layer and attached it to the front of an A6 card with a dotty pen as I could cover the whole die cut without any glue showing through the wholes. I had also cut a smaller rectangle using a deckle edged die in white card and stamped the rabbit, carrot and cupcake on to it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and then coloured them in using Stabilo FSC colouring pencils - I really like these as they blend very well. I then coloured the background lightly with what was left on one of...

It's Your Day...go bananas A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's card could be a slider card but I have made it as a "flat" design. I first of all stamped out the coconut tree twice on to white stamping card (from the Go Bananas Slider stamp and die set from Crafter's Companion), making sure that it had enough room in between them for the foliage. I then stamped the leaves so they looked attached to the trees. I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink for this as it is good for either watercolours or alcohol inks. I used a couple of green shades Spectrum Noir Triblend markers to colour the leaves of the trees and the grass, trying to blend them so that you can see some shading. I then used a couple of their brown Triblend markers to colour the trunks and nuts, blending the colours in to give it some dimension. I used one of the darker green markers to colour the foliage in. I also stamped the sentiment from the same collection directly on to the panel just under the foliage. I also used the brown markers t...

Happy Birthday - cute mouse in silhouette 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a cute Birthday card that could be sent to anyone you like! I used the mouse silhouette Paper Cuts Die from Creative Expressions and cut it out using Lynda Chapman's Black Card. I created the sunrise background on some smooth cardstock using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Oranges, Reds and Yellows) or you can used watercolour paints to colour the background too! I then used some PVA glue to attach the silhouette die cut on to it and edged it with a black alcohol marker. I rounded the corners of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card (which are now discontinued from Create & Craft) - I used a punch from Hunkydory's Prism range. I then took a piece of Orange and white dotty paper, rounded the corners and attached a strip of black card to the middle of it (approximately 4.75" x 1") and then stuck both to the front of the card. I used some thin foam pads to attach the topper panel to the centre of the card to...

Hogs and Kisses... cute pig with parcel on trellis background  7x5in card Hi Craft addicts! Am so glad it isn't as hot today as yesterday, have actually got to make a card which I think is quite cute but stylish too! How I made this card:- The base card I used is an Ivory/cream (7" x 5") which I got from the Core Collection from Create & Craft. I first of all die-cut the larger of the two Moroccan Trellis frames (from Tattered Lace) in black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) and stuck it with PVA glue to the Ivory Linen effect card from Create & Craft... You could use Sticky Roll or self adhesive backed card to do this too so you wouldn't get any glue seeping out. Using Gina K's Black Amalgam ink, I stamped out the Piggy stamp (from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps Hogs and Kisses collection) onto white stamping card and coloured it in using Prism  Watercolour pencils (any other brand will do the job too).  I fussy cut aro...

You are my Favorite... ice creams galore A6 card

You are my Favorite... ice creams galore A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Throwback Thursday and I have decided to go back to a couple of previous stamp collections from both Hunkydory's For The Love of Crafts and Altenew! How I made this card:- I had a pre-cut panel of deckle edged white card and decided to use this as the base layer and coloured it using Rare Earth ink pads (Putting Green and Cornflower Blue) to create the background and then edged it with some black alcohol marker. I then used the Ice Cream Van and ice creams from the Ice Cream Parlour stamp set (from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps) and stamped them on to some white card. I coloured them in using a variety of Tonic Studios's Nuvo Alcohol markers (looking at the van now I realise I need to practice more...). I think I had more success with the ice lollies! I cut around them, trying to be as near to the edge as possible. I added a narrow strip (about 1/2") of red card to the centre of th...

Happy Birthday Unicorn and butterflies C6 card -  Day 168 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I really enjoyed making this fun and whimsical card (it is a white card despite the pic) using some Rare Earth stamps, Zig Clean Color pens and alcohol markers. How I made this card:- I had a strip of white card that was going spare so I coloured it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist sprays and let it dry - I used blues and greens with some red as I had an idea I would like to use it as sky and grass! I stuck it to the bottom of a C6 white linen effect card and trimmed it and then used the rest on the top of the card. I then stamped the flowers, plants and butterflies directly on to the card using Altenew inks and used a water brush to blend them slightly. I then stamped the cloud in purple (these are all from a Rare Earth collection) just under the "sky". I stamped the unicorn image on to some white stamping card with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colour...

Hello there - don't worry be happy cute tortoise C6 card -  Day 156 of my 365 day challenge Hi craft addicts! Today's card is one I have made using a fun stamp from Woodware along with some papers for the background - oh yes and some Tattered Lace dies! How I made this card:- I stamped out the Tortoise/turtle image on to some white stamping card using Versafine Onyx Black in and whilst it was still dry (you need to be quick), I added some Clear embossing powder and heat set it. I then coloured it in using a couple of different shades of brown alcohol markers for his head and body (not sure why I think it is a male!) and some green and grey markers for its' shell. Once I was happy with it I cut it out, leaving a small white border around it. I then cut out various pieces of paper - a darker plain blue and a lighter blue and white for the sky (cutting the latter into cloud shapes) and stuck them on to the top of a C6 white linen effect card and th...

Flying by to say Congratulations - Planes and Parachutists 7x5in card Day 152 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is a fun and whimsical Congratulations card made using For The Love of Stamps and mask, alcohol markers, distress/dye based inks and Zig Clean Color pens. How I made this card:- I used a 7" x 5" white card for the base card, and using the For the Love of Masks Plane Cute coloured the border using Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress inks, moving it along every so often as it is a square mask and this is obviously a rectangle one! Once I was happy with it, I then used the mask to ink through and added the planes, clouds and birds and FLY images, using the Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves inks (some lighter than others). I then stamped out the parachutists and a few of the planes several times on to white stamping card and coloured them all in using different alcohol markers - I did use Zig Clean colour pens for one of the p...
