Together... silver Mirri steampunk cogs hand coloured C6 window aperture card - Day 208 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a quick and easy one (as it is the weekend and it is slightly cooler today) using Tattered Lace dies, heat embossing and Craftwork Cards Candi... How I made this card.... I first of all cut a piece of Kraft card to fit inside an C6 white round aperture card and glued it to the back of the front of the card (if that makes sense). I then stuck the flap to the front of the card making sure it was the right way using a mix of finger lift tape and a wet glue. I cut out the Steampunk cogs out of silver Mirri card (they are Tattered Lace dies) and coloured them using Pink, Purple, Blue and Green alcohol markers. I left them to dry as I didn't want to smudge them. I attached them to the front of the card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue . Using Versamagic ink (or you can use any Embossing ink like Rare Earth's Clear Glass), I...

Birthday wishes - steampunk background 7in square card -  Day 130 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft Addicts! This project was fun doing as I was experimenting with using inks through a mask, embossing through it and other fun things! How I made this card:- I used a piece of  6" white stamping card (from Rare Earth) and attached the mask (Mechanical from That Special Touch) to it using some removable glue dots. I added the colour through it using Dreamees Sparkle inks, blending the different colours (green, pink and orange) in various places. The edges were also coloured and trimmed it so there was just a narrow border all around. Once I was happy with the effect, I carefully removed the stencil. I took a coordinating piece of green card (smooth side) and embossed through it (with Versamagic ink) using the Key to My Heart For The Love of Mask stencil and adding Seafoam White embossing powder. I edged the smaller panel in green alcohol marker. Before placing ...

With Love Steampunk heart meets traditional hearts square card Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card is a mix of "Steampunk" and traditional and can be used for either Valentines Day or really any time you want to say you love someone.... How I made this card:- I first of all took a plain 7" white card (from Hunkydory) and cut about 4cm off the right hand side. I then coloured the front of the card using the "Love is in the Air" mask (from the Love of Stamps range by Hunkydory) with a "Red" Generation INX ink pad (I used the XOXO, hearts and balloon heart). Using the Tattered Lace "Love is in the Air Lattice" panel, I cut out the strip for the inside of the card in black card - I had made sure that it fitted before cutting the front part. I also used some Tonic Studios "Hearts" in a couple of sizes/styles to cut out the larger of the hearts in pale Kraft (and embossed it using an A6 embossing folder from DoCrafts Xcut ...

Peel off stickers - have they had their day? .... Do Peel off stickers (wherever they come from) have their day? So many people seem to think they do, but I for one,  do use them occasionally (both Craft Creations and Handy Hippo  stock a wide variety). Peel off stickers - assortted types The borders and frames are ideal if you haven't quite cut something out quite right and have got a wonky edge and want to cover it up! Both come in plain and fancy designs as you can see from the above pic - they also come in a variety of colours which is useful if you want to co-ordinate a frame to a topper.... I have also found that some of them make great toppers for quick cards/projects such as the cards below:- Pack of 5 small (3ins) greetings cards - cogs The cards are cream coloured 3 inch (76cm) square cards - I used the DoCrafts Papermania ones as they are good quality (300gsm) and great value as there are 20 in a pack (with matching envelopes). Either the...
