Christmas 2021 - Brrr.... 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a Christmas card themed one using dies, stamps and alcohol markers. I rounded the corners of an A6 Kraft card (from Tonic Studios) using my Hunkydory punch. I then took a piece of white card, cut it to fit the front of the card and also rounded the corners of that too and attached it using a solid Tape pen (either Create & Craft or Crafter's Companion). I cut out the oval frame using Spellbinders Oval Petit Picot edged die in both the brown Metallink card (from Paper Dienamics) without the centre die and then again in white card, this time adding it so that I could use it to stamp on. I stamped the Snowman image (part of Crafter's Companion Wobblers collection) using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and coloured it in using alcohol markers. I then used some residue ink left on my blending brushes to colour its' background and then stuck it to the oval frame using the tape pen. I decided to attach it to one...

Cheers Black and White monochromatic card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this simple but striking card using just black and white cardstock. I first of all cut two pieces of white card (Sheena Douglass Willow White) using the largest plain die from Tattered Lace Fretwork Poppy Square set and made a tent fold card from them by making a score line at the top of the card using my Hunkydory Adorable Scoreboard. I creased the score line and then added some Red Liner tape to the top bit, having first removed the release backing sheet from it. I matched the edges by butting it against the scoreboard and joined the two together to make the card. I cut out the ornate layer from the same set from Lynda Chapman's Black card and stuck it to the card only gluing the middle part allowing the fretwork edge to remain free. The centre panel is a combination of various circle dies including the Spellbinders Petit Picot Edge one in white. I stuck them all together, slightly offsetting the black layer ...

WOW... Tulips 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this card using dies, stamps and papers from a variety of companies... I used my Hunkydory corner punch from their Prism range to round the corners of this 7" x 5" white card (either from Hunkydory or Creative Crafting World). I had created the background some time ago using Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders (mainly Green shades) - all you need to do is spritz some water on some cardstock, then tap the Pixie Powders on to it and allow it either dry naturally or use a heat gun.  I cut the main panel out from the above backgroun using the largest Petit Picot Edged die from Spellbinders. I then trimmed a piece of Green linen effect card to fit the mat layer and stuck it down using a tape pen - I didn't want to use a wet glue as I didn't want it to show through. I stamped the Tulip image from Sheena Douglass on to some of her Willow White card using a stamping platform and Gina K Obs...

Just for You .. Tree of Life card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's handmade card is a Just for you tree of life card that is very simple to make... I first of all rounded the corners of a square white card (6") using my Hunkydory Prism punch.  I had coloured a background using green hybrid inks (a mix of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide/Tonic Studios Nuvo/Crafters Companion Harmony ones). Using a Spellbinders Petit Picot edge die, I cut a panel out which is about 5" square and after cutting out the Tree of Life die from Thirsty Brush using Lynda Chapman's Black card attached it to the background layer with a dotty pen (as it only puts glue on to the places you want it to). I used some PVA glue to stick to the top part of the card which I used as a tent fold one and added some Spectrum Noir Glossy Highlights in various places. I stamped the Just for You sentiment (from Honey Doo Crafts) on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink, fussy cut around it and added that to some green card that matched the main p...

Blue bird Oriental themed 7" x 5" card - Day 35 of my 366 day challenge..

Blue bird  Oriental themed 7" x 5" card  -  Day 35 of my 366 day challenge.. Hi Craft Addicts! This pretty 7" x 5 " card has turned out really well - am learning more about distressing and so used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour the edges of it to "dim" the whiteness of the card. I then used a really lovely topper from Hunkydory and glued it on to a die cut panel of yellow Adorable Scorable or you can use Centura Pearl which was then placed on a larger panel of gold coloured mirror card. Once the distress ink border was dry, I then placed a panel of pretty yellow/gold patterned paper from Craftwork Cards on the lower half of the card and separated it from the top part using black and white hexagon shaped Washi style tape. I then used some foam pads to raise the panel and placed it on the card (leaving some room at the bottom for a sentiment to be added if needed). As this card is suitable for any occasion, I have left the inside...

Wooden MDF mittens - just right for Christmas

Image
Pair of wooden MDF mittens - just right for Christmas Hi Craft addicts! As Christmas is drawing ever nearer, I thought I would show you how I made these MDF mittens (approx 4" or 100mm). There are 2 different sizes so you could use one set for the tree and the larger ones for anywhere else! I have also made a box to go with them so they looks a bit more special. I first of all painted the two mittens (which were in the Dreamees Christmas MDF pack)  with White Pebeo Gesso paint and allowed them to dry. I then covered both sides with some red and white spotted paper which you can buy from Craft Creations and used some Cosmic Shimmer Matt, Seal and Glaze glue to "varnish" them - if you didn't want to use paper you could use red acrylic paint Using the MDF shapes as templates to cut the paper out, they were slightly bigger than the shape but you can use sandpaper to smooth the edges (it also seals the paper to the MDF). Once dry, I us...

Gift bag for Father's day or birthday "Have a Great Day"

Image
Gift Bag for Father's Day or birthday "Have a Great Day!"  Hi Craft Addicts! Well, as mentioned in a previous post, I thought I would make something other than a card and I think this gift bag would be great to put a present in for Father's Day or even a birthday. I like Kraft card and paper, so have used this bag which I think goes very well with the Paper Pad and Tickets from " Suits You Sir! " from  Craftwork Cards  but am not sure if it is still available.  The bag measures 18x27mm approximately so stuck one of the 6 inch square papers ( moustache, pipe and bowler hat on white ) onto the centre of the bag. Once that was done, I then used some of the tickets that came with the " Suits You Sir" kit and stuck them above and below it.   I then glued two squares (similar to ones I had punched out before using the large Woodware scallop punch ) in the middle (one of the contrasting designs is better) and then used on...

Travel by Car - I Heart Dad card

Image
Travel by Car - I heart DAD 7" x 5" tent fold card Hi Craft addicts ! Another card here that can be used for any occasion from Father's Day to a dad's birthday this time using a Hunkydory topper from the Magnificent Men kit and a " I heart DAD " sentiment placed on a 7" x 5" card which I have turned on its' side to be a tent fold card. First of all, using one of the " transport " themed topper - " Travel by CAR " from the kit, I matt and layered it on to some white and then black card so that it stood out more.  I then cut out a rectangle (deckle-edged) in a golden coloured Adorable Scorabl e ( 7.5 x 9.5cm ) card. and then added some black and white Greek key style We R Memory Keepers Washi tape in the centre of it and then placed the topper on top. Then cut out a larger scalloped/lacy rectangle ( 10x13cm approx) - think it is a Spellbinders die but could be a Tonic one!! in black 200gsm cardstock...
