MUM - floral background DL card - 365 Day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addict s! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a Mother's Day card using dies and patterned papers. I first of all used the largest of the slimline Balloons set of dies from Dotty Designs to cut out the background in a green shade of card (from Crafter's Companion)k I then cut out the Stamps by Me It's All about You floral paper using the next size down. I attached the smaller panel to the green background and glued it to the front of a DL white card, the corners of which I had rounded using a Prism (from Hunkydory) punch. I also cut out another of the smaller panels this time in green, but this time adding the aperture die to it as I wanted to use the "waste" as another background layer for the letters. I then used Lisa Horton's Large Stitched Alphabet letter dies (the M and U) and cut the word MUM out in white card. Using the aperture panel that I had left over, I placed the green pieces inside the spaces and glued them in us...

MUM two Mother's Day DL cards - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft Addicts! Two for the price of one today - two Mother's Day card that have been made using just dies. I made the two DL cards using a) Hunkydory Adorable Scorable for the top card and 300gsm white card for the bottom one. I used the largest of the Dotty Designs die to cut two pieces and scored one of them at the top (approximately 1/2" and then added some Red liner tape and attached them to make the card. I had decided already that I wanted to use them as Landscape cards but you could used them as portrait too! I then cut out the middle sized die in brown card and then the aperture card in white (for the bottom card). I also cut out the MUM sentiment from the Carousel alphabet dies from Creative Expressions using some Stamps by Me background Paper (from the All About You paper pad). For the top card I stuck the brown layer using PVA glue and then added the waste circles on to the front of the card, hopefully making the spaces equal. For the bottom card, I attached the ...

Mum... A6 Mother's Day card

Mum... A6 Mother's Day card  Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend? Here is one card I made recently and I hope you like it! How I made this card I cut out the Paper Cuts Lily of the Valley Edger die (from Creative Expressions) in blue card - I hadn't realised it was quite small but fits an A6 perfectly.  I snipped both ends off and removed all the waste bits using a Pokey tool and then glued it to the right hand side of the card using Pinflair Glue-it Glue. I then cut a panel of Bright Blue card (both shades are part of a pack that Red Button produced some time ago on Create & Craft). I edged it with a darker Bright Blue alcohol marker and attached it to the left hand side of the card using the same glue. I had used the MUM dies (from Craft Buddy) before and these were the "waste" which I decided would go with this design (I must admit I don't usually like green and blue together but this seems to work). I cut a smaller pane...

Mum with flowers Mothers Day or Birthday easel card - day 49 of my 365 day challenge

Mum with flowers Mothers Day or Birthday easel card -  day 49 of my 365 day challenge Good afternoon Craft addicts! Well, the sun has gone in and it is nearly the end of the weekend but this card should make the sun shine! Very easy to make using a stencil, inks and some chipboard letters! How I made this card:- My base card is a 148mm (approx 6") white scalloped edge card and to start with I scored the front it and folded it towards the inside to give me an easel card format. I used an blue/violet alcohol marker (Spectrum Noir TB6) to add two lines on either side (I used the scallops as a guide). I put the card aside and started to make the topper which is one part of a shaped card (14x9.5cm from Hunkydory) - I used my Cutterpillar Pro to make sure I cut it in the right place... I then placed the flower stencil (from Imagination Crafts) and inked through it in various places (first of all adding the full flower so i could then work out where the others could go)...

Happy birthday Mum - presents - Day 17 of my 366 day challenge

Happy birthday Mum - presents - Day 17 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! So this time I have turned to a quick and easy birthday card for your mum using a very pretty topper from the "Especially for Her" paper collection from Hunkydory. I have used a C6 white card (which is approx 350gsm)- I prefer this weight of card as I feel that anything less than this feels a bit flimsy. Anyway, I added a strip of red ultra tape along the left hand side of the card and added some Tonic Studios Nuvo pink glitter to it (make sure that the whole area is covered so there is no sticky spots left. I then glued the topper on top of it (I didn't feel it needed a matt as the border "raised" it off the page. I then coloured the "Mum" sentiment with some pink Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and placed it on the card using some foam pads. And there you are - one very quick but easy card!   You can buy this card from my website here  for £2.50 - it is a ...
